Bixing Lu:……
Attention, Little b.a.s.t.a.r.ds! The headmaster has already known it!
The secure encryption lock in the mech storage room has been attacked right after that. He took a glance at it via his new eyes and suddenly found that the way of attack was really familiar——that was just the extracurricular reading materials he handed out last week!
White showed off proudly, "I keep studying hard three days and nights to understand it, so the headmaster should send me a scholars.h.i.+p."
But actually the headmaster only wanted to send him a slap.
On one hand, the headmaster Lu was gratified like a wise elder -- although he had rubbed off his lips two layers of skin to teach, at last he has wedged something useful into his students' wooden heads. On the other hand, he is furious. Because hardly have these naughty kids learned something, they used what they have learnt to fight against their headmaster!
The contemporary transportations can generally be divided into two kinds -- the interstellar and the non-interstellar.
The non-interstellar transportations are working in the atmosphere and have a large variety. It includes the ordinary civilian vehicles, the military mech vehicles running on the ground, thehigh-speed motors, the high-speed railways at low alt.i.tude, the planes or the special aircrafts at high alt.i.tude, and so on.
But the interstellar transportations can only be divided into two kinds in general -- stars.h.i.+p and mech.
Stars.h.i.+ps are both civilian and military. It is a general definition with a broad range.
But mech is different.
According to the laws of IU, mechs are only used as military equipment. From tiny and simple mech for single use which can be stored in a lab building to the super-s.p.a.ce ma.s.sive mech which can blot out the sky and cover the sun, all the mechs have two systems. One is the stock flight power system, the other is the military system which includes the interfaces to various ma.s.sive killing weapons and the defense system. So mech is absolutely forbidden to be held privately -- except in the Eighth Galaxy, a place out of control.
Even the shabbiest mech is still a lethal weapon, definitely not a toy of innocent teenagers.
Maybe Bixing himself is unreliable in some way, but at least he is still a responsible teacher. He won't let his students flub like monkeys, therefore he stopped the experiment urgently even without the chip in his body being taken out. Then he pulled down the detecting instrument hurriedly so that three wires and a sensor were broken. Warning alarm rang together noisily, showing the protest of equipments. A smell of burning spread.
Bixing would like to replace them with his body. But obviously the little b.a.s.t.a.r.d White had hit the books. Not only did he understand the extra reading materials thoroughly, but he also made his own improvement on it. Seeing anxiously that the lock is nearly crumbling, Bixing put on his clothes in a hurry for rus.h.i.+ng out, leaving his messed-up lab alone.
The entrance guards of the lab was the old fingerprint-and-iris system. To save money, headmaster Lu didn't install the gene lock. He still didn't quite get accustomed to the extremely powerful body at that time. Anxiously, his strong fingers went through the fingerprint collector directly.
The entrance guard suffered from such a serious attack and then judged it as an enemy invasion, refusing to scan his iris and locking the door. Warning alarm was roaring while all the signals and the Internet in the lab disconnected automatically. The emergency security door was closed as well -- it boasted three meters of thickness and was made of special material which can withstand neutral particle gun three times.
There must be some mysterious force taking charge of bad luck in the universe. Furthermore, it poured out a piece of invisible s.h.i.+t onto Bixing's head.
Headmaster Lu, who was locked in his lab, was staring at the emergency security door. He was boiling with anger, which made him look like a smoking chimney.
There were two boys and two girls in the mech storage room. Eight eyes were focusing on the collapsing encryption lock at that time.
White was the leader. He found that his capability on mech was pretty limited, therefore he invited two a.s.sistants -- Mint and her roomie Jingshu Huang. Girls were unwilling to follow him at first, but they were persuaded by money at last.
There was another boy went with them. He was the one who hogged others' seats and caused a gang fight. His name was Vitas, a hardcore savage bada.s.s . Among the whole Starry Sea Academy, everybody except headmaster Lu wanted to punch him right on the face. He fought with his schoolmates, no matter familiar or not, eight times each day on average, therefore he won himself a nickname called "Rickhead". Rickhead's family was not doing legal business as he once claimed to have come in contact with a real mech once. He came here for mech operation major at first.
The four had a clear division of labor. White was in charge of burglary issues, while Mint and Jingshu Huang were equipment maintenance crews. One was responsible for flight system, the other was for armed defense system. Rickhead steered the mech.
The secure encryption lock broke down eventually with a "click", and the door of the storage room opened slowly. White jumped up joyfully, raising his hand for a high five. But his three other partners didn't seem so kind, just watching him with no expression on their faces. So White finished the high five with himself awkwardly and did half of a broadcast exercise to hide his embarra.s.sment.
Jingshu Huang sighed ironically, "You guys sure about driving it? Do you think you have lived d.a.m.n long enough?"
Although it was just a single mech produced by a remote cult organization, it was more than ten meters high. It was used for teaching, therefore the weapon slot around was all empty. But it was frightening enough, though.
Rickhead claimed to have come in contact with real mech before, but he was only bluffing. What he played with when he was a kid was merely a simulation model. Comparing with the real one, the model seemed like a dodgem. Rickhead swallowed hard unconsciously, doubting whether had he suffered from boasting.
Headmaster Lu, trapped in the lab, watched with his x-ray vision in vain as his students slipped into the mech storage room. He could do nothing. After all, the biochip in his body was fairly shabby, having very limited functions. There are barely two functions--camouflage and invisibility, which was exclusively for the purpose oftrafficking children without any other custom options!
No phone was able to get through, no Internet was accessible and n.o.body could hear him smas.h.i.+ng on the door. Cold sweat entirely came down.
Suddenly, he raised his head and found a sonic booster in the lab.
Four reckless teenagers stood under the giant mech and all frightened. But comparing with the mech, poor Mint was obviously more afraid that White would refuse to pay her wages. That was why she mustered her courage first, "Hurry up! p.u.s.s.y!"
Rickhead looked at her for a moment. A heroic young boy never shows his fear in front of a girl.
Besides the basic knowledge about mech, Bixing had only brought them here once so far, presenting how to open the hatch. Rickhead restrained his fear, walking forward and pretending like he was calm enough. He recalled the steps he had acquired from books, and then opened the hatch.
As they stepped in the mech, the spirit net in the machine was activated with a buzzing sound, and the nerve net burst out frightening green lights crazily like boiling water. Rickhead suspected that the parts below his knees didn't belong to him anymore. He couldn't recall the link instruction at that moment.
While he was staring at the spirit net, headmaster Lu strengthened his voice with a strong amplifier, which made his voice reach the mech storage room via the water pipe of the lab building. He roared with a changed tune, "How dare you to touch the mech? Get off now!"
Shocked by the voice of headmaster, Rickhead recalled the link instruction at the wrong time and inputted them unconsciously. There was no time left for the other three to react while the hatch already closed heavily and loudly. Thousands of spirit nets flowed towards Rickhead altogether. The noises in the cabin suddenly had a rising intonation.
White covered his head and roared, "Is … is it gonna explode?!"
Jingshu Huang shouted: "Cut it off immediately, you idiots are killing yourselves!"
But Rickhead couldn't say a word -- anyone without professional training lack the capability to board the mech. The impact of linking with the spirit net for the first time could lead to a serious concussion. Rickhead was hardly rolling his eyes out.
Mint pushed her partner aside and ordered, "There is manual operation. Get off! I'll stop the program."
She acted like a calm general, then she punched the emergency valve break with her fist. Faced with such numerous operating b.u.t.tons inside, she seemed like an idiot -- more than half of which are totally unknown for her.
However the sciolist Mint was extremely audacious. Her mind blanked for just a second. Then she decided to try blindly, like curing a dead horse as a living one.
Bixing almost had hypertension on the spot: , "Don't!"
It was too late though.
The buzzing in the mech went down gradually. But before these teens could let out a sigh of relief, the mech moved at once.
The floor of storage room tore apart into two with a thunderous roar. An endless rail appeared and two wings of the mech drew back little by little. Slipping down along the rail, the mech headed to the launching pad, which is thoroughly out of control.
The teens gazed at each other for several seconds. Then, the serious youth, the cool princess, and the troublesome monkey, all of them became kids who they really were, screaming together loudly.
Couldn't be held back by screaming, the mech landed at the center of launching pad. Tremendous waves of energy exploded …
The mech soared into s.p.a.ce …
Bixing could hardly believe that the four wild kids sent themselves away as same as setting fireworks in front of him. He was more than furious about it, "Little b.a.s.t.a.r.ds! I will expel all of you!"
Kicking at the security door and leaving a concave footprint, Bixing Lu observed the depth of it and realized that if he wanted to escape from the jail, he should keep kicking at the point for three days. He would rather expect Zhanlu to set him free.
Anger was not the solution. Bixing Lu soon calmed down, wandering around in the sealed lab. In a flash, the imaginative headmaster Lu came out with a perfect idea -- he started the camouflage function of biochip.
All of a sudden, in the identifications of all security devices in the lab, the original furious man converted to a boy who was still growing his permanent teeth.
The little boy sat alone in the lab, preparing for half a minute, then burst out a resounding howl.
According to the minor protection law of IU, if a child under the age of ten stayed alone and has any obvious indisposed symptom for more than 5 minutes, the nearest monitor or security system shall call for the police.
The security system was set by Zhanlu, so Bixing Lu hoped that the AI from IU was law-abiding.
Zhanlu never let him be disappointed. Having his second childhood, headmaster Lu abandoned his face and kept howling for five minutes. The local police station which was like ornament most of the time received an emergency call. Police within 20 miles were summoned together mysteriously, and half an hour later, they dug out a rumpled headmaster Lu from the Starry Sea Academy.
At the same time, the mech carrying four troublesome kids departed from Beijing-ß planet like a canoe sailing to the ocean. Following the former setting of the mech, it soared to the vast universe.
Meanwhile, Jingheng left Beijing-ß planet with the company of Zhanlu, who didn't register his attendance at the lab on time. Then they were "invited" to a tiny base drifting at the edge of the Eighth Galaxy.
After landing, the hatch of the mech relieved a heavy sigh and opened slowly. Jingheng Lin stepped out with his hands behind his back and at once, he noticed the man waiting for him.
Regardless of male or female, this group of people all dressed in robe with pieces of decorations. If you look at them carefully, you will realize that the decorations were all living creatures -- the earrings were live spiders, bangles were live scorpions, and necklaces were tiny ouroborus.
This was the notorious cult organization of the Eight Galaxy, the Toxic Nest.
The leader was a mid-aged man about 200 years old. His left face was fully covered by tattoos of poisonous insects. You can hardly recognize his facial features. He stepped out and stretched out his hands, "I have heard of B4 for a long time, but have had no chance to visit. Let me make a brief introduction. I'm the servant of Voodoo the G.o.d called Alay. Welcome, my friend. May the glory of Voodoo bless you."
Hearing the odd blessing, Jingheng squeezed out a fake smile and felt almost itching. He didn't take off his gloves and just shook hands with him perfunctorily, "Sorry about hurting your people accidently."
Alay responded with a bright smile, "Our people invaded your border first. Never mind, we recognized each other by accident."
Saying this, he avoided talking about the spider issue and guided Jingheng politely.
The base was modified by an abandoned s.p.a.ce station, as big as a small city. It drifted around the edge of the Eighth Galaxy, occupied by the Toxic Nest.
The Toxic Nest wors.h.i.+ped big bugs, so they have a different taste from normal people. You can see all kinds of freaks here. Raising toxic bugs or having tattoos of them were extremely normal. The odder people even transplanted bugs' organs to their bodies. It seemed like a shady-looking monster bunch.
Jingheng turned a blind eye to all of these. He walked behind Alay and stopped at an enormous stars.h.i.+p after about 10 minutes. Artificial light source illuminated the cold smooth hull, reflecting a slight light. The stars.h.i.+p was like an alien in the strange planet with shabby facilities and odd residents.
Jingheng took a quick glimpse at it and identified that the technology level of the stars.h.i.+p was 150 years prior to the base of the Toxic Nest at least. Moreover, he realized that behind it should be the mysterious sponsor who produced biochips and asked for children.
The hatch of the stars.h.i.+p opened. A few people in protective clothing stepped out. The leader took off his helmet and revealed his ordinary appearance, "B4 from Beijing- ß planet? Pleasure to meet you. You can call me 001. I invited you. In your opinion, I am a so-called interstellar pirate."
"My pleasure." Jingheng arched an eyebrow, "In your opinion, I am supposed to be a great gangster."
