This Time You Are Mine 36 Enemy Base Conquered!

Everybody was taken back when Yve mentioned SkyMu's name but not me. Back in the car, when she asked if Airis will be attending the meeting, I knew right then that she will choose that company as a training ground. For me that company, was a no-go. Even before it was established I was thoroughly against it because I still believe that the entertainment industry is a very unstable one and the competency is very intense. But if it's Yve, I think she can handle it.

"What do you mean Sky Music Entertainment?!" Airis shouted.

"Exactly as I said. SkyMu as I heard it is called has a very low reputation and its status has not improved ever since it was established. I think if I can improve its status, it will be enough to show my abilities and skills. Don't the board members agree with me?"

Then once again, the directors were in a chaos.

"Airis, sis, please don't take it personally. Like how everyone here wants the best for the company, I also feel the same."

"So if the board will agree…"Amira started.

"MOM!!" Airis shouted and stood up abruptly.

"Just listen to me sweetie. Let us hear what Yvory has in mind." Airis grumpily sat down with her arms crossed.

"What are your plans for SkyMu?"

"Well, first, I want to be the President of the company. Next, I will conduct studies about the projects involving the company. Then I will take it from there."

"So, you wanted to have position first without any concrete plans for the company in question? Don't you think that's a little bit.... Irresponsible?" Amira asked.

No doubt Amira is very cunning. She has guided Stones very well at the surface, though. Once Yve is already inside, that's when we will learn the reality about the company.

"Yes, Ms. Yvory. I agree with Madam Amira this time. Although, SkyMu hasn't shown any significant achievement yet, it doesn't also give any loss to Stones to deserve this treatment?"

"But don't you think that not showing any growth is also sign of loss to SkyMu? I believe the board agreed to this expansion to see some advancement and to retain the same status."

"But how about we leave the position to Ms. Airis, here. Afterall, thanks to her supervision that SkyMu has survived."

"But there should only be one captain in one s.h.i.+p... or else the s.h.i.+p will sink?" Yve said the first part seriously then smiled at everyone else.

"Plus to be able to take good care of SkyMu, I need to have access to all its information. I believe the only one who can have the freedom is the president, right?" Yve added.

"It would be a little unfair for Ms. Airis, here. But we understand. How about we give you 6 months? You will be the company president of SkyMu." Mr. Williams said.

"WHAT?! How about me? You can't just throw me away?!" Airis shouted.

"It's not that we're throwing you out, Ms. Airis. But Ms. Yvory made a very significant point. We didn't agree to the establishment of SkyMu just to have the same profit. We want our money to grow." Mr. Williams explained.

"MOM!" Airis looked at her mother.

Amira is clever enough that Yve this time will win. She pointed out a very sensitive issue and has the upper hand on this. She can't do anything to help her daughter this time.

"Sweetie, sit down please." Amira can only calm her daughter.

"I understand your point, Mr. Williams. But what happens after 6 months?" Amira asked Mr. Williams.

"Depending on the performance of Ms. Yvory."

"But the management of SkyMu?"

"I said, we can talk about this in the future meetings. I think the board also agrees with me, right?" Mr. Williams looks around the room and sees the nods of the people.

"Now, Ms. Yvory, " Mr. Williams stood up with his right hand extended for a handshake so Yve did the same.

"In behalf of the board, I welcome you to the company. Do your best with SkyMu." Then they exchanged handshake.

Mr. Williams faced the board and said, "Meeting adjourned."

With this, the directors walked out of the room while Ed and I approached Yve who sat down on the chair.

"How are you?" I asked Yve.

She looked at me and was about to answer my question when Amira spoke and said,

"Mr. Gray, if you don't mind, I would like to speak to my stepdaughter. I just want to catch up with her."

I look intently at Yve. She looked so tired to have another battle with them. Not to forget she just got out from the hospital. She should be resting now.

"Bu.." I was stopped by Yve's hand holding mine. She mouthed okay. I can't do anything if she is this persistent.

"We will be waiting outside. Call me if you need anything." She nodded and so Ed and I went out of the meeting room.

As the door closed, I instructed Ed to get all the materials needed by Yve from SkyMu as well as my own from the hotel and bring it home. I will drive Yve home myself. Ed understood my instructions very well and left immediately.

I really wish I can hear what is happening inside. Ugh!! Now, I'm regretting that I agreed to having this battle with her family. I keep on pacing back and forth waiting anxiously outside the room. I keep on looking at my watch. Even though, not even 5 minutes had pa.s.sed I can't help but be worried. I know it is a family matter but how they treated Yve had been unjust.

After a few more minutes, Yve came out from the room, looking so tired. As I approach towards her, she hugged me tight hiding her face in my chest.

"Is everything okay? You're not hurt, right?" I asked her.

She answered by nodding her head. "Vince…"

"Hmm?"

She looked at me and said, "Can we go home, first? I feel so tired."

"Sure." Without delaying, I guide her towards the elevator and went out of the Stones Enterprises.
