Chapter 568.1
Adventures of s.h.i.+ (3)
“…What is this?”
I started flying through the sky, looking for s.h.i.+, but then something strange reflected on the [map]…
The area they were in didn’t register on my map.
It was as if that area were a separate zone, and there was a blank spot on the map that wouldn’t fill in.
If I look at the place with my eyes, I should understand why it was like this… but I’ve never experienced anything like this before.
The blank area was right near where I had been just a moment ago.
As I could not see the blue dots of s.h.i.+ and Sakuya, who were supposed to be my allies, it seemed likely that they were in that area.
“…Is that a dungeon too?” (Yuki)
There was no doubt that that area was a separate realm. The fact that I still couldn’t see them even when I was above their markers meant that they were in a separate s.p.a.ce, but within this area.
Since Lefi didn’t mention anything about it, then it meant even she didn’t notice that abnormal s.p.a.ce.
Then, I guess the captain and the other people in this country didn’t notice it either. On the map, it was a blank area, but there were buildings lined up where it was as usual.
…Well, to be honest, there’s a possibility that Lefi was so excited about the trip that she just overlooked it.
Besides, it was kind of a situation that I’d never encountered before, so even if I’d felt something strange. There was a possibility that I simply subconsciously ignored it.
“…whatever, I’ll just have to find a way in and see for myself.”(Yuki)
I was flying high up in the sky, looking out over the distance, but then I flew down low and entered the area which didn’t update on the [map]… Hmm?
I felt some strange magic power, but the next moment, it was gone.
No… there’s probably nothing down here.
I guess I missed the “entrance”…
I could tell that by my senses
As a proof, the blank area on the [map] was filled in, showing everything like normal.
And when I flew back up to high alt.i.tude and returned to where I had started, as I had expected, that area was once again blank on the [map].
“It’s like you can’t get in unless you do it the right way… Is it some kind of spatial magic?”
The [Item Box] I use, and the [Teleportation Doors] that connect each point in the dungeon.
s.p.a.ce magic was a magic that could connect coordinate s.p.a.ce, or sever the continuity of the s.p.a.ce.
s.h.i.+ and Sakuya have probably entered this special s.p.a.ce through a backdoor, but I, on the other hand, failed to enter it. That meant the entrance through which I tried to enter it earlier was most likely the actual entrance.
…I thought I’d be able to find them right away, but this might be harder than I thought.
Anyway, I couldn’t do this alone. I think it would be better if Lefi… and Layla came as well.
“…But why is there something like this in the center of the capital?” (Yuki)
◇◇◇
“So, nee-san got furious! Seeing this, Master ran away right away, but he was still caught and tied up! However, they get along really well! They might look like they’re arguing, but that’s how they communicate!” (s.h.i.+)
The skeleton shook its jaw and laughed, [Kukaka, I see. They’re a fun couple. I bet they’re lively every day.]
s.h.i.+, who was basically not afraid of anything and possessed the talent to quickly become friends with anyone, was able to enjoy a conversation with someone who looked scary without worrying about anything.
The monster skeleton had not had a conversation with anyone else in a long time. So, it was more pleasant than expected to have someone else there to exchange words with, and it was fun to listen to the small, cute s.h.i.+ talking so earnestly.
Therefore, their casual conversations were very lively.
