Death's Scythe Chapter 28: [ Magic : Acquired ]

Leo was on the window sill , reading the 'tome' . He slowly turned the pages as he read through them .

' Unexpectedly , learning magic is easy .' He thought as he kept reading .

He did not realize , to learn a certain magic , people had to come into contact with the element frequently . It was possible to do so without doing so as well , but then they needed a solid foundation .

Leo , had come in contact with lightning , or electricity for almost the whole of his life on Earth , and had recently built a foundation through learning of the theories behind lightning.

The 'tome' recorded how to convert [ Mana ] into [ Magic ] and [ Magic ] into [ Elemental magic ] . Magic , is created from pure Mana , by bringing simple changes to it . Gifts use [ Magic ]. Magic can only be used inside the body . When it comes into contact with the atmosphere , it changes back into Mana .

This is what happens , unless magic changes once more before coming out of the body . It can turn into either aura or have a change in it's element . It can go from it's original [ Null ] element , to any other element , for example [ Lightning ] . Gifts make it easier to do this change , as they change the body of their host .

When Leo completed the last chapter he looked around for any changes , but nothing happened . He once again looked at the Tome and the last words it said was :

'Completely release your Mana and change it for the first time .'

in extremely small characters .

Leo sighed and willed his Mana to come out . This was the first time he had allowed his Mana to come out of his own volition . He could see the Mana colored in a deep black . ' What is this ?' He thought as he looked at the Mana he released .

[ This is user Leo's Mana in it's purest form . It causes anyone except the user a stifling sensation on coming near it ]

Leo was surprised by this description . ' So that's what happens when I get angry .' He had finally discovered the reason for Leah's breathlessness .

He shook his head then looked at the Tome in his hand . He held it in his left hand and focused all the Mana onto his right hand . He closed his eyes and slowly found himself looking at the lump of Mana , even with his closed eyes . He focused on it and tried to change it with the method in the Tome .

The Mana in his hands slowly turned cyan , to blue , to dark blue , then purple .

Zztzzztztzt .

He heard the crackling of lightning , but didn't open his eyes . He continued focusing on the Mana and when he opened his eyes , there was lightning arcs all over his hand . They were purple in color and as they leapt all over his body , they gave him the feeling of being in the higher position , as if they were slaves , begging him to order them .

The arcs of lightning reached to his left hand , and as if by a magnetic force , directly jumped into it .

The Tome slowly , in front of his eyes , turned into pure lightning , then sank into his hand .

[ Nature's attribute : Lightning comprehended ]

[ Lightning magic is now usable ]

[ Completed condition to evolve Gift:Dragon ]

[ Gift: Dragon has evolved to Tier - 7

+ Dragon's breath now has 2 Elements

+ Restore 4% mana/minute

+ Magic resistance improved

+ Dragon fear improved

+ Dragon's breath improved ]

His head hurt as he held onto it . The information flowed into his head and the Tome dissolved in his memories like water . He suddenly felt a warmth on his head and removed his hands to look at them .

They were burning , in pure black . But this time , it was different . There were arcs of black lightning going up and down his hands . He smiled as he looked at the beautiful scene and silently extinguished the flames . ' Just 30% weaker than from my mouth . 70% effectiveness is nice too . Best part is , I am more or less resistant to all magic even if it is not mine . '

[ Magic resistance : 20% ]

Leo laughed as he opened the window and went back inside . " I'm done . If you want to make it easier , change the element of your Mana and make it reach out for the Tome . It helps with learning after you have read through it once ."

Leah looked at him and nodded before getting back to the ' Tome Of Water ' she was reading .' I guess after this there's Tome of Ice ?'

" Elly ?" He said and waited for her to look at him . When she looked towards him he said " Water is always water , no matter what state . All you need is to reduce the temperature . Try it once ."

He went to a bed and laid down . After a few minutes Leah looked at him again , but this time she was surprised to see he was already asleep .

" Master !" He heard a sweet yell in his hand and instinctively caught the cat that jumped towards him . The kitten was still small in size , about the same size as his hand " I want you to introduce me to the outside world as soon as possible ."

Leo looked at 'her' in surprise which increased when she said " I am a girl ."

Leo was once more dumbstruck as she added " I am connected with my master . I can read whatever my master thinks ."

He nodded as he said " How do I introduce you ? You have no name . Not that I know of at least ."

He cradled the cat in his arms like a baby and cuddled her softly . She kept purring as Leo sat down in the same darkness he was brought to last time .

" Even I have issues with only being able to see your eyes . " He said as he used one hand to stretch what seemed to be one of her ears and slowly rubbed her chest after .

" I am born of my master's darkness . I have no name . My master needs to give me a name . " She said as the sweet sound of purring kept echoing in the room .

Leo thought for a while before he said " How about tywyll ?"

He immediately felt a scratch across his hand .

" Why not ? It is dark in a different language ." He said .

" It doesn't seem close enough to master ." She paused for a while before she said " How about Luna ?"
