Jiang Song is a fit and tan middle-aged man. He heard what happened at the Bureau before he came.

“What are you all doing?” Jiang Song was furious.

A City Bureau staff replied quickly. “We contained the situation temporarily, Chief Jiang.”

Jiang Song coldly replied. “You all took so long to stop that guy! Where is he?”

The staff pointed towards Dong Xuebing. “Over there.”

A Deputy Chief asked angrily. “How did this happen? Tell us the details.”

Such an embarra.s.sing incident had never happened at their Bureau, and the leaders were furious.

Another staff replied. “That guy said he was looking for w.a.n.g Shen, Director w.a.n.g. The meeting was starting, and the guards refused to let him enter. He barged in and knocked out the guards and over a dozen staff who tried to stop him.

Jiang Song looked at him. “Over a hundred people cannot stop one person?”

That man replied. “He knocked out one person with one move. Almost twenty men were knocked out within seconds. We… we… can’t stop him.” He paused for a second and pointed at Dong Xuebing. “and… his left arm and leg seemed to be fractured, and his right leg also seemed to be injured.”

The few Deputy Chiefs inhaled deeply and looked at Dong Xuebing.

This was a joke. A severely injured person had barged into the City State Security Bureau, and no one could stop him.

“Are you sure?”

Other staff went over and explained what happened to the leaders.

The staff replied. “We don’t know. Director w.a.n.g does not know him.”

“He does not know him? Why would that hooligan barge into the Bureau to beat him up if he does not know him? What is Old w.a.n.g doing?” Jiang Dong was furious. He knows it takes two hands to clap. w.a.n.g Shen must have done something to this crazy guy.

Zhen Anguo knew he could not hide it anymore and walked over. They do not know Dong Xuebing, but he knows. Dong Xuebing worked in the Western Branch Bureau, and they could find out quickly. He must inform Jiang Song first.

Zhen Anguo said. “Chief Jiang.”

“Old Zhen?” Jiang Song looked at him. “What is it?”

Zhen Anguo said. “I know this person. He is Dong Xuebing. He worked at our City Western Branch for a while and was transferred away two years ago.”

A staff beside was surprised. “Then why didn’t you stop him?”

Zhen Anguo paused for a second and said. “We are not on good terms.”

A Deputy Chief looked at Zhen Anguo and asked. “Is he from the State Security operation department?”

“No. He is a graduate and took the civil service exam. He was an administrative staff and was transferred to the gra.s.sroots. He should still be working there. I don’t know much about him.” Zhen Anguo knew Dong Xuebing might have strong backing and did not say much. He does not want to offend others.

Jiang Song asked. “Administrative staff?”

Zhen Anguo nodded. “Yes.”

Jiang Song said. “How can he be so good at combat if he is an administrative staff?”

Zhen Anguo could not answer because he did not know why Dong Xuebing was so good at fighting. It does not make sense for an untrained, ordinary graduate to fight like this. “I don’t know much about him. He was transferred away shortly after I came to the Western Branch.”

A Deputy Chief said. “Let’s arrest and question him first, Chief Jiang.”

They cannot let Dong Xuebing off after he barged into the Bureau and injured their staff.

Jiang Song frowned. He thought about it and instructed his men. “Check our intranet. I want his personal files.”

Jiang Song’s subordinate replied. “Yes, Sir.”

That subordinate entered the office building to retrieve Dong Xuebing’s file.

Others stop talking. They knew Chief Jiang was cautious. After all, this person could knock out almost twenty people with his injuries and was not afraid to barge into the State Security Bureau. He might have backings, and they should check his details first.

Everyone waited outside of the office building.

Tan Limei was anxious. She knew Dong Xuebing might be in deep trouble. She walked away quietly to call Xu Yan. She knew Chief Xu might still be stuck in traffic and would take a while to reach. She called her to tell her what happened. It was too late for Chief Xu to do anything. She could stop Xuebing before he barged into the City Bureau and hit w.a.n.g Shen.

Jiang Song is the Beijing City State Security Bureau’s Chief.

Chief Xu is the head of a gra.s.sroots City Bureau. Their ranks were wide apart, and Jiang Song would not give in to Chief Xu. What are we going to do?

Dong Xuebing was not nervous or worried. He continued to smoke.

Chief Jiang’s phone rang two minutes later.

“h.e.l.lo, how is it?” Jiang Song asked.

The subordinate who went to retrieve Dong Xuebing’s file said. “I can only find his normal file. He is an Executive Deputy Mayor of a county. But his internal file is…”

“What is it?”

“No such person found.”

The public security and district office could retrieve any civil servant files. However, internal files are only accessible by the State Security and the Military. It records detailed information, like his family members’ details and which hospital he was born, etc., of a person. Every citizen has this record. But they had never heard of anyone without this file.

This guy’s regular file is available. But why is his internal file unavailable?

Jiang Song paused for a second and asked. “Are you sure?”

“I tried three times, and the system showed there are no records of this person.”
