This Time You Are Mine 39 Work Hard

I almost kiss her in front of Edward. I really wanted to kiss those lips. Through my kiss, I wanted to tell her that she did a good job today. But am I correct to guess that she also wanted to kiss me? She didn't stop me and instead, she just waited. ED!!! It was really one of the rarest times I got mad at him. But I can't totally blame him.

Next time, I will do it without him around. I know I'll have many chances. But first, I have to get back to work. For me to support Yve properly, I need to make sure that Gray Group is doing a great job in the market. So I decided to work on my desk.

After reading the reports and replying on some of the emails, Yve came to my study holding a cup of coffee.

"Black Americano for you with sugar and cream on the side. You can add them as you wish." She said as she put the tray on my desk.

"Thanks." She really knows how I like my coffee. It should always be black as I will be the one to add the creamer and the sugar.

"I finished cleaning up our dinner. But Vince, do you know where did Ed put the papers for the SkyMu?" She asked while looking around the study.

I stood up and walked towards Yve. While holding both of her shoulders I asked, "Are you sure you're okay?"

She looked confused. Instead of answering my question, she asked me another question. "What do you mean?"

"If you would ask me, you did an excellent job today and I want you to take it easy. You should take a rest now since you just came from the hospital."

She removed my hand from her shoulders and held them together. She looked at our hands for awhile before looking me in the eyes and said, "I understand that. But you also know, Vince, that improving a company within six months will not be an easy task. I need to use all the spare time I can get. I also need to prepare a counterattack and back-up plans for whatever evil tricks my stepmother and stepsister have for me."

"I know that. But can't you just rest even just for tonight?"

She smiled at me and said, "I already rested in your car earlier, remember? Don't worry much about me. I'm in your penthouse and you would immediately notice if something is wrong with me, right?" Then she winked and looked around once again.

She turned around and said, "Now, will you tell me where did Ed put the doc.u.ments?"

I really can't win against her if she puts her mind to something. She just declared how much she trusts me and wants me to do the same to her. Fine. As if I really have a choice. I should just watch over her silently.

"Okay! I give up!! I said while holding my hands up in 90 degrees, like the suspect arrested by police.

"They're on that white table. By the way that will be your table."

"Really? This is mine?" She looked so happy and surprised.

"Yes. I know that you would not waste a single time so I had Ed bought you a table. I also told him to have your table placed closer to the shelves."

"But why? Wouldn't it be troublesome for you, especially if you need to read some books?"

"It's fine. The books in the shelves are business reference books."

She just nodded in agreement and took one file from the urgent pile and took her seat. I know that she would try to answer her questions on her own instead of asking for my help so I decided to have her table near the books.

Then all of a sudden, I can hear were the pages being turned and her keyboard as she key in necessary information. She is completely focused in her work so I decided to continue my business as well.

After awhile, I noticed that I didn't hear or notice any movement from her area so I peeked and saw her looking at me. By the look on her face, it seems like she want to ask me something.

"Do you need anything else?" I asked her.

"Hmmm.. somehow yes? But just a permission."

Now it picked up my interest.

"What is it?"

"If it's not too much, can I play some of CD's produced by SkyMu while we're working?"

She's planning on mult.i.tasking. She wanted to know the status of the musicality of the songs while learning about SkyMu's business.

"Don't you normally evaluate music with your headphones?" I asked her.

"Yes but I don't have one at the moment."

"I have one in my room. It is inside dresser in the accessories cabinet, second drawer."

"I'll get it then. Thank you very much, Vince." After giving her thanks, she hurriedly went upstairs.

Taking that as an opportunity, I looked at her notes on her laptop and on her finished doc.u.ments. I was amazed at how she regrouped the urgent matters in her laptop. She also took into consideration the long term activities such as the training of her future artists. But what caught her attention are the expensive costs of SkyMu's alb.u.ms but the average ratings of the songs and even the artists. I think she is planning to remodel the artists. If it's music, she can do a great job.

After awhile, I heard steps going to the study. I hurried and return to my desk. Then as I have expected the door opened and she smiled at me while showing the headphone. I nod in response and she walked directly to her desk and resumed working again. I guess, it's going to be an all-nighter for the two of us.

However, I was wrong. About 2 or 3 hours had pa.s.sed from the time she sat down on her chair, she stood up and walked towards my desk while holding her laptop.

"Vince….."

"Yes?"

"I'm in a deadlock…. I don't know if what I have written here are correct. I have checked different sources but still I'm not sure. Do you have time to check up on this?"

"Sure, I do. But how about if I tell you after you sleep?"

"What? But why? Are all of these incorrect?"

"No, I didn't say that. I haven't even check a single page. But since you did everything you can, I want you to rest. You can still get about 3 hours sleep."

"But I need to…"

I stood up and held her hand and said, "Don't worry. I promise to wake you up if there's a dire need for revision. For now, I want you to rest and go to sleep, okay?"

To my surprise she finally agreed and said, "Okay. But if there's no need for revision, you should sleep as well, okay?"

I nodded in response and then she leaned forward and kissed me on the lips and left.

It was a smack coming from her but it's unfair. It was unexpected and I didn't have enough time to react and deepen the kiss.
