There were three branches of warriors, including wild warriors, s.h.i.+eld warriors, and Swordmen. Among them, wild warriors were the main stream that accounted for most of the players. Most people chose this profession.
However, due to the demands of the profession, the number of s.h.i.+eld warriors was quite big. Because of the low attacking ability, the difficulty of leveling up and the great demand for pieces of equipment, s.h.i.+eld warriors usually had to live in an organization. Some of them were members of major unions cultivated by the major forces.
Scattered warriors were not pure s.h.i.+eld warriors. Instead of adding all their points to their Const.i.tution, they loved to add some points to their Strength to attack monsters. Besides, they wouldn't only wear defensive equipment. They wore everything they could. Therefore, they weren't that much different from wild warriors. Actually, they just changed the wild warriors' two-handed sword into a one-handed sword and a one-handed s.h.i.+eld.
Swordmen, on the other hand, were the exact opposite of wild warriors. This profession was the least common one among all the professions.
The Swordman was a special profession because it only existed in the Huaxia District. Only the players in the Huaxia District could choose this profession. Just like the professional ninjas in the Dongying District, this profession was only found in this district.
However, this kind of special profession didn't make the Swordman very popular. There were only a few people who chose this profession.
The reason was that it was complicated to add points and hard to cultivate as a Swordman.
The Swordmen needed to mainly add their points to Agility and then add some of the points to Strength, like the a.s.sa.s.sin and archer. Therefore, players would find it hard to choose to become a Swordman.
Swordmen didn't have a high attacking power. They could only attack really fast, but not powerfully. As Melee players, they didn't have the sneaking skill of the a.s.sa.s.sins or the distant power output of the archers. Working as a Swordman required high blocking skills. Certainly, newbies couldn't handle this profession. They wouldn't get a chance to channel their power, for the BOSS would just kill them with one shot.
Even though they added points in the same way, the survival ability of a Swordman was worse than an a.s.sa.s.sin's. Besides, their attacking power was weaker than the archers'. Players who loved high agility would choose the a.s.sa.s.sin or the archer.
Actually, Swordmen had a special blocking skill. In addition to s.h.i.+eld warriors, only Swordmen knew how to block. The level-15 blocking skill could block any damages, including long-range attacks from arrows, magic, and so on.
Although this was a very powerful skill, it made countless players who wanted to choose the Swordman change their mind. After all, this skill was too difficult to use.
Although the blocking skill was the same as the s.h.i.+eld warriors' skill, there was a huge difference between them. s.h.i.+eld warriors had a s.h.i.+eld that they could use to block any attacks. However, the Swordmen only had a one-handed sword. It was quite difficult to precisely block enormous arrows. Many players were frightened at the very thought. Under the circ.u.mstances, it would be better to choose to become a wild warrior. It was really fun to slash at monsters recklessly.
To sum up, although a Swordman wasn't a weak profession, few players would choose it.
However, the teenage player could handle it well. Before he got to level 15, he was already able to block. By the time they entered the instance zone of the Abandoned Town, he had blocked the attacks of the Hatred Demon.
At the moment, the teenage player was obviously more ferocious. A Swordman's normal equipment was an agile one-handed sword, yet he had two swords in his hands as he channeled his blocking skill to stop the attack of the a.s.sa.s.sin Guardian's furious attacks.
The furious attacks of the Guardian made the teenage player grit his teeth as he was forced back. The archer Guardian didn't move at all. Obviously, he didn't enter the archers' hatred range. He only attracted the a.s.sa.s.sin and the Guardian.
“Good job! Hang in there! Drag it away!”
Xiaofeng was really excited. Then, he walked away from the teenage player and ran in a different direction. He channeled his Holy Light toward the archer Guardian, turned around and ran in the opposite direction from the teenage player.
He didn't know how long the teenage player would last, so he had to pull the archer away from the a.s.sa.s.sin.
Because the archer Guardian and the a.s.sa.s.sin Guardian's hatred range were combined, they would separate only if they were pulled away from each other at the same time. If they only distracted one of them, just like the teenage player had done, the archer would immediately catch up if he noticed that the a.s.sa.s.sin had been pulled away from his hatred range.
If they wanted to kill the Guardians one by one, they had to separate them at the same time. Otherwise, Xiaofeng would have killed the archer immediately before the teenage player had reached the a.s.sa.s.sin.
“-22,950!”
The strong archer Guardian was wearing a ragged old armor while huge damage was floating above his head. His Health Points had dropped by half. Thus, he immediately aimed at Xiaofeng and chased him.
At the same time, the sound of enormous attacks was heard. Xiaofeng knew that he had provoked the Guardian. It was really difficult to deal with a BOSS monster that could use remote attacks.
Xiaofeng didn't look back. Suddenly, he bent over and dodged a huge arrow. The arrow missed and fell on the ground. Before Xiaofeng could feel relieved that he had dodged an attack from the archer Guardian, the arrow suddenly exploded when it hit the ground. The shock wave's march continued spreading slowly. Xiaofeng was blown away before he could realize this.
“-3,083!”
He had over 3,000 horrific injuries, so there was no doubt that Xiaofeng had been killed instantly. He turned into a corpse right away.
“Hey! You have no Health Points now. You're dead.”
“Hey! Sacred Body activated. You've been revived. You will not suffer a death punishment. You can only use this skill once a day. It will be reset in 24 hours.”
The Sacred Body skill had been triggered. Xiaofeng had been revived by the time he fell on the ground. Then, he shouted out in shock.
“What the h.e.l.l! You're not an archer! You're actually an anti-aircraft gunman!”
Unfortunately, the archer Guardian didn't have any interest in talking nonsense with Xiaofeng. He had already caught up with him. Meanwhile, he pulled his bone bow and targeted Xiaofeng again.
“Sh*t!”
Xiaofeng immediately lost his temper. He looked around and realized that there was no place to hide. The archer Guardian used explosion arrows to cause great-range explosions. He simply couldn't escape the explosion.
“Screw it! I'm going to kill you!”
Xiaofeng was ferocious. While looking at the bone arrow the archer Guardian had just shot, he didn't hide. As the arrow was getting closer, he immediately leaped and lowered his head, heading toward the bone arrow as if he was going to crush it with his head.
“Immunity!”
The bone arrow was crushed, so there was no explosion. Xiaofeng didn't suffer any damage. Although he was blown away because of the force of the arrow, thanks to the immune skill, he didn't get hurt.
Xiaofeng knew that the attack of the archer Guardian would be insane. There was no way he could hide from it. Therefore, he had made a bet. He had thought that the immune skill of the Dragon's Skull might be able to protect him. It had worked! This was the power of an artifact. Even though he had received it on the first floor, it could still fight the BOSS on the second floor.
Actually, it hadn't looked good when Xiaofeng had leaped. He had looked a little stupid when he'd used his head to crush the arrow.
“Screw it. I'm going to be a man with an iron head today!”
Anyway, no one had seen this, so he didn't have to worry about embarra.s.sing himself. Xiaofeng didn't care. Killing the BOSS and getting another artifact was the most important thing right now. Thus, he continued catching arrows and started to get the hang of it.
The teenage player had pulled the a.s.sa.s.sin Guardian away, making it leave the hatred range. Therefore, Xiaofeng didn't need to worry that the a.s.sa.s.sin Guardian might come back at any moment. Xiaofeng didn't have time to see the team information, so he didn't know whether the teenage player had died or not.
The archer Guardian sped up its attack frequency, so Xiaofeng found it difficult to resist. The Guardian knew every skill of an archer, including scattershot and arrow rain. Xiaofeng had to escape again.
Fortunately, not every skill it used was the explosion arrow. Xiaofeng only crashed with his head when it was too dangerous. The rest of the time, he made every effort to run.
Although the archer Guardian attacked fiercely, Xiaofeng got more damage than he did. He used the Holy Light every 27 seconds. Each time, he could make it lose more than 10% of blood volume. Within 5 minutes, the archer Guardian's Health Points were zero.
“Hey! You've killed a level-30 (left) Guardian on the second floor of the dungeon, which is a Faerie Boss. 4,500,000 EXP gained!”
A system notification rang before Xiaofeng's experience rose by half.
At the same time, the body of the archer Guardian disappeared into a gray mist, leaving only a purple glow in its place!
Xiaofeng took a deep breath and stared at the purple glow on the ground, feeling his heart racing.
The artifact!
It was dropped out again!
Xiaofeng tried to calm himself down as he picked up the equipment, which seemed to be protecting the arm. As expected, it was one of the suits of the Devil Dragon.
