My Stubborn Mistress 382 Somewhere, Trapped In Time: The Watch

"Ca.s.sie, why don't you try on some clothes?"

Uncle Martin notices that I am just sitting in the corner. I replied to him. "I am good, Uncle Martin."

"You should also look something for you. If your mind changes, don't be hesitant to give them to the cas.h.i.+er and wrap it. I'll go outside to answer this call."

"Okay, Uncle Martin. Thank you."

I wonder, how did he fall in love with Lydia in this life? Well, Aunt Lydia in my life is kind and a nice person. Fate is playing around in our lives.

"Excuse me, I saw a watch displayed earlier in the window."

"I am sorry, sir. Someone purchases it already."

"Oh. Do you have another stock of it?"

"I am afraid it was the last one, sir. It is a limited edition, and the rest sold out already."

"I see."

"How about looking for something else, sir? We have other collections available." The store manager offers.

"Ah, but my niece wanted that watch."

"Oh. I'm very sorry, sir, but that's the last one. Maybe you can talk to the person who purchases it. He was still in the cas.h.i.+er, paying the watch."

"Really? But I wonder if he would sell it to me instead." he sighed.

Martin feels bad that he is late. He notices how Ca.s.sie cannot take away her eyes from it. Maybe it was the best gift for her birthday, but someone took the watch already. He checked out the customer who got the watch he needed. He saw a guy which a little familiar to him. He wonders if where he met this guy. 

"Good afternoon." He greeted him in English, but he looks like a French man.

"Good afternoon." The guy replied to him in French.

Martin is right to his guess that he is French. He then smiled, showing friendliness toward the guy. This is better, he could talk to him in French instead.

"Ah, I am just wondering. We have the same item to buy, but they were out of stock already. Um… My niece likes the watch. Sadly, it is the last one."

"How old is she?" The guy asked Martin.

"Fifteen. It's her birthday today."

"I see. Here, you can take it, Monsieur." The guy handed him the shopping bag where the watch box nicely wrapped.

"Oh, but you already purchase it!" It surprised him. Who is this guy to just give away something he bought already? He can't believe though, but he wants to make Ca.s.sie's birthday a special one. "Are you sure? Isn't you want to give it to someone dear to you?" he wants to a.s.sure.

"My sister died years ago. She likes the same characters but since someone could better have it, I am giving it." he smiled to him.

"Oh, then, thank you! Don't worry, my niece would take care of it. She keeps her things very well. Ah, wait! Let me return the amount you paid for it."

"Don't worry, Monsieur, I give it for free."

"Thank you very much then!"

Back in the hotel, Lydia and Mimie go out without her and Martin receives a call from his boss to have a drinking party which he can't refuse. This means she's left alone in the hotel.

"Ca.s.sie, are you okay being alone here?"

Uncle Martin asked me for the fifth times which made me giggled. "Don't worry, Uncle Martin. I want to take a rest too, so I am fine staying in the hotel."

"Okay, call me anytime if you need anything. Or something happens."

"Okay, Uncle Martin."

"Here, take this."

"Hum?" My eyes grow wider upon seeing the box Uncle Martin handed to me. It was the watch I was looking at the store window. "Uncle, how did you?"

"I saw that you can't take your eyes off from it, so I buy it. Someone already bought it, but when he learned that I want to give it to my niece, he gave that to me instead and it's for free! So basically, I did not pay for it, but he is glad to give it to you."

"Oh. I wonder who is he..." It intrigued me who might that guy.

"Actually, he is French having a business here in j.a.pan, too."

"Oh, a French?" 

Could it be that was Quinn? Then, the watch Ca.s.sie has in the book given by Quinn! Wait, a minute. Maybe some things entangle us in this life because of some things we did here? Oh, well, whatever it is, I am just happy Quinn is here too.

"I wish I could thank him, Uncle Martin."

"Yes. I am hoping to see him again. Oh, the boss is calling again. I have to go now."

"Okay, Uncle. Just enjoy the night, don't worry about me!" I encourage him.

"Bye, Ca.s.sie."

"Bye, Uncle Martin!" I waved at him before I close the door.

Yes! I am alone! I jumped, dropped my body into the bed. Being alone means, I could text Quinn and talk to him all night! I am praying Aunt Lydia and Mimie come back late tonight.

"Quinn!" I texted him.

"Hi. I saw they were leaving. You are alone now?"

"Hey, are you not going back to your hotel yet?"

"I don't want to." His reply to me. 

I giggled. Reading his messages, it sounded like Quinn is a little kid.

"Silly! But it's cold outside."

"Hmm… I am buying a coffee."

"Where?"

"Um, the closest 7/11 Convenience Store. They sell a lot of things. I like it."

"You haven't tried it before? I mean, back in our real life."

"Nope."

Why do I could tell that Quinn is blus.h.i.+ng right now? Who's haven't try 7/11 accommodation with instant food? Well, Quinn lives like a prince and probably he's trained to run their business at an early age.

"Tell me, are you the one who purchased the watch?"

"You like it?"

"No."

"Huh?"

I giggled alone. Gladly Mimie wasn't here. "I love it!"

"Silly girl, you owe me one for disheartening like this."

Quinn took a seat inside the store and waited for Ca.s.sie's reply. Did she fall asleep? Been ten minutes and still no reply. He got worried about her.

He dialed Ca.s.sie's number when a phone ringing behind him. He turned around, and a hug attacked him. Quinn amazed at her naughtiness. 

"You silly girl, you made me worried!"

I saw how his face twitches but full of concerns. "Want a punishment?" he added.

I giggled. Quinn is not the only one who has full of surprises I could too, and I did prove that to him today.

"Okay. Is warming your cheeks could be enough?" I place both of my palms into his cheeks. It was cold.

"Nope. That's not enough but this."

Quinn grabbed my waist, and he leans forward to cover my mouth. We've shared an intense kiss we longed all day after we've separated in the airport. 

d.a.m.n, I could feel hot glares on us. The other customers must be uncomfortable seeing us making out inside the store.

We quickly leave that place and find somewhere we could make out. Sound embarra.s.sing and later we realize that still, j.a.pan is a conservative country for a public display acts; like being too intimate at each other.

While strolling the nearby shopping centers, we're looking around might we b.u.mp into Mimie and Aunt Lydia. We tried different foods around and it is satisfying.

Tilted my head on the side, I watched Quinn who is enjoying his food a lot. I remembered that j.a.pan is one place we will visit during our honeymoon. And we did come here together before our wedding.

"What's the matter?"

Quinn asked me after he'd notice that I am quiet and staring at him. "Nothing. I am just happy that we are together on this special day."

"Soon, we will be together and won't ever apart again."

I nodded. I keep praying that this day would come… I looked up to the night sky, and it surprises me. 

It is the Blue Moon!
