She followed the map app on her phone and finally, reached her destination. 'It's been a while. How are you doing?'
The bouquet in her right hand was slightly wrinkled as her emotions went slightly out of control. Even though she was standing in front of her grave, it felt unreal. She felt empty looking at the tombstone engraved with her own name, yet the person in it wasn't herself. 'Exactly how much would I love to be the one sleeping several feet underground right now?'
She tilted her head up; her eyes following a few birds as they flew across the clear blue sky. With the sun s.h.i.+ning brightly down at her, her tears slowly dried. She took a deep breath, bent forward, and laid the flowers on her grave. Before she got back up, her knees lost strength, and her palms felt the surface of the engraved words.
The tears that she had been holding on for all these years were finally making moist trails down her skin. Her face no longer holds the youth she once had. Her tears, no longer came from happiness; it was all despair. Her fingers traced her name on the tombstone, yet all she could do was leave her mouth opened and let out cries that didn't sound like cries. She couldn't call out or say anything she wished to. The lump in her throat clogged the saliva she wanted to swallow. The heaviness in her chest grew heavier as she stared at the picture on the tombstone. She let it all out - the grief, the pain, the guilt, all of it came out like a waterfall.
Her face was still slightly wet and her eyes stared at the tombstone, 'I'm sorry. You shouldn't have died. It was all my fault. I was the one who should be dead right now! Me!' After calming down, her eyes were still red and swollen as she opened the boxes of food on the gra.s.s and poured tea into the empty tea cups. She bowed in respect and poured the tea on the ground, 'Here's some of your favorite tea. Drink some of it with me. I'm sorry for not visiting you for so long. Sister.'
Ying Ying sat down by the grave side and talked nonstop mouthing out air as if someone was sitting and listening to her. When she got tired, she leaned against the tombstone and hugged it, as if it had taken the form of the person she missed dearly; her sister, Mei Ching. Another tear dripped out of the corner of her left eye, staining her face. 'I need to go now. I'll come back very soon. Don't worry, I will take care of her for you. You can rest in peace, okay?'
Before she left, she had kissed the warm tombstone and smiled, 'I'll bring her to you next time, I promise. By then, she should be mature enough to understand the situation. Hopefully, she will come back soon, though.'
When she got back to Yang household, everyone has been back already. They waited for Ying Ying to come back so that they could start their feast. This was the last dinner that they were making for Ya Nuo before she moves in with Huan Hei. Therefore, both families were chattering at the diner table happily.

Once she opened the door, everyone greeted her warmly, making her feel the warmth coming from the bottom of her heart. Mother Yang used to get bored when everyone was either off to school or work, but with Ying Ying's company, they became great friends quickly. Ying Ying was reluctant to get emotionally attached at first, but this family really treated her with genuine kindness. How could she not feel moved by their affection?
Honestly, she already treated them as her own family after staying with them for the last few years. She saw how wonderful and peaceful this small family is. They were simple, modest, and didn't once look down on her because she couldn't speak. Instead, they would respect and include her in everything. From meals to family gatherings, never once was she ever left out.
The moment she entered the house, Mother Yang quickly hugged her arm and smiled, 'Dear, have you eaten? Come, come, we were all waiting for you before we start dinner. We've set Ya Nuo and Huan Hei's big day to a month from today! We're celebrating and couldn't start without you~"
Ying Ying slipped into her slippers and followed Mother Yang's lead to the dining room. She quickly typed, "Congratulations to the both of you!! Finally, you two are getting married. My neck was growing longer and longer each day waiting for you two to announce your wedding arrangements!"
"Thank you~~ Hahaha, Auntie Ying Ying, you sound like our parents. They were waiting for this day for so long!" Ya Nuo laughed after seeing her message. It already became a habit of calling her 'Auntie Ying Ying' since she is an elder and deserved the respect. They became close like family as Ying Ying loosened up and communicated with the family.
During that party, Qi Yang was giving Huan Hei some pointers when living with Ya Nuo. He whispered to Huan Hei, "Remember, don't throw your socks sloppily or you'll get scolded until you climb up the ceiling. When living with this girl, she says one, don't bother with saying number two. It's useless. Sigh. Don't look at her acting all tough, she hides herself under the blankets or in the closet when she hears thunder. She's a weak old cat lady inside who enjoys tea and desserts. She might look all jumpy and happy, but she keeps it in her heart. I love this little sister dearly, so if you dare make her cry or bully her, you will wish to be dead than alive."
"Heyy! What are you two kiddos chatting about in your guys corner without me? Hmmm?" Ya Nuo glanced at them like lasers scanning every bit of their body language trying to catch their foxy tails.
"N..nothing." Qi Yang gulped subconsciously and quickly drank his cup of ice water. He winked sideways at Huan Hei to keep what he said a secret. As a response, Huan Hei grinned sideways when he grabbed a piece of oven fresh garlic bread.
"Suspicious..." It wasn't clear when she had moved over to Huan Hei's side, but when she whispered an inch away from his ears, he choked on his bread. She handed him a cup of water and patted his back.
"You want to know what we were talking about? huuuh? Do you realllllllly want to know?" Qi Yang teased with a handsome smile on his face.
Ya Nuo rubbed her sharp chin a few times before nodding. "I was telling him about...." Qi Yang gestured her to go closer to him as he wiggled his index finger back and forth.
"What?" She bent down.
"Not telling you." He let out a small laugh and dodged her playful slaps.
"Hahahah, yo, control your wife, would you? Geez, are you going to hit your husband like that too?" he jokingly remarked. If he knew he had to see the next scene, he would've swallowed those words back down his throat.
Huan Hei got up from his seat, wrapped an arm around her waist and put his other free hand under her chin, "Done." She was fully distracted and calm in his arms. In fact, everyone had missed the mischievous look in her eyes when he laid his fingers around her body. 'The night is still young.'
