Carrying a packed home-cooked lunch given by Tobias, she waves to the handsome man sitting in his car before stepping into the building.
Tobias watches her figure disappear and his gaze darkens. He looked down for a moment, his eyes gazing at his hands with a blank stare.
Sighing heavily, his long fingers ran through his black hair, which s.h.i.+fted back into place once his hand had gone past.
Taking a deep breath, Tobias drives the car into the company parking lot.
…
"We'll go over everything within the next two days. Until then, the meeting is adjourned." Tobias stands up from his seat along with the rest of the board members.
As Tobias left the conference room to go down the hall, a man's voice stops him.
"Mr. Itou, may I have a moment of your time?"
The cold man directs his gaze to the group of old men approaching him, a young woman whom he recognizes as Lina Tong following behind them.
However, his eyes lock on the figure in front. He recognized him as Lee Odo.
"Mr. Odo," Tobias looked at the group indifferently.
Lee Odo, standing in front, smiled. "I see another good day of work today."
Tobias sounded an 'en' in reply. Not taking offense to the man's few words; he chuckled.
"A little fellow told me you have a knack for cooking. I wonder if your schedule is free, you'd like to go for drinks and share some recipes with me?"
The older men, including Lina Tong, looked at Lee Odo with surprise.
He called him all this way to ask for recipes?!
Lina Tong felt slightly surprised as she stole a glance at the stunning figure before her. He wore a sharp dark navy suit, a white s.h.i.+rt, and a navy tie. The dark color of the suit matched perfectly with his light tan skin and black, cold eyes.
Tobias Itou knew how to cook! And based on Lee Odo's praise and eagerness to s.n.a.t.c.h his recipes, he must be a skilled cook!
At that moment, Lina Tong could imagine the handsome businessman dressed sophisticatedly in an ap.r.o.n, his beautiful long fingers chopping away at a cutting board.
Realizing her thoughts had gone elsewhere, her face flushed slightly as she shook her head.
To have such thoughts of her superior, not to mention a partner in business, she felt ashamed!
Unaware of the woman's turmoil, Tobias Itou and Lee Odo continued their conversation. When Tobias heeded the old man's words, he raised an eyebrow. He knew the fellow he was referring to was none other than Mimi.
He pressed his lips together and finally said, "All right."
Lee Odo's face brightened, and he laughed joyously.
"Then it's settled! Contact my a.s.sistant when you're free!"
Tobias nodded and without another word, walked away from the group of men and Lina Tong while his a.s.sistant relays his schedule. Lee Odo simply grinned and turned around, seemingly pleased with the outcome as he left the building.
The group of men quickly followed along with Lina Tong as she followed behind her boss. Before leaving, she cautiously swept her gaze to the strong back of Tobias Itou. Her heart tightened for a moment and she reverted her gaze.
After work, Tobias checked his schedule to note it was free. Looking at his watch, it was near closing time. Although he wanted to catch ahead on more work, he recalled his previous promise to Lee Odo.
Thinking about this, Tobias felt extremely tired and sighed into his chair. He clicked the intercom on his desk and called in Juno – his a.s.sistant.
"Yes, Mr. Itou?"
Never s.h.i.+fting his gaze away from the papers in front of him, Tobias ordered, "Inform Mr. Odo that I'll be attending drinks with him tonight. Please make sure Mimi makes it home safely."
Juno nods while typing something down in his tablet.
"Yes, Mr. Itou. I've delivered a message to Mr. Odo and Ms. Mimi."
Tobias grunted in reply. He had neatly piled up the files on his desk and placed them in his drawer before he stood up from his seat to leave the office.
As he left the company, Tobias didn't bother to change clothes and drove himself to the location sent by Lee Odo.
A few minutes pa.s.sed, and he arrived in front of an established restaurant called TOASTA. It was a French bar and restaurant.
Tobias looked up at the building, he was no stranger to it. He frequently came here during business deals or simply for a drink during his first years of becoming a CEO.
As he recalled those seemingly old memories, his dark pupils dimmed. Tobias sighed and strode into the restaurant.
...
When Lee Odo stepped out of the elevator in a black suit, he wasn't surprised to note all eyes were on the man sitting lazily by the bar counter.
Tobias wore a navy blue, sharp suit, cla.s.sic academic style. His whole body was filled with an elegant and intellectual, but also cold and dangerous atmosphere.
He sat on a wooden stool by the bar window, one hand supporting his cheek, the other holding a small gla.s.s of liquor. He looked as if he was meditating, tranquil perfection like an oil painting.
The old man smirked and strode over to sit down beside him.
Lee Odo raised a hand to the bartender. "One snakebite, please."
The bartender nodded and went to prepare the old man's drink. Lee Odo smiled and glanced at the man drinking calmly beside him.
"I do apologize. It was I who invited you here, yet I've made you wait."
"Mm." Tobias's face was impa.s.sive.
Lee Odo chuckled in response and thanked the bartender as he gave him his drink.
"I'm guessing from the last we saw one another you've made up with Andras?"
Tobias's mood visibly s.h.i.+fts. His eyes soften and his expression warms, and Lee Odo detects a trace of a smile on his face.
"Yes." Tobias lifts his cup to his beautifully chiseled lips.
"Haha, well, that's good to hear! I was rather worried when I noticed the difference in the lad. Believe it or not, but when the two of you are around you both seem to glow."
While Lee Odo chuckled to himself and sipped his drink, all kinds of complex emotions were mixing and exploding in Tobias's chest.
But he didn't show it on his face, and he s.h.i.+fted his head a little and asked, "May I ask you something?"
