 Ren stared down at his younger sibling but Elise had nothing in particular to say.

That night dinner ended abruptly in a awkward atmosphere . 

"I have something to think about .So I will go ahead to my room."

Then she went back to her room.

Chris glanced at his older brother.

"Brother you came home in such a long time .Why are you going after her?"

"I was just being honest with my thoughts."

"Do you have any idea how good she has been lately?"

"Good? That girl?"

Ren snorted which set Chris off.

"Big bro ,Yo haven't even been looking at her ! These days she been...!"

"I have been watching her over fifteen years but now you say she been good ? I rather believe the sun roses from the west."

"Big bro!"

Chris tried to raise his voice but Ren shook his head.

"No more nonsense.Stop .I need to go back to the knights."

Chris sighed deeply.

This stubborn and inflexible elder brother of his will never believe she had changed unless he see it with his own two eyes.

'Even if he saw it I don't know if he will believe since he always like to suspect something up first.'

"You been busy lately.When will you come back?"

"Who knows.I think it will be difficult for a while."

"The gun bridge is going to stay out of the Klin expedition right?"

The baron nodded his head.

"The Klin expedition for now is going to covered by the second corps but if  the Republic of Francois  decide to join in  then we the royals knight gun bridge will also attend."

"Then there is a chance you will have to attend."

"Yes ,obviously it not like Commonwealth will just give up on the control of the sea."

The weather was cool so Ren put on a light coat .

"Chris do it well."

"What?''

"Everything.At home you must take care of the family. At the executive branch you must take care not to smear our dad reputation."

Chris snickered.

"What up with the pointless scolding ! You're the one who has to be careful of bullets!"

Ren  grin back.

"Alright .I guess I'll see you next time."

Meanwhile Elise threw herself on the bed and was deep in thought.
'What can I do? There only two months until the banquet.'

Elise tried to remember the crown prince.
Getting married to him was her life's greatest mistake.If she hadn't marry him her life wouldn't have ended so tragically.
'For his sake and mine I need to stop this marriage.'
But there was one problem.
This engagement happen after she persisted very strongly on it.
One year ago , when she was just fifteen she felt in love at first sight.
To call it a temporary  crush   her infatuation was too big .It had led her to actually getting physically sick with a high fever. She always had to get what she wanted so she pestered her Father into getting a engagement with the prince.
'That was the problem. It worked .'
Her father the Marquise Ed del Choleres  was this country greatest chancellor and the king closest friend. The King was more then willing to make blood ties with his most trusted official. This was where all the tragedy started.
'Hah. it not like I can say I changed my mind. And it the engagement with the crown prince.If the announcement goes out it can't be cancel according to the royal reputation. what can I do?'
She worried for a long time.
Even through the day pa.s.sed her by she couldn't come up with a clear answer to her problem.
What can one do to overturn a decision the King has decide upon with all his heart.
However while she was thinking with a troubled face Mary came in.

"Lady , have some tea."

Mary set a cup of warm tea down.

"Thank you  as usual ,Mary."

"......."

However Mary didn't leave but loitered for a while .

"Huh ? What wrong Mary ?"

"Miss...I"

"...."

She  loitered for a long time and then opened her mouth.

"I don't know what it is ......but please don't worry .It will surly work out .''

The young maid turned bright red and she lowered her head.

"Your expression was so bad since yesterday .I am sorry for forgetting my place."

At these words she who s.p.a.ced out slowly laughed and said.

"Marry can you please come here?"

"Yes."

As Mary came closer she patted Mary head moved by her commendable behavior .

"Thank you. Our Mary you have completely matured into a adult."

'Our Mary'
That word made her heart skip a beat .It was a word she had never heard from anyone.
The lady who changed was really strange.She was just a sixteen old teenager but acted very motherly like a very mature older sister .
'Please don't change.Stay like this forever.'
Mary made a wish and left the room.

Elise drank her tea and thought .

"That right .No matter how long I worried there no answer."

Her eyes darken.

"There only one answer."

She laid down her tea cup.

"A frontal attack .I need to tell my wishes directly to the King.There no other way."

After all in Elise's body was Ji Hyun mind .She looked soft but was a iron blooded straight forward surgeon deep down to the very marrow of her bones. In fact living on earth she never had to be slick or astute in her life. Every problem she faced head on.
Cutting the Gordian cord.
It means to cut a tangled knot and it was the favorite way for a surgeon to solve things.
'I might get a big punishment.'
She was the one who kept asking for the engagement and now she was the one backing out.
Even if the King as his best friend daughter  considered  her  like a niece he will still probably get mad.
'There no helping it even if I get punished I deserve it but I must cancel this engagement .'
With that thought she started to plan .
Even if you're going to cut a tangled knot you should still need to  plan out every step .
In this way she try to think of a way to lesson the King anger and how to get him to reasonably hear her out.

A chance to meet the King came sooner then expected.
The King had invited the father and daughter as a pair to tea.
'I guess he wants to check me out one time since I'm going to be queen.'
This was not the first time meeting the King since the marquise and the King was so close even as a child she had met him several times and he doted on her like a cute niece

"Lady what style of dress  should we order from the designer Evelyn ?"

"No ,it Okay I will wear a dress I already own."

"Yes, but....are you sure you're fine with that?"

"yes, after all I have so many dresses."

"but...."

Elaine thought while shaking her head.
'What useless extravagance.'
In the past whenever she went to the ball or made a visit to the royal palace she always custom made a new dress for herself. Of course it always had to be made from the most luxurious materials.If she sold even one of the dress she threw away after wearing once a huge amount of money could be earned.
'That kind of pointless vanity isn't important.'
When she lived as Song Ji Hyun the surgeon she never needed to dress herself up.
She didn't have the time or the ability. She also was tired of all those frivolities from her first lime .All that vanity and extravagance sicken her to her very bones.
'What important is only what inside."
With that thought she enter her dressing room. Even after throwing away   a mountain of clothes there were still  tons of eye catching flamboyant dresses everywhere.

"What dress should we do? What about this one?

Mary took out a vivid  red dress .It was as splendorous as a rose .It would look good as Rose on her pale skin /

"No, do we have anything more plainer ?"

"How about this?"

"No it too pompous....."

 Elise pondered while looking around her dressing room .
'There nothing suitable to wear.'
Unlike her first life in her second life she hated anything flashy .
'The doctor's scrubs are most comfortable.'
It wasn't like she could go greet the king while wearing her doctor coat.Is there nothing simple  in here ? It can't just be plain it need to look elegant while simple.After digging for a long time she was able to find a style she liked.She had found a simple yet elegant dress.

"I will go with this."

"Really ? Are you sure you will be satisfied with just this?''

"yes, I like this one."

She looked at the white neat dress and nodded.

"lady is so pretty that a fancy dress would suit you more."

Mary pouted but Elise just put on the dress firmly.

"Anyways ,Mary."

"Yes?"

"Did what I asked for ,from the butler arrived?"

"Yes, my lady. It will arrive soon on the estate."

"Good. thank you.Can you check one more time with the butler so it doesn't arrive late? "

"Yes."

Elise just look at the window as the day came by closer.
'In just three days.'
It was not a exaggeration to say her very life depended on this meeting with the King.
'I will absolutely.'
She put on her game face.
