It had been an hour since I had entered the hole, and everything had been great. I had just cooked myself a great dinner and now eating it.

It would have been great if Nero had eaten with me, but he wanted to stay out.

Not that I blame him. He was inside the core for months and now that he got a chance; he wanted to stay out as much as he could.

A few minutes pa.s.sed and I middle of eating when I saw Nero becoming alert.

'Father, the night had started changing,' he said. 

I stopped eating immediately and focused on sensing what Nero is sensing. For a few seconds, I sense nothing, before I started to sense it faintly, and as more time pa.s.sed, I sense it more clearly.

I thought, I will have a normal night, but it did not seem like that would be the case.

A different kind of energy is permeating in the air; one that is more dangerous. One that was not present in the day. This one felt cold, so much so that I felt like a Primary-III would get frozen in a couple of seconds.

That would be putting it lightly. 

One would definitely get frozen, but it would be a very painful experience.

Several minutes pa.s.sed and finally, the energy stopped growing denser, but it had already grown so dense. 

That even a second inside would be deadly to Primary III.

Even weaker, Sovereign would have a hard time surviving more than a few minutes inside it. So, it is hard to believe Nero, who is Peak Primary-II like me, is fine.

The energy is not affecting him, it could be said, that it is nouris.h.i.+ng him.

The energy has something he needs, and it is taking it inside him every second. I wanted a sample, but I did not move from my spot. It is dangerous, thankfully; I have Nero, who promised to collect samples for me.

This dangerous energy is not bad, especially for me.

Earlier, I had been struggling with whether I should do treatments. Seeing, if I am not careful, a pa.s.sing Sovereign might discover me, now that fear had nearly disappeared.

Here on this night, even powerful Sovereigns wouldn't want to go out. There are also a few monsters, but all of them are powerful.

Despite that, it would be hard for them to discover me. This place is very hidden because of those crystals. Even those powerful ones wouldn't be able to discover me.

From the signs I have seen, it used to be a hiding place for the monster, but that monster disappeared years ago. Likely killed, which is great, without it being dead, I wouldn't have found such a great place to spend the night.

A second later, everything disappears, and even walls have become thinner, before finally, there is only an open s.p.a.ce.

The hole is small, I couldn't even have a small studio apartment. If I want to practice, I need to remove everything and even thin the walls.

Thankfully, this hole was very well protected. Not even the speck of that dangerous energy had come inside.

With the s.p.a.ce ready, I waved my hand, and a formation appeared, with the resources on it. I stopped my breath and sat in the center of it before activating the formation.

This treatment does not require me to hold my breath, but the next one does and needs to prepare.

With the breath stopped, I closed my eyes and appeared at my core. There, I went to the library and started studying the ancient ruins.

My clones are done with Primary-III inheritance, but they are not free. Four of them are studying different things, from books to data I had gathered about the Sovereigns.

My next big target is going to be the Sovereign stage and seeing difficult as it is going to be, I need to start as soon as possible.

I already had an idea and could start working on it, but I decided to study further. Enriched my knowledge first, before started working on the inheritance.

I am sure, once I made a breakthrough in Primary III, I will have enough time to work on my inheritance.

A few minutes pa.s.sed when I saw Nero moving; he is moving the route; I am planning on taking tomorrow. Seeing him scouting in advance, a smile couldn't help but appear on my face.

'Don't just run around, get some sleep too," I advised. I don't know how much of it he will listen, but I still said it.

With that done, I once again focused on my core and only opened my eyes when changing the treatment to the seven aurora waves.

The pain of a million ants bites across my body and I bore it. This time, there was even a smile as I grit my mouth; I only need to bear this method for three days more, and then I will be finished.

I will have to practice it again after I made a breakthrough into Primary-III. I don't know when it will happen.

Time pa.s.sed, and I was half an hour into it when Nero sensed something. I could not look into my core, but there is active footage of Nero's vision playing in my core, which my clone is watching while it worked.

It turned out he sensed Grimms. Two Primary-II grimed, hiding in a safe location.

Seeing the Grimms do not have a bloodline, I had asked Nero to kill them. Killing the enemy when they were hiding in a safe place does not look good, but they were no normal enemies.

They are mortal enemies of the entire universe. A scourge: they deserve the death coming for them.

With my instructions, Nero did not waste any time within a few minutes. The Grimms were dead, and Nero had their artifact and storage.

After killing the Grimms, he moved ahead and found another group of Grimm, twenty-five minutes later. This one is big, around eight Grimms, but he did not touch them.

There are two Sovereign among them.

Soon, I finished with the seven aurora waves and immediately moved to a different treatment. This one is strengthening treatment; while there are Grimm in ruin; I can't only depend on them.

Strengthening treatments is slow, but they work, and in this place, I would take every bit of increase I could.

As I was going through strengthening treatment, Nero found another Grimm. This one was alone, without bloodline, and thus he killed him and the two he found after that.

I had finished the strengthening treatment when Nero found another group of Primary-III. In this group of four, one had a bloodline.

So, Nero killed three.

The killing was akin to a horror movie for a surviving Grimm; a monster attacked them. The monster was powerful, and no attack seemed to affect it, but the strangest thing is, it is not Sovereign.

This question was asked by every Grimm as they died. Till only one remained scared and s.h.i.+vering, waiting for the monster to kill it, but it never happened.
