“Owww…” Lu Zhaoyang moaned as she rubbed her belly.

I must finish this act or Xiang Jinxi would know I was faking it the whole time…

Both of them got into the elevator. Hearing the pulley graunching from above the elevator, Xiang Jinxi lowered his head and observed the lady next to him whimpering.

“Still hurts?”

“Y-yeah—Mhmm…” She forced her response concisely.

The next moment Lu Zhaoyang’s sight went up as Xiang Jinxi lifted her like a princess in his embrace, thinking that it would hasten their way to the hospital, although it scared Lu Zhaoyang so much she almost screamed.

And there she saw him. Huo Yunting, by the elevator.

Huo Yunting’s relaxed brows were immediately furrowed upon seeing the two of them as the elevator opened. “Ow…” The frown was more serious when he heard Zhaoyang.

Lu Zhaoyang closed her eyes, pretending that she did not see her man yet she could feel an impulsive energy brewing like a heat wave from the outside.

She opened her eyes, turned her head and saw Huo Yunting. She reached out her hand without hesitation.

She mumbled, “Big brother…”

“Ah. If it’s a sister of President Huo, I’ll let President Huo take over then,” said Xiang Jinxi, handing the woman over to Huo Yunting as he stepped out of the elevator.

Huo Yunting held her in his embrace as his eyes fixed upon her squeezed expression, his nose knotted by the stench of alcohol coming from her breath. He turned away and coldly informed his followers, “Enjoy the night yourselves.”

He left without a single word for Xiang Jinxi…

The night was chilly as the wind sliced through them when the gla.s.s door opened. Lu Zhaoyang was calm staying inside Huo Yunting’s embrace, like a baby in a cradle. The Rolls-Royce zoomed away after they both fastened their seat belts. She turned her head to Huo Yunting, “I was faking it—Sorry for making you missing the dinner. I don’t want to drink so much upstairs—So—I…”

“Yeah.”

The monosyllabic response was unexpected as Lu Zhaoyang blinked her eyes, “You saw through it?”

“Yeah,” muttered Huo Yunting, giving his woman a glimpse. He knew more than anybody else in this world, the actual expression his woman would make when in pain.

And that cheap acting skill did not fool him a couple minutes ago.

“Well—You missed your dinner, so—wanna have food together?” Said Zhaoyang, embarra.s.sed since she was the one who caused this after all.

“No, thanks.”

“Okay…” She looked through the window and checked out their location, “Well, you can drop me here. I’ll call an Uber.” There was no response from him. The car did not stop either as they drove directly back to the little quiet alley where Zhaoyang’s apartment was located.

The car was halted as Huo Yunting rested his arms over the steering, “Did you do anything sorry to me tonight?”

“No.” Zhaoyang knew her man meant the pills, “You are a walking period counter, I trust you.”

“Hah. What are you waiting for then? You want me to carry you upstairs?” It was Zhaoyang’s obedience that calmed Huo Yunting down a little.

“Well, I’ll head upstairs but you must remember to take food before drinking. No beers and wine till you have a filled stomach,” she ordered before leaving the ride.

Huo Yunting’s fingers fidgeted with the dangling car key plugged near the steering as he watched his woman leaving. He unplugged it and went after her.

He did not want incident last night to repeat so he decided to stay back for her.

Well, judging by the author’s mindset and how Huo Chen is nearby, he might probably ‘drop by’ tonight if I wasn’t here.

Dang, suddenly, I felt the need to bring her back home.

Zhaoyang slowed down her footsteps upon hearing the louder steps coming from behind at the narrow staircases. She held back and joined him to walk upstairs together when he caught up with her.

“So I forgot to ask you yesterday, has that Princess Morebucks visited you recently?”

“By the way, I didn’t eat anything just now. I’m hungry, I’ll make some supper and I can make you some if you want.”
