Chapter 95: The First Cla.s.s. Cheat sheet at the bottom.

We continued to enjoy some three-way skin s.h.i.+p, until we finally noticed.

Today is the first day of school.

If we don't get ready soon, we will be late.

We quickly got dressed, rushed to the cafeteria, had breakfast, and then rushed to school.

The school building is right across from the dormitory. However despite the close proximity, it will still take awhile to get to cla.s.s. Because the school is ma.s.sive. Meaning it doesn't matter if it's across from the dormitory, it is hard to find your own cla.s.s.

After finding our cla.s.s location from the nearby bulletin board, we rushed towards our cla.s.s.

Rig and I were in the first year cla.s.ses.

We got to our cla.s.sroom a bit late. It was right when the lecture just started and everybody was seated.

"I didn't expect our two honor students to be late on the first day."

Oh, It was Lilinsensei at the podium.

Is this fate? Or is the school actually small in spite of it's scale?

"I apologize Sensei."

"I-I'm sorry!"

Rig bowed to our sensei and gave a graceful but sincere apology. While I stumbled in my panicked one.

"It's alright. Now take a seat and we can begin our first lesson."

Following Lilinsensei's request. We took our seats.

The cla.s.sroom was not set up like a typical high school you'd see in my past life.

It was a large cla.s.sroom with no individual desk, but rather rows of long horizontal tables with chairs aligning them.

All the seats were free for the taking with no designated seating. It was actually rather similar to my previous life's college.

Rig and I were on our way to take our seats, when we then noticed my Onee-sama and Anne-chan.

Apparently they are in the same cla.s.s. . .How small is this school?. . .

After finding them, we went sat beside them.

"Good morning Fari, Rigurett-sama."

"Good morning."

My Onee-sama gave us a bitter smile.

"I thought you didn't want to stand out?"

"Uuu. . .but I was late because of Rig and Kami-sama."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, that's right."

Then Rig explained the "Fari Pact" to them, and why it caused us to be late.

Well, because apparently my Onee-sama and Anne-chan were also members of the accord.

We'll talk about it later after cla.s.s.

By the way, in our school, cla.s.ses are divided into several subjects.

They includes, Magical Theology, Magic Practice, Hunter Culture, Raw Material Studies, Mathematics, Language Studies, History, Monster Studies, and Teamwork Training. . . There are so many of them. . .

Mathematics, Language, and History are just the bare minimum. To simply put it, they are just there so we don't get into trouble. So those will be taught maybe only once or twice a week.

All the other subjects are directly related to the task of a hunter. For those, there are four to five lessons per week.

By the way, the magic practice will be held at the "Magic Department."

The Magic Department isn't just for wizards. Any students with magical potential could attend there.

For example, Anne-chan is a vanguard fighter. However she has a E+ magic, and even she can use the Magic Department.

Lilinsensei will be in charge of most of the cla.s.ses for us, along with her being our homeroom teacher.

Apparently before she started to teach, she was an ranked hunter that once worked as a royal magician.

What an amazing person.

Chapter 96: Hunter Culture Cla.s.s.

"- – -Well, let's get on to the lesson. Now then which subject shall we do today? Hmm- – -how about Hunter Culture?"

After Lilinsensei decided, she began to write some letters on the blackboard.

She began to write the "English" letters "S" "A" and "F".

By the way, this only began apparent to me recently. I grew up speaking and reading this language, but with reference to my past life. I started to see some similarities to the languages of Phantasm and my previous life.

It's a rather weird mixture of several languages together.

For one, there is a mixture of Kanji and English letters, but not necessarily just English words. Along with normal Arabic numerals.

English letters are primarily used over the Kanji like counterpart. The grammar is also based around an English like format.

"Well then ladies and gentlemen, do you know about ”Ranks" ?"

She finished her writings and continued to talk.

"Most people know about Hunter's Rank, but do any of you know what the country of St.Valeria's guild's Hunter Ranking is based on?"

While saying that, Lilinsensei started to write more on the blackboard behind her.

"First of all, let's mention a common rank system used in our home country of St.Valeria. One called "Attack Rank" and the other called "Resistance Rank.""

She wrote and talk so smoothly entwined.

How was she doing it so skillfully?

"Well then, Fari-kun. Do you know anything about an Attack Rank?"

"W-What!?"

I was completely caught off guard. 

Sadly, I have no idea.

"I-I don't know. . ."

"Fuu. . .Then you have more to gain by listening."

"Understood. . ."

I could feel my face burning up.

As well as the eyes of my cla.s.smates on me.

This is bad, I was already the odd one out because of my tardiness, and now this.

I really hate standing out.

"Well, how about you, Rigurett-kun. Do you know the answer?"

"I do."

She stood up and then continued to explain.

"Attack Rank and Resistance Rank, were Ranks originally proposed by Cla.s.sical Heroism. Attack Rank looks at an individual's raw magical or attack power stats, while ignoring any attack abilities. While Resistance Rank does the same, but only with defensive stats instead. I heard that Hunter Rank's can actually be determined by these Attack Ranks and Resistance Rank."

"Alright, Very good."

Lilinsensei seems content with Rig's explanation.

"So I'll write the approximate standard Attack and Resistance Rank. That being said, it is worth noting that the Hunter Rank heavily prefer Attack over Resistance. It has been said that if you are aiming to be a high ranked hunter, having a high attack rank is the shortcut to get that."

As she said that, she started to write more words on the blackboard.

First off is Attack Rank.

S: For those who can use a Special and powerful attack that can instantly kill any monsters.

A: For those who can instantly defeat powerful monsters with a special attack ability.

B: Those who can easily defeat powerful monsters.

C: Can instantly defeat ordinary monster and can damage even powerful monsters.

D: Has enough attack power to defeat an ordinary monster.

E: Does not have enough attack power to bring down an ordinary monster.

F: Little to no attack power at all.

"Um, Lilinsensei!"

"What is it Fari?"

I raised my hand to ask.

"What level is a powerful monster?"

"Oh, hmm. . .for example, if we base it off monsters that live nearby, if you could instantly kill Cyclops without chanting, then you'll have an A rank equivalent Attack Rank."

"I-I see."

I couldn't help but go pale.

It was a bulls eye.

Does she?. . .No way, how would that even be possible. It was just a coincidence.

Chapter 97: Keep an Eye on Fari.

Now it's time to look at the Resistance ranking.

S: Can withstand many special attacking techniques. Will not die.

A: You will not take damage from normal attacks. Can also withstand special attacks techniques to some extent.

B: Extremely high resistance which reduces most damage from normal attacks.

C: Life, Defense power, and magical resistance. Etc. Is high, and can withstand considerable amount of damage.

D: Life, Defense power, and Magical resistance are slightly higher than normal and can withstand some damage.

E: Takes damage normally.

F: A single touch could kill them.

Hmm. . .

What is a special attack?

"Now then, some of you may be wondering what does a special attacking technique means."

She read my mind.

"An example of one type, is there are some special magical techniques which completely ignore opponents barriers, resistances and invincible techniques. . . These attacks may penetrate any special defensive skills as well, therefore giving it the name special attacking technique."

It pierces barriers and invincibility.

I could feel fear creep through my body.

There are some attacks that will completely negate my high magical resistance?

"There are also various other special techniques, but. . .in short, it's purely attacks that cannot be prevented by any ordinary defenses. Although you shouldn't need to worry about that. The monster encountered by ordinary hunters will rarely be anything over B rank. So you won't need to worry about actually fighting somebody who knows one."

I see.

After she explained that, she erased the Resistance ranks and began writing something new.

"With this, you should have a basic understanding of the three ranks. The Hunter Rank, Attack Rank, and Resistance Rank. So now I'll write an easy to understand list of what these ranks might mean for an individual."

Then she wrote.

S: Word leading legends. Heroes and Wise Men.

A: A country's domestic Apex. Royal Palace Knights among other things.

B: Those with a lack threat to them. Leading Knights rank.

C: Skilled hunters, Knights, and military officers.

D: Average hunters, novice knights, novice soldiers.

E: An ordinary person's level.

F: b.u.t.terfly level of strength.

"With that said, I'm hoping that you will have a C rank or higher by the time you graduate."

Everybody in the cla.s.s was taken aback. But still br.i.m.m.i.n.g with motivation and a fire in their eyes.

She really expects much from us.

That being said, I want to make her proud as well.

After that, Lilinsensei continued on for a while longer, telling us all about hunter common sense and what they should know.

Before I knew it, cla.s.s was already over.

My next cla.s.s is Magic Practice.

The cla.s.s was being held at the training grounds. 

Us four decided to walk together. The pure ruby squad, strolling through school.

"Cla.s.s was fun."

"Oh, Is this a new experience for Fari?"

"Yeah! I never knew it was so fun!"

I told Rig my excitement as she brushed my head.

"Let's all have fun together. – – -Okay Anne-cha~n!"

"Fnyah!?"

I pounced the fluffy Anne-chan.

"After all, Anne-chan is so nice. . ."

"I-It's ticklish."

" I haven't mofu'd all day. So just a little~"

"Nyah!?"

I filled up my mofu meter while hugging Anne-chan's body.

Rig and my Onee-sama watched on the sideline. Giggling at our expense.

After that, we happily walked and talked on our way to our next cla.s.s.

"- – -Hey you!"

Then a voice was heard behind us. 

We stopped and turned around.

There was a plump man standing there.

"Yes?"

"You're Fari, right? The one who got the highest grade at the final exam, right?"

He gave a broad smile. 

I have a bad feeling about this.

Chapter 98: A Wealthy Young Man.

"My name is Kent El Lizzarth. Son of the feudal lord Lizzarth."

"O-Okay?. . ."

So Mr. Chubby is named Kent-kun.

". . .What an insolent att.i.tude. You should show some more respect,  commoner!"

"Huh?"

I-I need to act respectful?

But Hunter's Academy has rules stating all students shall treat each other equally?

So regardless if they are a n.o.ble or commoner, there should be no caste system in the school. 

There are notices making sure we know that all around the school on the bulletin boards.

Anyways, being an aristocrat doesn't mean you're better than the rest.

"So, what is Kent-sama's business with us?"

My Onee-sama interjected and asked Kent directly.

"You do not matter, so be silent!"

"Oh my. So rude."

My Onee-sama acted like she was taken aback.

But I could tell she was faking it. 

Far from angry, she seemed like she was about to laugh.

If I'm honest though, I might burst out laughing as well.

Because he has such a stereotypical aristocratic feeling.

Almost like a casual villain.

"Oi, Fari. You shall be my minion."

"Huh?"

I tilted my head. Why is he saying something so weird.

"I'm telling you that you may be my minion. Do you understand?"

"What does that mean though?"

This time Rig interrupted.

"You girl, are you the one that lost to this child?"

"Child? Do you mean Fari? What of it?"

"You are so incompetent! Know your place and shut up!"

Now Kent-kun is insulting Rig.

Okay, now I'm getting mad.

From an interesting antagonist, to a target that must absolutely be crushed. I want to now defeat Kent-kun no matter what.

"Well, if the rumors are right, you came in second right? Therefore, what could you do for me?"

"How, funny. Like I'd even want to be anybody's subordinate."

"You wouldn't need to, because you are so weak and frail."

"Did you just call me weak?"

"That's right. You lost to a child. Doesn't that make you the most pitiful student this year?"

The insults keep on coming.

He must be super powerful for him to be this c.o.c.ky.

He was surprisingly weak.

Well, he is enrolled in the Hunter's Academy, so he is still strong enough to be a student.

But still, when compared to any member of the "Pure Ruby" group, Kent-kun seems really weak.

Considering his appearance, he is probably 16 years old, which is a pretty normal age for a Hunter's Academy student. And he must be enrolled for his earth apt.i.tude, as it is pretty decent.

Although considering that Rig has 4 B attribute ranks, and I'm all A attributes. It's still shocking to see only 1 C ranked. I guess that is usually what normal people have.

"Anyway Fari, you may be my minion. I am a genius mage with an Earth apt.i.tude of C. I can teach you some great magic."

"No thank you."

If I was going to be taught by anybody, I'd prefer it to be Rig.

Plus Rig's Earth apt.i.tude is B. So even objectively, she is the better choice.

Kent-kun went into a rage once I rejected him. His face was bright red from either embarra.s.sment or anger.

"Hey, did you not hear me!?" 

"One second, Kent-sama."

Then my Onee-sama interjected once again.

Chapter 99: A Match with a Pompous Boy.

"Fari is already teamed up with us, and is registered as a hunter already. She is already a part of our team."

"Well, if that's the case, then you should all be under me."

"Haha!"

It's impossible, I can't hold my laugh in anymore.

Kent-kun's entire att.i.tude is hilarious. I have to hide my face. It's too funny.

It's only me that knows about Kent-kun's true status, so it may just be me that finds it really funny.

However this could become troublesome.

Even if we refuse him, he will still probably continue to bother us. And above all that, I can't tolerate how he treated Rig.

So something has to be done.

"How about this Kent-sama? In the next magical practice cla.s.s, if you can beat Rigurett and the four of us, than everybody will become your subordinate."

"Oh, it's that easy? Well then that's fine, this discussion is over."

Kent-kun seemed to like that thought.

He must really think he can't lose.

After that, Kent-kun went towards the training grounds with high spirits.

". . .Ugh, disgusting. It can't be helped. Men should just die~."

My Onee-sama then said once Kent-kun left.

I should probably mention, but my Onee-sama doesn't like guys. I mean at all.

With the exception of my Papa, she hates all men.

Because of that, there were no men allowed at the D'azell estate, including all the Knights.

She truly despises them.

That being said, of course she keeps that opinion hidden most of the time.

"Oh, Quellsan. Do you perhaps hate men?"

"That's right. Just looking at the males makes me nauseous. You don't know how many times I've wanted to beat up that fat boy every time he opened his mouth."

"That bad, huh?. . . Although I can understand the feeling, he was p.i.s.sing me off."

Yup, Kent-kun is hated by Rig as well.

"Nyah, It was pretty interesting to see."

Anne-chan gave a comfortable laugh. She is calling him weird though.

"Ann, don't you think he was a disgusting piece of trash that should be stomped into the ground and extinguished? Don't you think just calling him interesting is too little? Especially for a man."

"No no, I actually have a dad, so just being a man isn't. . ."

"Parents are the exception. Anyway men are literal s.h.i.+t. You should admit that, or else I won't suck your blood like I do every night."

"Nyah!? T-That. . .That's a secret! Why are you saying that in front of Rig and Fari?"

"This is a serious matter. So what will you do?"

"Nyah. . .Guys are c.r.a.p. Is that enough?"

My Onee-sama seems to be leading Anne-chan down a dangerous path.

Or rather, needing to blood suck every night. Is she a smoker?

Anne-chan's dependency is worrying. It seems like they are no longer able to resist the pleasure of blood sucking.

By the way, Onee-sama's views aren't that uncommon.

Men are rare in this world, so they are often spoiled and get preferential treatment in most things.

Therefore, a lot of them grow up to be arrogant and ent.i.tled.

However, I should state that it is rare for somebody to hate men as fervently as my Onee-sama.

. . .It may be better for me to keep my previous life as a male a secret.

Okay, Kind of ending on a cliff hanger, but it can't be helped. It's been too long and the other chapters need to be connected. But finally! An antagonist appears, even if it is probably a minor character. Although we did get some interesting lore. Men are usually mean in Phantasm. And the reasoning is pretty sound.

Okay, so I'm moving the cheat sheet to the bottom. I've heard some people complaining about it and the rare people actually attacking me as a translator because of it. Not doing it for the latter(screw them). But for the nice people who asked for it. Also, I'm sure if it's more than one, than lurkers probably have a similar opinion.  I tried making it smaller, but word press just doesn't give me enough editing and writing options to actually shrink it like I want to.
