The Bewitched Soul 12 Warlocks

The white witches exercised supernatural powers for selfless purposes. They came under the white magic pract.i.tioners, including the healers. The healers had the aptness to cure the injured just by their subtle touch but it was not the case likewise. The more they healed the more they became p.r.o.ne to death. Their superpowers could adversely affect their life span. Whereas the white witches used their superpowers to cast spells and with the help of special spells they could turn water into blood which was exported to the land of Brookville, they could turn vegetables into raw meat meant for the werewolves and the dragons... later exported to the Land of Wintermere and Land of Shadowlake respectively.

The white witches were ranked according to their special powers and abilities. The workers were the lowest on rank... exercised their powers to maintain the ecosystem. Secondly, the traders... who were responsible to convert the natural substances into required items and trade them to other provinces. They were further divided into two groups. One... who converted the water into blood and vegetables into raw meat. Two... who used to trade items to other provinces.

Lastly, the warlocks... most powerful among all. They were rare. One had to pa.s.s several levels to reach the top. Some even had special superpowers which they exercised to hone skills. They formed the witch army and always cast a protective spell around the Land of Ostbarrow to avoid casualties. The special powers of warlocks could transform them into any living form. They could reincarnate one's soul. They had several other superpowers.

The Land of Ostbarrow had quite a few Black witches. They sacrificed the lives of the innocent for immortality. They held ma.s.sacres in various places and even in other provinces. Humans being the most naive creatures among the rest, were easy preys for them. They could camouflage themselves according to their surroundings and hunt down their preys. They performed brutal rituals which included the slow slicing off one's neck, scooping out eyes and crus.h.i.+ng one's heart. Lastly pouring the blood into the fire. Such incidents caused widespread protests all across the continent.

Emilia Whitmore was a warlock. Being one of the finest warlocks, Lord Gerard had given her a special status in the palace. She had her place next to the minister who sat right to the King and the Queen's being on the left to the King.

She handled the black witches and was famously known for giving them the brutal death one could ever experience. Following her instructions carefully, the prison guards used to slice the black witch's one hand by first chopping off their fingers... then slicing their arms into pieces. Loud screams used to echo the entire dungeon. Allowing one part to rot for a few days... the guards used to do the same for the other arm. Similarly, by chopping off the legs one by one... they were thrown to rot in pain. Lastly, the guards used a special knife to chop off the black witch's tongue into several small pieces. At their final time... they were burnt alive. Being alive and having no support to protest... only live screams could be heard from them while the fire burnt and turned them into ashes.

Such punishments... won the public's faith and trust in them. They trusted their King and the army.

This also built fear in the rest hidden black witches. They migrated to other provinces without being seen. They started residing in every province and disguised themselves as humans by hiding their powers. For which the witch army had to cast a protective spell all around Ostbarrow to avoid such escapes.
