Chapter 655: The Meet-up
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
A few days had pa.s.sed, and this was the very first time Xiang Wan was brought out of the dark room.
Outside was a big living room hall that looked rundown but clean. The decoration was simple but all basic furniture was there. There was only one window in the living room. From the gap between the curtains, she could see that it was dark outside.
It was night time.
Other than that, she was unable to gather more information about the place.
Xiang Wan looked at Ye Lun who was sitting on the sofa.
“Where are you bringing me?”
Ye Lun smiled. “To watch a show.”
Watch a show.
Xiang Wan was definitely not in the mood for that.
From the confident look on Ye Lun, he must already have a plan in mind.
Xiang Wan didn’t want Cheng Zheng to risk his life for her but there was nothing she could do at that moment.
“Can I not go?”
Eh?
That was rather out of the blue.
Even Ye Lun was caught by surprise.
After that, he simply smiled and ignored her. Crossing his legs, he took the walkie-talkie which was in front of him.
“Come in!”
Xiang Wan tilted her head and looked towards the door. She saw two young men looking like thugs walking into the room. They were holding ropes and some cloth. Her face immediately turned pale at that sight.
However, this time, she kept quiet.
Ye Lun looked at her expression and gave a pleased smile.
“To be on the safe side, please cooperate with us.”
“…”
“After all, you don’t want any of us to be in danger, right?”
As Ye Lun spoke, he took a clean white cloth to wipe the pistol in his hand. It was an exquisite looking small pistol. Although Xiang Wan knew nothing about guns, she could tell from the design and condition of the pistol that it was well-loved by its owner.
Ye Lun had taken great care of the gun.
He wiped it over and over again, wearing a smile as his two henchmen tied Xiang Wan up.
“You will feel some discomfort,” he teased, “but it will pa.s.s soon. It’s nothing, really.”
He sounded warm, as though he was just playing a harmless prank on Xiang Wan.
Xiang Wan glanced at him without any expression.
At that moment, the best option was to keep still and quiet. It was certainly not the time to put up a resistance.
Ye Lun laughed, “Do you think this Cheng Zheng would go back on his words?”
Xiang Wan raised an eyebrow but continued to keep quiet.
“He said that he will come alone and will definitely not inform the police. However…” Ye Lun touched his eyebrow as he continued, “I don’t quite trust him. What do you think?”
Of course Xiang Wan wouldn’t comment on that.
She lowered her gaze and stayed still, like a block of wood.
Ye Lun stroked the body of the pistol as though he was caressing his beloved. He took a quick glance at her then blew twice at his pistol as he finished up the cleaning.
“Bring her along.” He instructed the two of them.
…
Once again Xiang Wan returned into a world of darkness.
They put a dark cloth over her head and she could see nothing.
She couldn’t speak as she was gagged.
She was controlled by them as they dragged her away.
Fear started to creep into her heart like a poisonous snake. She felt her scalp numb and her body chilled all over.
It was a feeling of hopelessness.
Her life was no longer in her hands yet she had to stay calm so she could focus on listening to her surroundings…
Everything was silent around her.
Not even a single sound could be heard.
Ye Lun quietly sat next to her and didn’t talk to anyone.
She had no idea how many men he had with him as everything was quiet.
The car moved on the road slowly. Xiang Wan could only feel that the path was b.u.mpy.
The road was pretty uneven as the car drove along. She didn’t know how long time had pa.s.sed when the car finally slowed down.
“Are we there?”
“Yes”
“Has he arrived?”
“Hmm… he’s not there yet.”
“Let me have a look!”
She heard the conversation between them.
Xiang Wan drifted off a little but soon heard Ye Lun’s laughter.
“There, drive the car over there.”
“Roger!”
The car then moved a short distance before stopping again.
The cloth over Xiang Wan’s head was removed by Ye Lun. She could finally see something again. However, the sky was pitch dark. There was nothing to see in the wee hours at all.
She turned and looked at Ye Lun, confused.
“This is the place that I will be meeting with your lover,” explained Ye Lun with a teasing tone. He was holding a pair of binoculars and looked outside after he rolled down the car window. “Do you want to take a look?” Ye Lun asked as he adjusted the binoculars.
But Xiang Wan didn’t show any reaction.
“This binoculars not only has night vision, it can also see through fog… it cost me a bomb. Are you sure you’re not interested in taking a look?”
Xiang Wan: “…”
Even if she was interested, there was no point.
Would he untie her?
Would he really pa.s.s the binoculars to her?
He would be crazy to do that.
Xiang Wan kept quiet and slowly got accustomed to the darkness around her as Ye Lun spoke. She noticed that she was on top of a hill. Ye Lun parked the car at a very strategic spot. It was camouflaged nicely by the surrounding trees and yet he was able to have a full view of the road below—all thanks to the binoculars with night vision capability.
He could see Cheng Zheng clearly from there.
But Cheng Zheng wouldn’t be able to see him.
He was definitely up to no good for picking such a location to meet up.
“He’s here…”
Some time pa.s.sed and Ye Lun suddenly laughed.
Xiang Wan tried her best to look out what was outside… but she couldn’t see anything at all.
Ye Lun turned around and observed her expression with interest. He linked the binoculars up with his phone and got his henchmen to hold it for Xiang Wan to see.
She could see a car arriving at an open area below the hill.
After a short moment, a car honk was heard, resonating through the valley.
Honk—!
Honk, honk—
Honk, honk, honk—
That was the signal which was previously communicated between them.
Cheng Zheng was telling Ye Lun that he had arrived.
The edges of Ye Lun’s lips were lifted upwards as he looked on coldly at Chen Zheng’s car.
After that, Cheng Zheng honked twice.
Ye Lun then took his mobile phone.
The account which was used to publish the murderer’s script contained a new message from Cheng Zheng.
“I’m here. Where are you?”
There was a faint smile on Ye Lun’s face. It seemed that he was playing a cat and mouse game with him. “I can see you. Are you able to see me?”
“I see nothing.”
“Oh, I forgot. You wouldn’t be able to see me.”
“…”
That should be one of the most uncomfortable moments?
The other party could clearly see him but he couldn’t do the same.
Cheng Zheng observed the surroundings. “How are we going to deal?”
Tsk! Ye Lun let out a mocking chuckle with delight and he typed fast as well. “I feel unsafe and I don’t feel like meeting you.”
“We already agreed to meet.”
“So? I can always have a change of heart.”
“Ye Lun, since you wanted the HW gas, then you have to know when to grab the opportunity…”
“No, no, no… I was wondering if your b.u.t.t is clean?”
“…”
Apparently, Cheng Zheng couldn’t get what he meant.
Ye Lun found it amusing and continued to type. “I mean, maybe a group of police officers are following behind your b.u.t.t?”
Cheng Zheng replied, “I came here alone and didn’t inform anyone.”
Ye Lun asked, “Why should I trust you?”
Cheng Zheng messaged back. “You can always send your men to check if you don’t believe me.”
“How ’bout this? You get down the car now, take what I want and walk to the south. You’ll see a big tree, it’s the only one there. Just message me when you’re there.”
