Fu Qinglun turned around, bending over to ruffle Little Lemon’s hair. “Daddy will not marry another woman, Daddy is just wanting to force your mommy to make a decision.”

The bathroom door opened and Lin s.h.i.+yu lowered her eyes to look at Little Lemon but she gaped. Little Lemon had a nosebleed.

“Little Lemon!” Lin s.h.i.+yu exclaimed.

Suddenly, Little Lemon’s eyes shut and she fainted.

Lin s.h.i.+yu stretched her arms out to hold Little Lemon but Fu Qinglun was quicker than her. He had already caught hold of Little Lemon.

“Hurry up and go to the hospital, I’ll call Sikong!”

At the hospital.

The red light outside the operating theater lit up and Lin s.h.i.+yu just stood along the corridor, her body all stiff. She looked at the red light dazedly. Just how many times did she have to go through the exact same process in the past three years? It was the same. She would have to stand along the corridor and watch Little Lemon get pushed into the operating theater for emergency treatment.

Her limbs were cold, as though there was no temperature.

Sikong was geared in his mask and scrubs and he quickly stepped into the operating theater. Bam. The door closed in front of Lin s.h.i.+yu.

Lin s.h.i.+yu slumped against the door, there was a panel on the door but it was covered with a curtain. She wasn’t able to see a thing at all.

But she just stayed there, trying hard to peer inside. She scratched at the door with her fingernails till it started hurting.

“s.h.i.+’s.h.i.+, let go!” A deep voice was heard from behind. Her hand was held onto by a large hand.

Lin s.h.i.+yu turned behind to look, her soulless gaze landed on the man. Fu Qinglun had arrived and stood before her.

She slowly let go.

Fu Qinglun held onto her hands, they were so cold and her fingers were all stiff. Her fingernails were all b.l.o.o.d.y as she had scratched at the door too hard.

As though someone was squeezing his heart tightly, it hurt to even breathe. It was his first time seeing her behave this way when Little Lemon had to be rushed for emergency treatment.

Her eyes went blank and she turned soulless. She looked like she was about to collapse anytime, but she still stood strong.

She was looking over Little Lemon, waiting for her.

With Mommy here, Little Lemon wouldn’t be afraid.

“Fu Qinglun, nothing bad will happen to Little Lemon right?” Lin s.h.i.+yu looked at him for affirmation.

He planted a kiss on her cold cheek and with a voice that only the two of them could hear, he said, “Just let it all out, you’ll feel better if you just cry.”

Lin s.h.i.+yu could only watch over Little Lemon from the room and she said, “Little Lemon had to stay in an incubator once she was born. The doctors would warn me to be mentally prepared every single day, Little Lemon’s life would be in danger anytime. I would secretly cry every night during that time.

“It was only after some time I was allowed to carry Little Lemon in my arms. Although she was really frail and small, her eyes were huge and she would just look at me. There was once my tears dripped onto her face and she was so scared and started wailing.

“From that day onwards, I don’t dare to cry at all.”

Fu Qinglun furrowed his brows while listening to their experiences. Unbidden tears welled up in his eyes and he turned her around, holding onto the back of her head while hugging her tightly.

His lips were on her hair as he murmured, “s.h.i.+’s.h.i.+, you can cry now. I’m here, I’ll always be here for you.”

Little Lemon was sent into the ICU and she still hadn’t woken up yet. It was a critical 24 hours for her.

Lin s.h.i.+yu had been with Little Lemon at the hospital for the entire night and she had finally fallen asleep around dawn by her bed.

But she suddenly felt something cooling on her fingers. When she slowly opened her eyes, under the faint lighting, Fu Qinglun was holding onto her hands. He was wiping her injured fingernails with alcohol swabs carefully.
