The five thugs were burly and tall, each bearing a variety of scars on their faces. They looked fierce and different from ordinary people.

Seeing how they reacted, Dōngfāng Mínghuì instinctively hid behind Dōngfāng Wǎn Yù, she opened her mouth to say, "Seventh Sister, could it be that you're so beautiful that a wave of people would be willing to rape you?"

The leader in particular looked more ferocious. He bore a large scar that slanted from his eyes to his mouth, destroying any handsomeness on his face, presumably because the scar was too eye-catching. He nodded and signalled two men to grab the younger one first. How could the elder one escape from his men's claws?

"Summon the plants around you to bind the two men. After observing the situation, if you can find the opportunity to run, do so. Don't get in my way." Dōngfāng Wǎn Yù whispered into her ear.

Those words were so righteous, Dōngfāng Mínghuì was crying her eyes out. She knew the female protagonist wouldn't be so cruel.

B, but….

"Seventh sister, I, I can't summon them when I'm scared." Dōngfāng Mínghuì felt the temperature in the atmosphere drop, especially behind her.

She was a fake, how could she use her powers under these circ.u.mstances, Dōngfāng Mínghuì sobbed.

Dōngfāng Mínghuì was unprepared, she was suddenly pushed away by the protagonist, allowing the two thugs tackle her instead. Not liking the current situation, she shouted, "PLEASE—— SAVE—— US——!"

One by one, spikes erupted from the earth bound the five men's ankles, trapping them. For a short time, they couldn't move.

Dōngfāng Mínghuì was beaten by her. As expected, the female protagonist still despised her. Ahh, her face hurt, she wondered if it was swollen.

"Look at yourself, you still want to marry my Seventh sister. Have you looked in the mirror, you think you're match for her? Your ugliness makes me want to puke." Dōngfāng Mínghuì's opened her mouth to say, unafraid of adding fuel to the fire.

The more the scar-faced man listened to her, the more irritated he became, "Naughty girl, I was being nice yet you refuse, I'll show you what I can do."

After he finished speaking, silence shrouded the forest. Suddenly, a strong gust caused a careless Mínghuì to be blown away. She crashed into the trunks of one of the trees, fainting.

Wǎn Yù glanced at the man and thought, at last, the world was quiet, now she could take this third-tier cultivator seriously.

When Cui'er and the others arrived, the whole place had become a mess. Several trees had fallen over, as if it had been hit by lightning, the leaves were scattered all over the floor and many of the of tree trunks had burn marks on them. It was as if they'd walked in on the aftermath of a robbery.

Unfortunately, no one had witnessed it.

When Mínghuì woke up, she was already tucked in her room. Her forehead was covered with bandages and her face was very swollen. Looking at it, it seemed like she was gravely injured.

"Hui'er, my lovely Hui'er, you finally woke up, you've frightened your mother." The second wife, Qin Qin, had been keeping watch on Dōngfāng Mínghuì's bed. As soon as she opened her eyes, she immediately sent Cui'er to fetch the doctor.

Before Dōngfāng Mínghuì could even speak, she saw Cui'er holding an old man's arm rus.h.i.+ng in. He quickly checked her eyes and took her pulse.

"Doctor, my Hui'er, how is she?"

The doctor waved his hand and glared angrily at the two ladies, "Simply nonsense, what else can I do? She's fine, just let her rest for a day or two."

After that, he left.

Dōngfāng Mínghuì's lips sulked, thinking how that lady's hand was really ruthless, the slap on her face was still burning as of now.

But, she wouldn't dare say that out loud.

"Mother, no one bullied me, I just wasn't being careful and accidentally slammed into a tree, making me faint." Dōngfāng Mínghuì muttered, her face red, this was truly too shameful. Soon after, something occurred to her, she inquired, "Mother, who sent me back?"

Cui'er, who came in to prepare the herbs, heard her question and replied, "Reporting to Miss, no one sent the miss back. Miss fainted at the doorsteps when this servant found you."

When Dōngfāng Mínghuì heard this, she had a terrible expression on her face. The female protagonist did a good deed and left without taking credit, it was clear she didn't want to be involved with her. For her disgust to reach to this level, ah, how could this be?

The second wife still wanted to ask her a few questions, but seeing her like this, her heart ached for her, "Although Physician Murong says you're fine, you still hit your head and need more rest. Mother will go to the kitchens to give you something to delicious to eat so you can improve your health."

Saying that, she helped Mínghuì adjust the blankets and told Cui'er, "Stay here and take good care of her."

When the second lady went away, Mínghuì called to Cui'er, "Come here."

Dōngfāng Lì Zhū went straight to the point, "Ninth sister, I must talk with you, send your maidservant away."

"Cui'er, stand outside to guard the door, come back in when I call for you."

After Cui'er left and closed the door, Mínghuì smiled before saying, "Fourth sister, to come here all this way, what do you wish to inquire?"
