[Chapter edited by: Chinthani]
Because of a change in the number of disciple, Huan Mo didn't go to the place where one's own disciple were guided, but rather the place where the Inner Disciples were guided.
YunGe had the greatest cultivation base among the disciples in the Lin generation. This also meant that none of the other Lin generation disciples had a disciple yet. At the moment, Huan Mo was the only Huan generation disciple. All the disciples crowding the entrance could be considered as Huan Mo's Martial Uncles.
It was precisely because of this that YunGe accompanied Huan Mo on her first day
What kind of person was Huan Mo to YunGe? She was cute, diligent, and most importantly, she was YunGe's heart warmer.
Without the privileges of a disciple (that is, an Eldest Disciple), Huan Mo could only study with disciples who had different spiritual roots. YunGe felt uneasy.
Actually, YunGe was really just thinking too much. Even if everyone knew that their Martial Niece couldn't draw energy into her body, they would not dare show their facial expression. She couldn't do it, but was still persistently accepted by Lin generation's number one. If not for this inability, she would have been the Eldest Disciple. So even though they had never spoken to this Martial Niece, they all knew better than to anger this person!
When YunGe led Huan Mo to the peak of the mountain designated as the introductory guide area, all the people present respectfully looked at the disciple hiding behind YunGe.
YunGe felt a bit anxious. Huan Mo was holding the hem of her robes, and YunGe recalled a group of brats crying and running back to her. Of course, her Huan Mo was not one of those brats. Though, without a doubt, it was to be expected that Huan Mo would be scared of being left alone for the first time.
YunGe crouched down. “Mo mo, if you're scared we can go back?” Actually, YunGe just wanted to take her disciple back home. At the moment, she was still too young, but YunGe was aware of her disciple's wish to become stronger. After all, not every person who couldn't cultivate would insist on secretly going up the cold and snowy mountain on a daily basis.
Because of this, YunGe was at a loss. Sooner or later, Huan Mo would find out she had no way of cultivating in this life.
YunGe hoped that day would come later.
“No, master.” Huan Mo's face clearly showed a timidity of someone who rarely came come in contact with other people, yet it was her perseverance that took over. “I am master's disciple…” Huan Mo let go of the hems of YunGe's robe and walked towards the guide at the entrance.
Looking at the resolute back of her disciple, YunGe's feelings were complex. She was her disciple, so what did it have anything to do with cultivating?
The disciples took turns to play to role of a guide as a sect task. Nearly every disciple would have to take up this job at least once.
YunGe was a little surprised. This time, the disciple responsible for acting as a guide was actually the head of the eldest disciples, Fu Yan.
She had only met him once. At the time, she had only just entered. This was soon after she had transmigrated, lacking proper understanding about anything. At that time, Fu Yan had already become the head of the eldest disciples.
With Fu Yan's position, his social status ought to have been higher than that of YunGe. However, his cultivation base could not hold a candle to YunGe. Therefore, he also had to address her as “Senior Martial Sister.”
“Junior Martial Brother, Fu Yan” YunGe nodded to greet him.
It had been 10 or so years since the last time she met him. Fu Yan's temperament was gentler compared to their previous encounter. He was worthy of being called Yunfu School's well-known “Gentleman Who Conceals His Blade.” A gentleman like a polished jade.
“Senior Martial Sister can be rest a.s.sured, I will look after Martial Niece.” Fu Yan smiled gently, looking at YunGe with an inscrutable expression.
Being looked at like this, YunGe's scalp felt numb. Even in her past life, she had never liked being looked at with this gaze. It made her feel uncomfortable. “Then I would have to trouble you.”
[(Note- Everyone talks in 3rd person when speaking to each other(such as “Junior/Senior …”). Shows respect/formality.)]
The surrounding disciples threw a curious glance.
Yet, no one was brave enough to step forward and speak. After all, given how high the social status of these two were, who would even have the guts?
After YunGe determined her disciple wasn't crying, she left.
Instead of returning to the cave and meditating, YunGe went to Yunfu School's library.
Although she had been in this world for so many years, she has been to the library only once, which was at the beginning. At the time, she used almost every minute to cultivate, hoping to be stronger in order to be able to survive when disaster struck. And so she lived a life different from the other traditional disciples.
Seeing YunGe walk in, the people in the library pavilion quickly greeted her with “Senior Martial Sister.”
“I'll find it myself.” YunGe walked past them and up to the second floor.
She wanted to know whether her disciple's situation had any precedents and whether it would be possible for her to cultivate. Or perhaps she could find a way to cultivate without needing to let energy into her body.
Soon it was time for her disciple to be finished with YunFu school for the day, but YunGe was not successful in finding anything useful. She returned to her cave and found Huan Mo, whose eyes were glistening.
“Master…” Seeing YunGe in that split second, she threw herself at her. “I missed you!” Said the little kid as she used her cheek to rub against YunGe's cheek. “Does master also miss me?”
YunGe returned the action. “Missed.”
“Hehe…” Huan Mo responded with satisfaction, smiling foolishly. Her eyes were like a sun radiating warmth and light.
“…” YunGe felt some indescribable grievance. This child…
“Master, let me tell you something! Today, Martial Uncle taught us a lot!” Huan Mo was unwilling to let go, so her sweet voice gathered in the side of YunGe's ear, talking about the day's events.
YunGe rubbed little Huan Mo's head. “It's day one and you've already been bought over by your Martial Uncles? Are you getting ready to leave me and go to your Martial Uncles?”
“Of course not!” The kid pouted, feeling wronged. “Master is the best! I have countless Martial Uncles, but only one treasured master! Right! Master is my treasure! All the Martial Uncles are f*cks!” She spoke cautiously, using a childlike manner to speak…
YunGe was on the verge of suffering a stomach ache from laughing. “Who did you learn this from?” YunGe poked her disciple's forehead.
Seeing YunGe laughing until she was out of breath, Huan Mo was not happy. Huan Mo pouted, puffing her cheeks, and didn't say anything. It seemed as if a layer of fog shrouded her eyes. She turned away, not wanting to look at YunGe.
YunGe hastily ceased her teasing and, very cautiously, extended a hand to pole her disciple's cheek. The disciple continued to ignore her. Then, she saw that it suddenly started to rain through the thin layer of fog. The rain fell, pattering against the back of her hand.
YunGe jumped in fright. “Why are you crying? Master was just teasing. Don't cry, master knows that in your mind, master is precious!” YunGe was only teasing her, but it seemed to have hurt her self-esteem. YunGe thought to herself: the disciple truly has a gla.s.s heart ah!
“Master…” The disciple turned around and tearfully looked at YunGe. Her tone feeling extremely wronged. “I only have one master, while master will have many disciples…” The disciple's tears fell even more, her tone feeling more wronged. “Would master still want me…?”
YunGe was dumbfounded. So this was why…
How did Huan Mo come to the conclusion that she would have more disciples to replace her? -> She didn't bring this topic up in the past and now she does? Today was also her first day in school -> Then did someone say something to Huan Mo? -> Because of the disciple's peculiar physique? -> She didn't know how much the disciple had grieved to become like this!
YunGe ended her imaginations and hugged her disciple tightly. “Huan Mo, be good. Not matter how many disciples I have, none of them are you!” YunGe thinks that even if she accepts another disciple, regardless if they were to be her Eldest Disciple, she would not treat them like they way she treated Huan Mo.
“…” Huan Mo leaned into YunGe's embrace. YunGe could not see Huan Mo's mouth tilting upwards.
She was her master. Why would she be anyone else's?
YunGe frowned. Who was it that said this in front of her disciple? Causing her disciple to suffer. YunGe began visualizing countless scenes. The more she imagined, the more she felt like her disciple had been wronged. “Mo mo, don't worry. From here on, if I want to accept another disciple, I must ask for your approval first. Is that alright?” YunGe had intended to look for an Eldest Disciple to protect the girl, so this requirement was normal.
Huan Mo heard this and her tears immediately gave way to smiles. *baji* A kiss, mixed with teardrops or something, was planted on YunGe's cheek. “Master is the best!”
