Chapter 969: Forget Me and Find Someone Nicer (8)

Their lips touched and it was the most familiar taste.
He Jiayu sensed something bitter as they kissed.
Gently wiping the tears from Su Xiaomo’s cheeks with his fingers, he whispered, “Momo, don’t cry.”
But how could she not cry?
To most people, the past few days weren’t any different, apart from the occasional news on the epidemic. But she was constantly on edge and could never relax.
“He Jiayu… can you not be a doctor anymore…” Su Xiaomo cried. “D- do this to me again and I’m going to die from a heart attack!”
She couldn’t stop crying and He Jiayu cajoled her patiently.
Su Xiaomo only calmed down after a long while. She nudged at He Jiayu awkwardly and said, “You can’t laugh at me!”
She had to look awful with all the tears and her runny nose.
He Jiayu chuckled, took some tissue paper, and dried her tears attentively. He even wiped her nose for her.
“I’m sorry I made you worry about me.”
He had been equally tormented during this time.
Fortunately, he was able to come back safely despite everything.
They chatted for most of the night, as if trying to make up for what they had missed while they were apart.
It was noon when Su Xiaomo woke up the next day.
After was.h.i.+ng up, she walked out of the bedroom to find He Jiayu feeding Cuddlie.
Their daughter was flailing her limbs and looked elated.
“Papa… papa…” Smacking her lips, she talked to He Jiayu.
He Jiayu would reply with a “yes” to every “papa.”
Cuddlie seemed to be having great fun with this and called him dozens of times.
He Jiayu replied every single time.
It was a little silly, but still brought tears to Su Xiaomo’s eyes.
She snapped a shot of them with her phone.
“You’re awake.” He Jiayu turned around at the sound of the camera.
Warm light shone in behind them, and looking at his lean, handsome face, Su Xiaomo felt as if a lifetime had pa.s.sed.
When she finally came back to herself, she realized that she had been feeling infatuated over He Jiayu!
d.a.m.n… They had a daughter already. How could that happen?
“Ahem. Did you bring anything back which I need to put away?” Su Xiaomo changed the subject.
He Jiayu had tossed all the belongings he used in the hospital, and the only thing he had brought back was… that letter.
“Just a letter. I’ll put it away later.”
“A letter?” Su Xiaomo looked surprised. “You wrote a letter? To whom?”
“Well… It’s nothing important…”
“Then why did you bring it back?”
He Jiayu wasn’t good at telling lies. He blushed. “I…”
“Don’t tell me it wasn’t for me!” Su Xiaomo gestured at herself, then said indignantly, “He Jiayu! Are you in love with another woman?”
He Jiayu said awkwardly, “Of course not. You’re my only love.”
“Then show me!”

With no other choice, He Jiayu sighed, put Cuddlie into her stroller, and gave her some toys to play with. He then fumbled out the letter from the pocket of the coat he had worn yesterday.
He Jiayu pursed his lips. “Please don’t laugh at me. I was very serious when I wrote it.”
Su Xiaomo’s eyelids twitched when she opened the letter.
It was his will.
And it only contained three lines.
If I come back alive, I’ll give you all my love for as long as I live.
If I die here, please forget me and find someone nicer.
