", she approached him trying to show him the baby but Chenglei was in no mood to look at his son and dashed inside the bedroom, almost pus.h.i.+ng Xiao Mei . "I almost regretted not having you by my side", she said as he brought her to the bathroom to wash up. She knew even if she was tired, she won't be able to sleep before was.h.i.+ng up. Everything was already readied by her maids and he sent everyone out since he wanted to do everything for her himself.

His thoughts were enough for her and she mostly didn't feel like he abandoned her. But for him, he wished to be physically by her side.

Seeing her still walking, he picked her up.

"Come on! I can walk by myself", she grunted.

"I know you can. But Xing, you just gave birth. You are allowed to take rest for a week or so. You can do everything by yourself after you are healed. No one will take anything from you", he kissed her lips not letting her refute him and placed her in the bed. He didn't know what they did but their room was filled with a pleasant smell by now.

Xing who felt relaxed after was.h.i.+ng, sat leaning on the headboard while Chenglei placed a cus.h.i.+on to support her back.

"Does it hurt?", he asked placing his hand in her belly that still was big.

"Yeah... I will. Just rest...do you want something? Soup or... ", he wanted to make her comfortable first.

"Your father really tried to leave with the baby! He didn't even visit you and tried to steal our baby, Xing!", Chenglei was plenty surprised as he entered the room with their baby in his hand and Xinxin in tow.

Xinxin ran and sat beside Xing and Chenglei held the baby carefully as he sat and took a good look at the baby.
