Chapter 17

(If you're not reading this at our wordpress then this translation has been reposted without our permission. Please read this story at: )

Bai Tan was panting hard from Wu Yanfu tickling him. After sweating a lot, the drug finally wore off. As if he just woke up from a dream, yet, he could not comprehend what he and the yao ren were messing around about. Seeing the red crimson lip marks stamped all over the other's face, including his neck and chest. He looked like he had just been violated. It was then he finally realized that there was something odd about the rouge and quickly used a handkerchief to wipe it away, feeling extremely dismal down in his heart.

Good thing that the yao ren would not think much, would not spread it around, nor would he care about being taken advantage of. Bai Tan thought so and did not care much anymore. He downed a few mouthful of water, washed his face and went to the bed wanting to sleep. But the bed was too hard for him to bear and he could not help but start reminiscing about the tiger skin blanket. He searched through the boxes within the sedan to find a high-quality white cashmere windproof cloak. Tucked it under himself, and now he could lay down in comfort.

The sedan swayed like floating clouds. He laid on the soft cashmere cloak, embracing the two weapons, rolling around. Not knowing how long had pa.s.sed, he slowly fell asleep.

In his dream, the sky was icy-cold with the ground frozen. Snow piled on him like a thick blanket, crus.h.i.+ng him till he could barely breathe.

On the verge of death, a pair of hand dug him out of the snow and used his mouth to pa.s.s zhen qi[1] into him. He then took him into his warm embrace, rubbing their naked bodies in an intimate way and it made him become pa.s.sionate gradually. He shamelessly pestered the person seeking for more warmth. Not knowing how long had pa.s.sed, the real yet unrealistic sense of being intertwined disappeared. After the wave of emotion had gone down, all of it seemed like a traceless wet dream. No one was by his side. Instead, he was wrapped up within a beast's cut open stomach. He poked his head out, observing the surrounding, feeling lost. Then within the heavy snow, a human figure approached gracefully.

"s.h.i.+di[2]! You…is your body hurt?"

His eyes opened to look over, the youth in black bent over trying to scoop him out of the beast stomach. Only half-way through dragging him out, but his movements stopped. Then took off his own robe to wrap it around the other's exposed upper body.

Bai Tan then realized he was naked, he tried hard to suppress the shame. "Thank you, s.h.i.+xiong[3]."

"No need to thank me. It was s.h.i.+zun who realized you were missing, he personally ordered for me to come and search for you."

"He's just afraid that if I die, he won't be able to train."

He closed his eyes, tears leaked out the corners, instantly solidifying to ice.

"s.h.i.+xiong, could you please let me go? I don't wanna see s.h.i.+zun anymore."

"Let me go, I beg of you."

But Li Wuzhang did not let go, only took further steps to reach the peak of Tian Shan with him in his arms.   Bai Tan was trapped within his own nightmare, without knowing that all of his l.u.s.tful yet endearing demeanor was taken in by the eyes of another.

The snow yarn crepe-clothing embellished in gold wrapped around the young male's pale and beautifully structured body. He looked like a snake demon[4]  that had just taken a human form and it disturbed Wu Yanfu's mind, making it go up and down. At first, not knowing what kind of wet dream the other was having, it made him extremely irritated. But now seeing other's lips closing and opening, mouthing what seemed to be the two words of "s.h.i.+zun". His heart couldn't help but get stirred up. ——The other showed no mercy while annihilating his body[5], yet he called out s.h.i.+zun during a wet dream?

Wu Yanfu's throat tightened, fingers hung in midair. Its distorted shadow from the candle fire slowly caressed the young male's face. When his fingertips barely touched the skin that was as smooth as balm, it felt like he was scorched.

Bai Tan was not deep asleep in the first place. Now that Wu Yanfu had disturbed him, he woke up from his dream and stared back at the other's eyes awkwardly[6]. He was immediately startled and quickly sat up. Then felt something wrong with his lower half body.

He lowered his head to look, feeling angered and embarra.s.sed all at once. He grabbed a piece of silk handkerchief and wiped between his legs. He found a pair of xie ku[7] to change into then sat down crossed-legged to regulate his breath.

Practicing the Sky of Six Desires, e.j.a.c.u.l.a.t.i.n.g. was a big taboo. Letting it out once would create a loss to a yuan yang[8] once. If a person were to e.j.a.c.u.l.a.t.e three times within a month, then it would deal great damage to his yuan qi[9], hollowing the person out. Coming once from a wet dream was fine, but this time it was different. Especially when his body naturally did not have enough yuan qi, how could he handle this kind of continuous e.j.a.c.u.l.a.t.i.o.n?

Thinking that kind of thoughts, one hand of his slightly urged for zhen qi to flow into the Yin Jiao Qi Hai Xue[10], as expected; the zhen qi was a little frail, he couldn't help but become increasingly uneasy.

How, how should he deal with this now? He had not found his Concubine Ming, nor can he use the practice of Cai Yin Bu Yang[11].

He took one look at the yao ren and thought, high-graded yao ren's blood can treat hundred types of poisons, nourish neili[12]. But it probably can't be used to nourish Yuan Yang. This can't do, he must go search for some miraculous medicine.

Wu Yanfu could guess his thoughts completely, yet still asked as if he had no clue. "What is master troubled about?"

Bai Tan shook his head, did not respond and tried hard to remember the scrolls and books that he had memorized in the past.

He remembered a book mentioning that on this Silk Road journey, there was a mysterious place named "Shen Lou"[13].It was a Stone City that was left behind by a person from Da Qin which later became a resting place for travelers in the desert. It was said that the Stone City was hidden within quicksand, making appearance and disappearance throughout time. It was not a place that can be found by normal people. But it was filled with many different talented, odd, people and rare artifacts of Jiang Hu. Why not go and take a look?

He lifted open the curtain, calling for Ji Du who was the closest then sent out the order.

Ji Du smiled. "The place Sect Leader wishes to go is nearby." He said while pulling out a map to give a detailed explanation. Apparently, every time when Wu Yanfu and the others went to Xi Ye, they would always pa.s.s by "Shen Lou" as a short-cut. But since Bai Tan barely ever left the mountain, he didn't know.

"Oh, so that's how it is, it was I* who was ignorant!" Not allowing him to finish his explanation, Bai Tan s.n.a.t.c.hed the map and pull down the curtain. He was annoyed from the feeling of being treated as a child who was traveling far away for the first time. ——That Ji Du was definitely laughing at him behind his back, did he think he could not tell?

Feeling dejected[14], he ripped the map into tiny pieces and threw it outside, "Here, finished, take it."

Haha, Ji Du should be the idiot coming to ask him the next time.

"Sect Leader, you——" Ji Du fished in the rough wind but was not able to catch many pieces. He hopelessly sighed then took out a luo pan before returning to the front of line to direct the others.

Wu Yanfu watched his unreasonable actions from the side and wanted to grab the other into his arms and rubbed him relentlessly. If it were back when he was still alive, how would this little evildoer even dare to keep such a stubborn, spoiled behavior?

If he were to stand in front of him with his original appearance, the other would probably be so frightened that he would not dare to lift a single claw[15].

But now…

That uncomfortable tingling sensation behind his back came back again, Bai Tan turned his head around. Just to see the yao ren staring at him without moving, suspicions suddenly arise within him. He grabbed hold of the other's neck in one go, interrogating fiercely. "Why are you always staring at me? You peeked at me last night too, right? Did you regain your memories?"

Wu Yanfu shook his head obediently, then nodded again. "Ah Chi heard master sleep talk."

Bai Tan examined his expression then coldly asked. "What did I* say?"

Wu Yanfu thought for a bit, then spoke honestly. "Mn——it was…some words like, 's.h.i.+zun?'"

"Nonsense!" Bai Tan's face changed color rapidly. It was like numerous clouds turning the sky dark, looking like there was going to be a thunderstorm.

"Ah Chi did not lie, master was crying while calling out…Ah Chi even wiped tears for master."

"Shut it!" Bai Tan's shame instantly turned to anger and slapped the other across the cheek, hard enough for blood to leak out the corner of his mouth.

Wu Yanfu raised his eyes, wiping the blood off the corner of his mouth. Looked at him from down to up, "Ah Chi said something wrong?"

"Good that you know." Bai Tan took in a deep breath but smelled the sweet aroma coming from the other's blood. He gulped greedily and his anger died down instantly.

"Master, do you wanna drink my blood again?" Wu Yanfu offered his neck willingly, luring the other with a low voice. The man's slender long neck was so close, light blue veins were distinctive and beautiful, looking like several flowing springs.

Bai Tan sniffed his nose, couldn't help but bury himself into the crook of his neck. However, he only tasted it slightly by licking it a few times and biting down once then turned his head aside. Pus.h.i.+ng the other away, he clenched his teeth, "This won't do…"

Li Wuzhang was right, he needed to restrain himself. If this continues, he's going to become a mosquito!

He went to sit back on the bed, trying hard to control the thirst. He downed a few mouthfuls of wine, then opened the curtain for fresh air.

The sight from the desert had surprised him.

From not too far away, he could see waves of sand dancing violently and it seemed like it had erected a gauze curtain. He could see dots of fire floating up and down from within the wall of sand. The outline of a Stone City was vaguely in sight.

It's——Shen Lou!   "Sect Leader, the wind is strong outside. Do lower the curtain properly." Li Wuzhang said from outside.

Right after, the sedan entered the gauze curtain, as though it was barging in and gravels fell like tiny droplets of rain on top of the sedan body making pitter patter sounds. Right after, sudden uproars rose around the area.

Bai Tan lifted a corner of the curtain and his face was lit by the light that spilled in.

He was really like a child going out for the first time. With wide eyes, he peeked at the outside world in surprise. The Stone City was not too big, but its main street market was abnormally lively. Just like the book described, the stalls on the side of the street had many different rare exotic artifacts from varying places of the world. His eyes were filled with the sight of these beautiful and precious items. There were even wild beasts being sold and even he was unable to name many of those species.

Also like the images in the book, white stone pillars stood up straight and tall on the two sides of the street. Magicians and troupes of dancers tied ropes around pillars, jumping and leaping upon it while flinging items and spitting fire. Audiences would throw and scatter coins into the air. Some others gave such large amounts of money that it would look like a downpour. There were so much happening at the same time that it was chaotic.

They came in with Persian attires and were naturally a.s.sumed to be a group of merchants pa.s.sing by. Many stall owners surrounded them to promote their products. They probably presumed that the one inside the sedan was an actual Persian n.o.ble lady. Some even squeezed to the front with items like rouge[16] but were harshly pushed back by the rakshasas.

Seeing that Mi Sha had already jumped off his horse and was looking around, Bai Tan called out unhappily, "Hey, don't chase them away. I* want to go down and have a look."

Li Wuzhang heard the voice, ordered for them to stop. Walked up to the sedan and lifted up the curtain. Having a clear look at his attire, he could not help but blank out for a bit, "Sect Leader, you want to go down?"

Bai Tan dragged out a cloak to put on, exposing only a pair of eyes. "I* want to buy stuff!" He said as he jumped down by his own desire.

Wu Yanfu watched his back figure, remembering the scene where he took him down the mountains for the first time. That year was the first time Bai Tan saw the spring in Xi Jiang and he was just as elated, capering around like a sparrow. The boy who was only fifteen years old back then was running around on the plains in bright colored robes, like an angry horse and jumped to him, appearing in front of his eyes like a gust of wind.

The day that he thought he did not care much about, was in reality, so hard to forget.

"Hey, this Miss, have a look at this pair of bracelets!"

"Look at this longan agate!"

The moment he stepped out the sedan, the stall owners immediately surrounded Bai Tan like a swarm of bees.

With a cloak covering him, his structure appeared thin and small. Also, with his white-jaded colored bare feet accompanied by a pair of anklets, he was naturally a.s.sumed to be a female, but he didn't mind. Following Mi Sha, he started picking out items left and right from different stalls and booths. Wu Yanfu watched his figure and couldn't help but squint his eyes as ripples rose in his light blue pupils. Ji Du looked at him in secret and felt odd deep down.

s.h.i.+zun obviously wanted to kill this kid, but why does it seem like when the other is happy, he would seem to be pleased too?

He really could not understand. s.h.i.+zun's heart was truly harder to grasp than trying to fish for a needle in the sea.

"Ah, ah!" A burly boor squeezed to the front, he had a long braid and a long sleeved robe that had the left over the right[17]. He seemed like one of the Xi Qiang[18] people and there was an odor[19] all over him. He carried a sheep skull bowl, inlaid with gold, which contained a bunch of red-blood color items, odd fragrance a.s.sailed his nostrils.

Bai Tan smelled it, then felt slightly disgusted as his body heated up. He covered his mouth, "What is this? Move it!"

The Xi Qiang man started to make wild gestures and strokes. Speaking with yiyiwawa[20] noises that no one could understand.

Suo Tu blocked the Xi Qiang off to explain to him, "Sect Leader, this is Sheep Placenta Fragrance, it's for a woman's body. In order to satisfy their husbands…"

"Scram!" Bai Tan gagged a bit and couldn't stop feeling nauseated. But he reached out a hand to grabbed onto the braid of the Xi Qiang who was about to run away after seeing the situation turning bad. "Wait!"

The person was able to realize that he was a man through his voice, then seeing the hostility within the eyes of the few people. His face turned to a dirt-brown-like color from fear, and immediately starting speaking in fluent Tocharian[21]. "Please forgive me[22]!"

"Throw away that thing, I have a question to ask." Bai Tan covered his mouth and nose and pointed at the Sheep Placenta Fragrance.

The Xi Qiang unwillingly followed his words, "Pl, please ask!"

Bai Tan threw a glance over at the others, telling them to not listen in, then pulled him to the side and lowered his voice. "You sell medicine, right?"

The Xi Qiang nodded.

"Then, do you have, anything that's for men's use? What I mean is," Bai Tan's face was slightly burning up, good thing he was masked so he spoke without holding back. "nourishments for the body after losing sperms."

"Oh——" The Xi Qiang suddenly caught on, couldn't help but checked him out from head to toe for once. Thinking with the body that was oozing an inexpressible charm, he was definitely no ordinary man. No wonder he needed nourishment. He smiled widely, "There is, but that thing is to be killed and sold fresh. You have to pay double the price!"

"Of course." Bai Tan smiled coldly, taking out a piece of gold foil from the folds of his clothes for him.

The Xi Qiang's eyes immediately lit up, tucking the gold foil into his robes. He looked left and right. "You, follow me!"
