Marco flinched, hoping for the best and for her not knowing why he is called Crimson f.u.c.ker, then walked towards the Mermaid Pub with Alice behind him.

He reached the place and opened the doors, and everyone looked at him trying to intimidate him, but when they recognized him, they smirked.

Men: He's back!!/ The Crimson f.u.c.ker!/ Hey! Welcome back! You want any more drink? I'll pay this time!

Meanwhile, the mermaids were blus.h.i.+ng and giggling between themselves, making Alice behind him suspicious. Then, a rough man came out from the group with a smile.

Marco: Hey, Joey…

Joey: h.e.l.lo again, Crimson f.u.c.ker, you want any other drink?

Marco: …I need to leave the Kingdom…

Marco: I may forgive you since you didn't even wished for his death and that it was a big accident… But you deserved that slap. I will not kill you, you can even continue to do your things from Illias Kreuz, I sincerely don't care unless you stand in my way.

Lazarus just looked at him, and sighed before letting out a smile.

Lazarus: Am I really so easy to look through?

Marco: No, you just look like a d.a.m.n hobo, Christ, you have money, no? Go cut your hair or change clothes… Your appearance alone make others think that you are gone mad…

Lazarus started to laugh, and stood up, then he said with a grin.

Lazarus: Alright… Then we will see each other another time… Marcellus' Son… Still, you should not stay here that long if you want to have a safe travel, you don't know what alcohol could do.

Then he walked away from the inn, and Marco finished his drink.

Alice: How were you be able to handle that… I thought you should be angry…

Marco: Like I said before, he didn't want to kill him, my father and I didn't bonded that much compared to my mother so I don't really feel the same things I felt for her death and it looks like my father's death driven him mad, I think that is already enough as a punishment…

Then Marco stood up and took with him the bag that Lazarus 'forgot' to bring.

Alice: ...Why are you taking his bag?

Marco: Don't worry, you will see it soon… Bye guys!!

Everyone: Bye Crimson f.u.c.ker!!

Marco: *Sigh* Let's leave…

Alice nodded and Marco and she walked out from the pub, then, unexpectedly for Alice, Marco temporarily used the 1st Gate and threw the bag in the sky and deactivated the 1st Gate.

Alice watched the bag flying in the sky, it was really high…

The bag exploded with a loud noise, surprising Alice and everyone else, except for Marco, it seems that Lazarus put a bomb in the bag and left it in the Mermaid Pub, wis.h.i.+ng for it to explode. But Marco already knew the story so he knew what would happen.

Marco just walked away from the explosion, which settled down, and then turned to Alice.

Marco: What are you waiting for? Let's go.

Alice just looked at him strangely before sighing and following him, if she would stop and think about what is doing Marco the entire time, she would never move from the spot, so she gave up and walked away.

Both of them walked away from the kingdom, to get Gnome. Alice turned back in the familiar Monster form, while Marco looked at north.

Marco: Alright, let's go to get Gnome.

Alice: Oh? Finally decided to find Gnome? Once you get her powers, there's no reason to stay in this hot desert anymore.

Marco: Don't worry, I already finished everything here… Let's go to north… She should be at Safaru's Ruins.

Alice nodded and slithered beside Marco, starting once again their journey together and alone.

It was starting to get dark, and they reached the ruins, there were many pieces of stones scattered around, and far away from them there was a pillar sticking up out of the sand.

There was a dark skinned small girl standing behind him and looking at him with her big green eyes, she had long black hair and sharp and short ears.

She wore a brown jester's hat with green decorations, she had a green s.h.i.+rt with long sleeves and a big collar, covering her mouth, and cheeks, she wore a brown dress under the green s.h.i.+rt and had a pair of brown boots.

Sylph: Oh! It's her! It's her!

Marco: 'Here she is…' Hey little girl… Are you Gnome?

Marco just asked it straight away, and the girl nodded, she was Gnome, the spirit of earth, and a really shy little girl.

Marco: So… You want a bite?

Gnome nodded once again and Marco gave her his kebab, she looked at it and blushed in embarra.s.sment before taking a small bite from it. Her expression seemed one of a really joyous person, even if she didn't show it much.

Marco: Alright… Now, I want to ask you something… Can I borrow your pow-

He was interrupted when a green flash came near his face and got near Gnome.

Sylph: Yay! Gnomey! Hey, Gnomey… You should come with this human so we can play together!

Gnome: ...

Sylph: ...I see. That's true…. You just met Marco, didn't you.

Marco: '...Huh?'

Sylph turned towards Marco and said with a smile.

Sylph: She wants to lend you her power, but she needs you to show her your abilities first….

Gnome: …

Sylph: Oh? She said that the food was incredibly good! Hey hey! Can I have a bite too?

Marco sighed and smiled, then he gave away half of his kebab to Sylph, and gave the other half to Gnome.

Marco: You can even eat it all… Once you finished eating we will start the test, alright?

Gnome nodded and both her and Sylph started to eat.

After finis.h.i.+ng, Sylph told Gnome bye and entered back in Marco's mind, then Gnome walked some meters away from him and turned, gazing at him, she created many dolls around herself, signaling the start of the test.

Marco immediately used the 1st Gate, he couldn't do the same thing he did with Sylph, he needs to fight for real, so he just rushed at Gnome.

Marco: Let's go!
