I've Decided to Start Cooking Since I Found Out the Losing Potion was Soy Sauce
Chapter 75: Useful Children, Useless Adults「Rofas-san, do you drink alcohol? The thing I'm going to make now goes well with them.」
I asked Rofas-san.
「Saga, you got some alcohol on you?」
「……Okay, fine. I'll give you some. In exchange, I'll be joining you.」
Fufufu~
I'm really lucky~
After all, these losing antidote herbs… They look, smell, and taste just like that…
「Uhya, that stinging feeling! I can feel it in my nose!」
The flavor was strong with a crispy spiciness to it.
Wasabi.
Wa, sa, bi!
Of course you'd suffer from eating this by accident.
Even so, these were no losing herbs. Wasabi is a winner!
One of the soul foods of j.a.panese people! ……Actually, just how much soul food did j.a.panese people have?
But wasabi won't grow unless the environment is prepared in a certain way. The country of origin is j.a.pan, and there weren't any at the vegetable field above the dungeon, so…
I thought I would never be able to get my hands on them… I'm so happy!
Ah, tears were coming out.
Oh, these tears were coming out because it's too spicy. I got carried away and put too much grated wasabi into my mouth.
There was a tool we could use to grate the wasabi. Or rather, it was probably meant to be used with something else, but it could be used to grate the leaves, so let's do that.
「Yuuri, are you okay? Man, it really was the losing version.」
Rofas-san looked at me with concern seeing how I was squinting with tears in my eyes.
「Ah, nii-san, why are you making Yuuri-chan cry?!」
Saga came back to the hut holding a bottle of alcohol, and ran up to me in a panic.
Geez, these two look nothing alike, yet they're exactly the same when it comes to being nice to children.
……Are you okay? Did something happen? Are you hurt?……
「I'm fine, and I'll call you over when the food's ready… Sagsan, please go back to work. Rofas-san, you caused trouble for Sagsan, so please help him out.」
Also, they were kind of in the way.
I was starting to glare at them.
「O-okay.」
Rofas-san stretched.
「Fufufu, Yuuri-chan, you really are amazing. You can even make nii-san obey you.」
Sagsan left the hut while shrugging.
「Yuuri-neechan, we brought vegetables!」
Right after, Kurtz-kun and Kirikchan returned from the vegetable field.
「Thank you.」
These two were definitely more useful when it came to cooking.
「Alright then. Kurtz-kun, can you start cooking the rice? Kirikchan, can you wash the vegetables?」
「Okay. Kirika will go wash them!」
I asked them to pick some daikon and spring onions.
I was planning on making squid and daikon and replacing the squid with octopus, but I decided to change it a bit!
I mean, if we're talking about daikon, then it has to be that dis.h.!.+ Ah, but I don't know what the kraken tastes like, so let's just boil the daikon for now. We'll boil spring onions, daikon, and the dried meat together. I don't know what to call the dish though… Furof.u.ki daikon with spring onions and dried meat?
As useful as a stove running off of a magic stone was, you couldn't adjust the temperature easily, like lowering the heat when the water boils or turning the heat to low after a certain amount of time. You have to watch the food and adjust it yourself.
Not only could Kirikchan use a knife to butcher animals, she was skilled using one in general… It's just worrying to see a small child hold a kitchen knife. Well, she can't do any complicated cuts, but cutting a daikon into big chunks should be fine.
I'll be the one peeling the skin off though.
Author's Notes:
Thank you for reading, as always.
Um, so I guess some of the readers are… starting to get the「husband's side story withdrawal symptoms」. I haven't written it for a while.
No, hm, I don't have time, so I haven't written it…! So, we're still on the main story.
Well then, just as everyone expected, the losing antidote herb was wasabi. You can probably guess what the dish is if alcohol goes well with it!
……Don't worry about my drinking habits~ says Rofas-san… Even though he's guilty of all doing all sorts of things…
