"He is definitely crazy! As if!"

The thought flashed across the mind of the LiangKo funeral home director, while stifling the urge to snort in doubt, from the corner of his eyes he saw Yang Lin scramble towards the back of the limousine to where the casket laid on a royal blue rugged floorboard. On both end was a long row of plush cus.h.i.+oned seats of royal blue.

On reaching where the coffin was, Yang Lin stooped to pull the lid of the casket up. His mind going back on what the doctor told him at the hospital, regarding the potential outcome of the "c.o.c.ktail."

"Miss Zhang has only fourteen hours before the effect of the medication wears off, from the time of administration. I do not advise that you give her another shot so close together, or else her body will completely shut down most likely result in death, or she could remain in a vegetative state indefinitely. Think carefully about using the shots I pa.s.sed to you, they are only good for a week after that the efficacy would be affected."

"So you are telling me that Young Miss Zhang could die or be as good as dead from receiving a second dose?!"

"That is a possibility Mr Yang, I'm not a hundred percent certain that could happen."

"Hold it! Then why didn't you say this at the beginning?!"

"Now you are blaming me! Weren't you the one that forced me to do what I did! Had it not been the case, what choice did I have?!"

"Is there anything that could help reverse the effect of the medication?"

"Look here Mr Yang! It is now your problem! Just leave me out of it! I have risked my livelihood to do what you asked! Either take it or leave it!"

Looking at the still form of the heiress, a feeling of overwhelming helplessness descended on Yang Lin, as he had already given the second shot during the early hours of the morning to keep the effect of the medication going. The drive to QingYi district was supposed to be an hour and they've only been on the road for less than twenty minutes.

"If there is a G.o.d listening! Please let MiMi wake up! I don't want her to die!"

Tears ran down the cheeks of Yang Lin as he whispered the heartfelt prayer to whatever deity that may be listening, while holding tightly to the edge of the coffin. The young man felt lost, he knew the risk that he was putting on the body of Zhang Mi, the possibility of her not waking up anymore seemed to weigh heavily on his mind.

He hadn't slept a wink, having to keep vigil over the open casket at the Zhang villa. Feeling mentally exhausted from being awake for hours, it was now beginning to take a toll on his mind.

At the back of their car was Zhang Tianyu's closely following them, while others had gone ahead of the funeral train to wait at the Zhang burial site for the limousine conveying the heiress to arrive. The press for once weren't stupid, although they heard what the President of Zhang Corporation and his aide said regarding respecting the privacy of the "deceased" family of the heiress, many of them skipped the viewing at Zhang villa to wait for the funeral train to arrive at QingYi district.

From the front seat, Director Ko could hear the sniffling noise coming from the back.

"Oh for crying out loud! Why is he crying?! I mean, if she is really alive, he shouldn't be shedding tears, instead he should be dancing for joy or something!"

Good thing Yang Lin didn't see the eye rolling motion of the other man, who thought he was being overly dramatic.
