Astrid: “Wolf-sensei, Wolf-sensei”

Completely finis.h.i.+ng the basics of Elemental Magic, right now, I'm studying the application of Blood Magic. It's the magic that could heal or worsen wounds. I wonder if it's alright to teach people a magic that can worsen wounds though…

But I do have some interest in it.

Astrid: “Let's see…if you have more books about Blood Magic, then please bring those as well. I've read and understood the introductory chapter, so I want to read the practical application chapter to prepare for the next cla.s.s.”

To make sure that I didn't become just that, to start, I still have my innocence and I understand my limits. I want to behave myself!

I got a bit ahead of myself with the case of me defeating the livestock burglars, but that was thanks to Wolf-sensei who taught me and uncle Gnome.

Don't get ahead of yourself; don't be arrogant.

You should live a humble life, or something like that.

Astrid: “T-this is difficult…”

The next day, I was given the paper by Wolf-sensei, but it's terrifyingly difficult.I studied social sciences, yet this paper presented numerical formula, graph, and character strings that I don't understand. Direct hit to my brain!

It's like…I just don't understand, but I kept reading it over and over again as if I'm about to lase a hole in it. Yet I wonder, is it just me or is it becoming more incomprehensible the more I read it? I'm sure it's just me.

Thankfully, I heard the summary of the paper from Wolf-sensei, so I can imagine what the content is about. The mana in an object that can be controlled are a mere 1/500 than the mana you possess. You can't move any more than that.

Me, personally, I would like to read and understand the content of this paper to figure out what are the conditions of this restriction and find the component to lift it, but I shouldn't have expected less from the joint research result of three of the Saint Satanaquia Magic Academy's professors; I can't just reverse that research result so easily…even though only being able to move 1/500 of mana isn't going to do me any good…

Oh, right. Let's try to think from why the Orihalcon cannot permeate mana.

Orihalcon is used as a total mana isolator. You cannot conjure Orihalcon nor can you conduct magic and alter it.

With that said, I hypothesized that there might be differences in mana conductivity and control depending on the substance. The substance used in the paper is water, but probably it could probably be conducted or controlled better in metals like steel.

What should I do? I might create a breakthrough of the century…

While I was thinking such amateurish idea, someone knocked on the door.

Maid: “Ojou-sama, are you still awake?”

Astrid: “Yes, I'm going to read this paper just a little bit more before sleeping.”

Maid-san asaked with an astounded voice, while I'm only waving my hand about.

Maid: “Shall I prepare some tea?”

Astrid: “Yeah, thanks!”

There are a lot of Maids are kind and thoughtful in our house. I mean, if they are not they won't be coming along while I test my guns, right?

Maid: “Here you go, Ojou-sama. This is Lemongra.s.s Herb tea to help you have a good sleep.”

Astrid: “Thank you! If possible can I have some cookies…?”

Maid: “It is said that if you eat before sleeping, you will gain weight.”

As kind and thoughtful as they are, this Maid-san of our house is just as equally strict.

Maid: “At any rate, Ojou-sama, you sure have changed a lot…I lament on how you had become become less obedient. even toward the master and the lady.”

Astrid: “Eh? Is that so?”

Rinse and repeat.

I've barely any memories of talking to my parents!

Rather than that, if father disowns me, forget taking Wolf-sensei's cla.s.s, I can't enroll into the academy! I'm broke, you know!

Astrid: “I've got to do something about this, or else it would be bad, huh?.”

Maid: “Yes, it would be bad.”

Maid-san nodded to what I said.

Astrid: “Yos.h.!.+ This Astrid will change her heart from tomorrow and cheer up mother and father!”

Maid: “That's the spirit, Ojou-sama. But rather than from tomorrow, why don't you do it from today? The date had changed, you know?”
