Chapter 1568: A Hero Doesn’t Fight With A Guard
w.a.n.g Yu’s flight speed was not slow and while Blossoming Moon was speaking to the various leaders, he was already at the entrance of the G.o.d’s Tower.
There were two guards stationed at the entrance of the G.o.d’s Tower.
The national boundary in reality was completely different from the national boundary in the game.
In the background story of the game, every city was a country on its own while every district was a federation. The only differentiation of enemies would be the factions.
Therefore, there was no difference between national boundaries in the consciousness of NPCs. As long as the players were not of opposing factions, there wouldn’t be any conflict. w.a.n.g Yu belonged to the Neutral faction while the NPCs in Starry Sky City belonged to the Light faction. While the two were not in the same factions, they were not hostile to each other. Therefore, the guards in Starry Sky City wouldn’t do anything to target w.a.n.g Yu unnecessarily.
However, w.a.n.g Yu couldn’t help but feel a little guilty when he saw these two guards.
One must know that w.a.n.g Yu had just killed quite a few players earlier on. Wouldn’t he be seeking death if he continued to hover around in front of the guards?
w.a.n.g Yu had come across the guards before and he knew just how terrifying guards were. Dragon Emperor Dales was nothing as compared to guards who should rightfully be known as the strongest experts in the game.
However, these two guards did not charge towards w.a.n.g Yu to attack him even after they saw w.a.n.g Yu approaching them. Instead, they simply placed their spears across w.a.n.g Yu’s chest and said in a stern manner, “No idle person can wander outside the G.o.d’s Tower.”
“F*ck…”
w.a.n.g Yu was taken aback by this sentence.
How could he be considered an idle person when his quest good was inside the tower?
After thinking for a while, w.a.n.g Yu took out two bags of gold and handed it out, “Brothers, please be flexible…”
“Pah!”
The two guards didn’t even look at the money bags in w.a.n.g Yu’s hands as the two spears let out an ear-piercing sound, “No idle person can wander outside the G.o.d’s Tower!”
“…”
w.a.n.g Yu was speechless.
This was the difference between low AI NPC and high AI NPC. Even though intelligent NPCs were always shamelessly trying to benefit from the players, it also gave the players the opportunities to exploit the NPCs’ greed.
Guards were inherently different from intelligent NPCs who were strictly impartial and incorruptible. Facing fellas like them was equivalent to facing a rock where there would be no room for negotiation of any form.
w.a.n.g Yu was increasingly depressed.
If he wanted to obtain the G.o.d’s Glory, he had to enter the G.o.d’s Tower but these two guards were not giving in…
Eh? Outside the G.o.d’s Tower?
At the thought of this, w.a.n.g Yu scratched his chin and asked, “I’m not wandering outside G.o.d’s Tower, I want to enter.”
“Dang!”
Hearing what w.a.n.g Yu said, the two guards’ spears gave way as the two of them opened up a path for w.a.n.g Yu.
“Cheeekaa!”
The gate of G.o.d’s Tower opened up.
“F*ck!” “I knew it!”
w.a.n.g Yu wiped his sweat!
The system was just as tricky as ever to think that they could play with the players through their wording. Fortunately, w.a.n.g Yu was no longer the same honest youth that he was before. Otherwise, he would have just turned and left the place without any second thoughts.
After cursing at the game designers discreetly, w.a.n.g Yu walked towards the G.o.d’s Tower.
“Dang!”
Just as w.a.n.g Yu set foot through the gate, the G.o.d’s Tower’s gate was shut tightly. Following which, a dazzling white radiance shone on w.a.n.g Yu’s face.
…
At this point, Golden Time’s players on the street had already caught up with w.a.n.g Yu outside the G.o.d’s Tower. They had received Blossoming Moon’s orders to stall w.a.n.g Yu near the G.o.d’s Tower and to prevent him from leaving.
When the players from the other guilds received w.a.n.g Yu’s ID, the first thing they did was to search for his coordinates. Just as the Golden Time’s players arrived at the G.o.d’s Tower, the players from the other guilds also rushed over there from all directions.
But when everyone arrived near the G.o.d’s Tower and they saw the shutting of the gate, they were all rooted to the ground in shock.
“What? How is this possible? He actually managed to enter?”
Seeing the shutting of the gate, everyone couldn’t help but feel extremely astonished.
“No way! Are you sure?”
Hearing the exclamation of the others, many others started casting their doubts.
Everyone knew that the system was treacherous while the guards were frightening.
Everyone knew what the system was like and unless they had been through as much as w.a.n.g Yu did, common players could forget about seeing through the wordplay of the system without a few years of experience.
Ever since the opening of the server, this G.o.d’s Tower had been in the centre of Starry Sky City. With the guards watching over, ordinary players had no way of getting close.
After such a long time since the opening of the servers, it wasn’t as though there hadn’t been players wandering outside the G.o.d’s Tower. However, all it proved was the fearsome reputation of the guards. None of them managed to reap any rewards.
w.a.n.g Yu was merely a foreigner who wasn’t even a player of the Korean server, let alone a player from Starry Sky City. Even so, he was able to enter safely?! Wasn’t this a little too unusual?!
“Let’s check it out and we’ll know.”
There were plenty of ways to check a player’s coordinates in the game. Some players quickly used [Clairvoyance] to check w.a.n.g Yu’s coordinates.
Indeed, w.a.n.g Yu’s coordinates stated ‘G.o.d’s Tower Level One’.
“F*ck! How!!”
Everyone roared after seeing w.a.n.g Yu’s coordinates. Even the locals couldn’t enter so what gives a Chinese player the rights to enter? Could it be that this game was created by the Chinese?
At that moment, many players grew infuriated and if it wasn’t for their quest on hand, they would have gone offline to complain on the forum.
There were also players who didn’t believe what they saw so they lowered their heads and walked towards the G.o.d’s Tower.
At this point, the two guards stood out and blocked the way, “The gate has closed and no one else is allowed inside.”
“F*ck you! Are you telling me that I cannot enter when that foreigner can?” Some players couldn’t care less as they started cursing and scolding the guards.
The guards were not the most polite people. Before these players walked towards the gate, they swung their spears emotionlessly.
“Whoos.h.!.+”
A wave of white light appeared as over ten players were killed on the spot.
These were also the legendary representatives of the system. They possessed the absolute strength and power of this world and even a G.o.d-grade BOSS wouldn’t be able to survive a blow from these guards, let alone the players.
This was enough to silence everyone else.
“Duang!”
After killing these players, the two guards returned to their position as said with a monotonous tone, “The gate has closed and no one else is allowed inside. Anyone who disobeys shall be killed without further discussion.”
“Boom!”
After witnessing the strength of the guards, the players felt chills down their spine as they took a step back together.
What a joke! Everyone was merely a player and people with brains would know that there was no point arguing with low IQ guards. It wasn’t as though they could defeat the guards…
