“That is an attempt at s.e.xual hara.s.sment.” Yan Se snapped her fingers at him. “I’ll consider us even now since I stole your soybean milk.”

Lu Bai was speechless. What an unreasonable woman! He had better leave, the sooner the better.

Yan Se waved goodbye to him. “See you tomorrow, handsome. If you’re not buying soybean milk tomorrow, I don’t mind fresh milk!”

Lu Bai walked even faster out of the door.

Lu Zhaoyang quickly pa.s.sed a steamed bun to Yan Se. “He is like a younger brother to me, so please leave him alone.”

Yan Se happily accepted the bun. “You gotta treat me with delicious meals to keep me happy then. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement.”

“Of course.” Lu Zhaoyang had Huo Yunting to thank for having to deal with this problem.

After breakfast, Lu Zhaoyang left for work.

Xiang Jinxi was in the office today. She had a meeting with him, but Yan Se was standing at the door pretending to be invisible. Fortunately, Xiang Jinxi did not mind her presence.

This was Yan Se’s first time seeing Xiang Jinxi, and she thought he looked familiar.

“Have we met?”

After the meeting, Yan Se approached the man and asked.

He looked familiar, but she could not figure out why. There was no way she would forget such a good-looking face, though.

“No.” Xiang Jinxi replied plainly and left without even looking at her.

Yan Se sidled up to Lu Zhaoyang with a thoughtful look. “Do you think… that he looked very familiar?”

“I have been working here for awhile, so of course I know his face. However…” Lu Zhaoyang brought her voice down to a whisper. “When I first met him, I had the same feeling, but I don’t remember where I have seen him before.”

“Someone we both know… Who could that be?” Yan Se narrowed her eyes in thought.

“The only people we know in common are probably Huo Yunting, Huo Li, and the staff in Thunderbolt Corp.” Lu Zhaoyang looked at her watch. “I have another department meeting to attend. Why don’t you take your time and think about this and while you eat?”

“Okay!”

An hour later, when Lu Zhaoyang stepped out of the meeting room, Yan Se had gone to the supermarket downstairs to buy some snacks.

When Lu Zhaoyang got back to her seat, she saw a post-it note left by Yan Se.

“I remember now. Xiang Jinxi looks like my boss!”

Lu Zhaoyang pictured them both in her mind… and found that they did look similar in some ways.

Nevertheless, there were many people in this world who also looked like other people and this was also certainly none of her business. She tossed the post-it note into the bin.

Xiang Jinxi nursed on a cup of black coffee as he watched the movements on his monitor.

One was working while the other was snacking.

The bodyguard had surprisingly keen eyes.

Qin An said, “President, should I ask a.s.sistant Lu to stop bringing her bodyguard to the office?”

“There’s no need. Huo Yunting was attacked a few days ago. He must be worried that someone would try to hurt Lu Zhaoyang.”

Xiang Jinxi took another sip of his coffee and put down his cup. He switched off the surveillance feed and opened his email.

After a few taps on the keyboard, Xiang Jinxi sent the email.

Lu Zhaoyang studied the email sent to her by the president closely.

“I will be away from the city for a while. Take care of things while I’m gone. Let me know by email if any issues arise.”
