Chapter 27.1: Heaven's on My Side!

"Is that right? You are willing to give up everything for Little Xi, including the high status and authourity you hold, and even your life?"

Duanmu Xue's eyes were watching Xuanyuan Mo closely, not wanting to miss any single expression that pa.s.ses over his face.

Dunmu Xue then nodded to herself inside.

Suddenly, Duanmu Xue shot a bolt of indigo coloured mystic energy straight at Xuanyuan Mo, catching Xuanyuan Mo completely off guard as he scrambled to release blue mystic energy to block the blow.

Duanmu Xi did not understand why Duanmu Xue would suddenly strike. Wasn't everything going in very well just now?

"Little Xi, you do not need to be worried. Your mother is merely testing his skills. Everything will be fine."

Huangfu Che patted Duanmu Xi on the shoulder rea.s.suringly, as he comforted her in a soft voice."

After several hundred blows, the two of them then stopped.

[He will protect her, at all cost…..]

"Haha…. My Little Xi has quite a good eye. When you come of age, this Emperor Mother will make a proposal in marriage to the White Tiger Kingdom for you, for you to bring the kid over here in marriage, to prevent him from being s.n.a.t.c.hed away by others."

Duanmu Xue's teasing immediately caused the faces of the two young people to flush red in embarra.s.sment.

"Alright, don't tease them anymore and let them go get some rest. There's still a banquet later tonight."

Seeing the embarra.s.sed looks of the two people, Huangfu Che stepped forward to help them out of the situation.

"Right. They really should get some rest." Duanmu Xue nodded, and then turned to Red Maple beside her to say: "Escort the Crown Princess and Young Master Xuanyuan to the Eastern Palace to rest."

"Your servant shall comply with the orders."

With Duanmu Xi's two personal maids Zi Wan and Zi Yan, one was at that moment adding hot water into the bathtub while the other was scattering flower petals inside.

As the two of them busied themselves with their tasks, they would occasionally turn to look at Duanmu Xi who was seated beside the window.

Her Highness the Crown Princess had really come back and it felt so unreal like they were just dreaming it all.
