Sek Si observed SigmaOctanis' battle with Prop Uganda from the shadows on top of a building in the center of town. Colossal bangs echoed through the city as the two opponents clashed with a combination of magic and melee. Sek Si dropped her gaze down to the streets below where an elite group of women in valkyrie armor marched toward the governmental buildings. Fiends littered the streets attacking the denizens of the Middle District in the foulest and most obscene ways imaginable.
Merely, during the last few months of training, Sek had encountered such situations frequently. After almost losing her life the last time, Sek learned not to act unless she felt certain that she could make a difference. Plus those Valkyries were running through the city taking down all the high-level fiends. Sek Si was considering whether or not she should help them when she received a soul transmission. Sek was startled because it took a very powerful soul to send a transmission, especially so when she didn't lower her shadow guard or other defenses at all.
"I recognize your aura. Are you related to Joseph?" Sigma Octanis' manly voice echoed throughout Sek Si's mind.
"Joe…" Sek was completely startled by this question. "You know my young master? Where is he now?"
*BOOOOM*
The impact of his mighty blow tore the clouds asunder and General Uganda crashed back into the government building complex like a meteor, devastating the surrounding buildings for miles. Sek Si stared with wide eyes, not expecting to see such a display of strength from a mere low ranking mage. In Sek's opinion, this Sigma Octanis seemed to definitely have his secrets.
"Your young master is this heavenly dog's favored apprentice," Sigma's soul transmission ring in Sek's mind, "If he arrives here, it will be in the Outer District. You can look for him now."
"What about you, sir?" after learning that this man was her young master's teacher, her way of speaking to him had completely changed. Sigma approved of her att.i.tude inwardly but didn't respond immediately.

"I will be fine. I'll come to find the boy after I clean up the threat hidden in the clouds," replied Sigma leisurely after a few breaths pause. "I doubt you can curb the wildness of that boy, but do put in the effort.
"OCTANIS!!"
"Hurry and leave this district now," Sigma urged Sek Si, resulting in the latter vanis.h.i.+ng into the shadows. Sek kept traveling at high speed to the outer district.
After talking to Sek Si, Sigma Octanis engaged in fierce combat with Supreme Elder Kyle Mercy of the Death Emissary Guild. Meanwhile, Erykah Maat prevented Garuda from joining the fray. Although Erykah Maat didn't wish to implicate his Vermillion Bird Temple by murdering a leader of the va.s.sal force under White Demon Castle, he didn't have any scruples about preventing Garuda from joining the war.
"You slimy magic priest, GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Garuda's scream echoed from the sky all throughout the Middle District. Hundreds of meters above the city, Garuda stood in deadly opposition from Temple Shepherd Erykah Maat with his arms outstretched. He had attacked the Temple Shepherd several times, but the former deflected every attack without so much as opening his eyes once. Dozens of curse marks coalesced into several 10-meter-tall Evil Roc glyphs that launched themselves toward Erykah Maat.
"Amitabha," The Temple Shepherd's closed eyes finally opened halfway, and the prayer beads surrounding his wrists separated and flew out forming a barrier of light. These beads were in actuality Erykah Maat's grade combat gear and provided a 40% boost in combat strength.
Garuda's curses slammed into the barrier one after the other, but after the barrage, only a tiny and inconsequential crack appeared on the light barrier. "I have no interest in harming you, Benefactor Garuda. That you survived our last encounter could be considered fate. You are much stronger than the last time we fought, and this is before even using your Oblivion Wing Secret Art. This old monk is astounded. I hope you have not been experimenting with dark powers. They will bar your path to the western heavens."
"f.u.c.k you and your nonsensical dribble," Garuda huffed with great aggression. He had used about 30% of his total energy trying to get past this pretentious b.a.s.t.a.r.d. However, after calming down, Garuda stood straight like a pole with his arms crossed, "Hmph, fool. The Supreme Elder of Death Emissary Guild was meant to distract you instead of what you are doing currently. Now, you've signed Octanis up for sure death. It's true that I have been granted a great boon of force. Since you asked for it, I'll do it!"
Black lights started spiraling into the air as Garuda finished his speech, eight wing shadows slowly uncurled behind him. Oblivion Wing's first form came with a great backlash, but it also permanently augmented the user's powers should they survive it. The four forms that came after the first all required a verse to activate. Garuda looked the Temple Shepherd in his eyes and sneered in derision, "Angel's darken as the devil sings. May my flight bring carnage, OBLIVION WING!"
The spiritual pressure in the surrounds suddenly skyrocketed as a pillar of black light erupted from Garuda's body. Watching this, Erykah Maat frowned deeply. He regretted letting Garuda have time to transform. It seems the Temple Shepherd would have to get serious now. From within the pillar of light emerged a three-meters-tall birdman with eight wings covered in black-golden feathers around his dark and firm muscles. The spiritual pressure of this man had already reached terrifying heights. Garuda's muscular chest stood out, adored with several magical tools in the form of jewelry.
However, the Temple Shepherd wasn't wearing the gloomy look that Garuda expected. Instead, he seemed calm. Maybe even excited?
"You came prepared today. Fair enough, I will show you the true Demon Devouring Flame Art," as Erykah Maat finished speaking, his essence exploded outward forming a black atmosphere where thousands of birds made from crimson fire almost seemed to condense endlessly within until reaching 50. "Go!"
Vermillion Flame Birds swarmed toward Garuda like a bevy of missile rockets. As these birds left the atmosphere, more flame birds immediately condensed to replace them, never exceeding 50.
"Essence becoming aura, the gift of a Celestial Essence Body, tsk," Garuda frowned knowing his opponent had also become serious. He didn't take the Temple Shepherd lightly as his hands formed hundreds of curse seals in his atmosphere in mere seconds before he clapped them together into a death seal. Corrosive energy permeated the sky, as a pitch-black battle armor condensed around Garuda's entire body. The hands of the armor were as sharp as refined steel and shaped like talons. This was Garuda's h.e.l.l's Mantle - Evil Roc War Armor.
The curse seals coalesced into seven wing glyphs that carried a terrifying momentum as they rotated and sped toward the firebirds like a spinning disc of destruction. At the same time, Garuda vanished from his spot at insane speeds, appearing behind Erykah Maat and instantaneously striking with his sharp talons.
"Feeling the destructive force of nearly 60 AP, even I feel that my life is in danger," Erykah Maat was stunned by the mighty forces that Garuda currently possessed. Could a secret art really increase prowess to such an extent?
Of course, Erykah Maat didn't know that each time Garuda executed Wings of Oblivion he would sacrifice a minimum of 100 years from his lifespan. In fact, the reason Garuda didn't partic.i.p.ate in the auction was that he already knew there wouldn't be any items that could promote lifespans. This was also the reason Crash Bandit wanted to purchase ingredients that could be used to create longevity pills for Garuda.
Erykah Maat's face became dignified as he immediately decided to burn his vermillion bird lifeblood. His power increased by three fourths just in time for him to meet Garuda's once deadly strike with an even more powerful palm strike.
*PUME*
The clash resulted in both parties being thrown away, but Garuda flew off 300 meters while the Temple Shepherd was only knocked 40 meters away. Unfortunately, Garuda's curse art crashed into Erykah Maat's back right as he steadied himself in the air.
