“Look at what you have done,” muttered Yang Yi, “If we do nothing about this, the pride of the military would cease to exist.”

“Who did this!” Wen He’s fingers crawled off the keyboard vigorously as rage and confusion filled her eyes.

“It does not matter who is behind this. The only thing that matters now…” Yang Yi put up a cold face, “Is to solve this now.”

Wen He was panting and felt her head pounding.

“Where’s Huo Chen?” She asked as she lifted her head.

I don’t care who started this rumor or the flame war. I just wanted to know if my man is safe.

“He’s at the confinement.”

“You locked him up?” Wen He slammed the table, “For what? He’s not wrong. I am!”

“Well, it should have been like this but when I summoned him here and instructed him the following moves to take…” Yang Yi grimaced upon her, “He chose to protect you and went against every of my orders. So, it is my obligation to lock him up at the moment.”

“You have a plan?” Said Wen He, her voice shook as she tried suppressing her agitation.

“Yes, as long as Huo Chen chooses to work with me, he would be safe. Likewise to you too.”

Nevertheless, the tone was not relieving to Wen He. At that stage, something must be sacrificed in order to calm the storm, she believed.

Her eyes partially closed as her eyelashes entangled each other like her feelings, “What is it?”

“It’s simple, really,” Yang Yi took a deep breath, “We only need Huo Chen to declare that he was unaware of your ident.i.ty during proposal and from that point he officially announced that he would forfeit his legal bonding with you. Then that’s it. Well, it won’t convince everybody but it would work, I promise.”

Wen He staggered, grabbed the edge of the table as she leaned forward.

Yang Yi continued expressionlessly, “A hero who saved the country can never be husband and wife with a terrorist. If you choose to turn a blind eye on this, Huo Chen would be terminated from his position while the both of you would be immediately exiled from Country Z. So, Wen He, there’s not much time left, what’s your answer?” His eyes fixed upon her somberly like the prosecutor in court.
