The Avarice System 1 Prologue.

"What am I missing? The thing I desire is within my reach! Why cannot I take it and become the greatest?!?"

The small room in the rented apartment. The old man was sitting on the couch and screaming to the world. His name was Marcus, one of the greatest scientists on Earth and the greatest failure at the same time.

"Nothing is important anymore. This world is worth nothing without you.HAHAHA!"

His wife died of brain cancer, and he lost interest in living. He failed to save her. It was his fault that he couldn't invent the cure for her. He loved his wife more than the entire world.

The science has failed him, so he searched no scientific means to save her and non-scientific means didn't help him either. Despite discovering things that couldn't be explained with the law of physics, he couldn't be happy because his darling was dying. All struggle for nothing...

The pain of loss and feeling of helplessness was the only things he had.

"If the world took everything from me. I will take everything from for myself."

His genius allowed him, to create multiple world-shaking technologies. The purpose was clear, making the whole world belong to him, then conquering the entire universe and becoming the (owner) of everything.

Most people on Earth weren't aware that he was slowly controlling every aspect of their lives. In the beginning, it was innocent although as time pa.s.sed, Marcus started to affect politics and religious aspects of their lives. It was his worst mistake since some people started to track his movements. He didn't predict his own demise, the many forces formed an alliance to destroy him and his plans.

One night, it took only one night to destroy his entire plans. They struck into his main base and destroyed him. Due to luck or misfortune, he managed to escape from death. All of his projects and technologies fell into their hands, and his body was on the verge of death.

"I failed. The entire world wouldn't let me possess itself."

He escaped from death, yet at a terrible cost.

"Darkness is beautiful. I miss you, Alice." After these words, he died and none will ever remember him.

"You are right, little lost soul." Said unknown voice.

Marcus regained consciousness but the only thing he saw was darkness. He tried to move but there wasn't any feeling in his body. There absolutely no feeling. No pain, no sorrow. It was nothing.

"Hahaha. What a funny struggle! Little soul, you won't be able to talk or do anything. You are a little strand of soul and it's impossible." Said the same voice while laughing.

"You see, your attempt to conquer the world was quite interesting. I thought, why not grant you another chance. I will let you live another life in one of the most chaotic worlds."

"I will give you a gift because I enjoyed your performance on Earth. OK, enough of chitchat."

The voice said and Marcus lost consciousness again.

A few hours later, a young boy with white hair was terribly beaten up by a group of thugs. He was resisting for some time but after half of the hour, his body stopped moving.

[Body found.]

[Binding body with a soul.]

[Binding complete.]

[Awakening the soul of the host.]

"ARGHHHH. What the h.e.l.l? Why this hurts so much?" Marcus awake and felt an incredible level of pain.

[The life-threatening wounds are being repaired. The host should stop moving and wait patiently.]

"s.h.i.+t! Who the f.u.c.k are you?" Marcus asked angrily.

[I am Avarice System.]

"Avarice System? What the h.e.l.l?!?" Marcus stopped screaming from pain and thought for a moment, but he couldn't recall his ident.i.ty or anything from his past life. He knew one thing for sure, he died in his previous life.

"Why I cannot remember anything from my previous life?"

[Repair of the body complete. The question cannot be answered.]

"What? Why?" Marcus was confused and asked another question.

[That's easy. You have no permission to access this knowledge.]

Marcus sat on the ground watching his surroundings, it was middle of nowhere. The memories weren't there but some of his habits were imprinted inside of his soul.

"Hmmm. Panicking will not help me in any way right now. You, the system can you help me in any way?"

[Answering to the host. GPS system is locked. The system recommends a host to rest until the dawn.]

"That's right. If there is anyone or anything to kill me, my decision won't change anything. I need rest to move and on the day I would see where am I."

A moment later, he was sleeping. Most of the wounds were repaired by the system but tiredness and pain didn't disappear completely.

"Son, I am disappointed in you. I thought you will inherit at least part of my talent. Look at you, you are worse than ordinary... Don't even try to search me, you don't deserve to be my son." The man said with disdain in his voice and threw 5-year boy out of his carriage middle of the village.

The next years were worse for this boy. He was weak and different, an ideal target for local bullies. Pain and hunger were only two things he knew during these years. It was final night, most of the local thugs were drunk, and he was lucky enough to be on their way, and he was beaten to death.

Morning, next day.

"These dreams? It was the life of the (owner) of this body." He thought and felt anger. The things didn't happen to him but this body is now his, and he needed to take responsibilities related to it.

"It's stupid but this boy was called Aron. So I will be Aron from now on. I wouldn't care about these people but this body is mine right so it was like they were bulling me and what's most important I don't let any f.u.c.ker bully me!" He said with wrath in his eyes.

He stood up and watched his surroundings. This place was pretty far from the village. It was outskirts of the local forest, the thugs must have dropped this body here to not leave any proof of their deed. This world looked like middle ages and none cared about lives but killing in public was still a crime.
