Chapter 56 – Fish Steaks

Misha got back to her capsule apartment. Along the way, her neighbors stared at the fishes in Misha's arms, drooling. Even the little girl who ate the c.o.c.kroach walked after Misha to see the fishes up close.

The girl's height was 120cm tall, and her youthful face indicated that she was about 7 to 8 years old.

*SHAA!*

As if Tama wanted to tell everyone that the fishes belonged to them, it hissed.

The c.o.c.kroach girl could not bear it anymore. She tugged the hem of Misha prisoner suit and asked, "Can I have the fish bones when you are done eating?"

Misha, who had bloodshot and bagged eyes, turned to the girl. She smiled and laughed.

"Oh well, I doubt we can eat this tuna and all fishes before they rot. Let's eat it together."

"YAY!"

The girl's partner also celebrated.

*MEAW!* (YAY!)

On the other hand, Tama protested.

*MEW!* (NAY! MY FIs.h.!.+)

Misha and the c.o.c.kroach girl walked away from the apartment as they did not have enough s.p.a.ce to cook the fishes. They picked an empty lot where the base gathered metallic trashes as their temporary kitchen.

Unfortunately, Misha and the girl did not have a knife or a stove to cook. In addition, they did not even have a plate or a container for the fishes.

"I will find you a barbeque set!"

The little girl volunteered to find a useful tool for cooking fishes, but Misha shook her head.

"I have an idea. Tama, can you hold your breath and bear with it for a few seconds? I promise I'll transform back to this body ASAP."

*Mrrr* (I don't like that body. It hurts.)

Tama whimpered as it was not confident of handling the pain and the heat from Misha's other body.

"You can eat half of the tuna."

*Mew!* (I fear nothing!)

Misha had a wry smile on her face. She turned her gaze toward the little girl.

"I'll show you a magic. But you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone."

The girl nodded, "Sure!"

"What's your name?"

"Mana!"

*Meow!* (I'm Manee!)

"My partner is Manee."

"Okay, Mana and Manee. Don't tell anyone!"

Misha transformed into Mia, and the air around him changed. The temperature of his body increased, which Tama could feel the burning pain.

*Mrrr* (It hurts!)

"Two more seconds, Tama."

Meanwhile, Mana widened her eyes, "Big beautiful sister turns into big little cute sister!"

Mia almost vomited a mouthful of blood. An electric spark zapped out from his temples as his brain went short circuit for a split of a second.

'Concentrate! Tama is in pain right now!'

By combining his basic Pyrokinesis and Electrokinesis, Mia manipulated the temperature of his surroundings. The tuna and two seaba.s.ses in his arms heated up and became grilled fishes in an instant.

Upon finished cooking, Mia immediately transformed back to Misha.

"Tama, are you alright?"

*Mrrr* (It still hurts, but the heat is gone.)

*Nom-Nom!* (It doesn't matter. My fis.h.!.+)

"Haha. Okay! Let's divide the fish."

Misha used her hands to divide the three fishes. She gave a half of a seaba.s.s, half of the guts, fish bones, and a portion of tuna steak to Mana and Manee. Meanwhile, Tama got half of the tuna, including the tuna's head, while Misha kept the rest of eatable parts.

Tama converted two of its tentacles into mouths, which began biting and chewing the fish meat before absorbing it into the transparent tentacle. The meat flowed into the main body of Tama and digested into small particles.

By the instinct of a growing baby, Tama manipulated these particles into its veins instead of sending them into Misha's system.

Observing how Tama ate its food with a smile, she kept thinking of the words from all scale skin people.

"Treasure the little moment, eh? That day will never happen to us, right? Tama?"

She took a piece of seaba.s.s meat into her mouth.

As soon as the fish meat touched Misha's tongue and she started chewing it, the system gave her a prompt message.

Misha blinked and stared at the messy fish meat on her hands.

*Nom-Nom!* (Too delis.h.!.+ Nom-Nom!)

There was a change in Tama as well, but it did not show in the game menu. The yellow tentacles of Tama became more l.u.s.trous which they shone and reflected the artificial light from the base ceiling.

Misha took a piece of tuna steak and ate it to see its effect.

Misha was in shock. She did not know that eating these fishes would gain this many benefits.

*Nom-Nom Mew!*

*Nom-Nom Meaw!*

"Nom-Nom-Nom!"

Tama, Mana, and Manee devoured their portion as if they had been starving for years. Only Misha stared at the system message without moving, petrified from the overwhelming shock.

When she came back to her sense, the three of them almost finished their share.

'At this rate, Tama will steal my food again. I have to eat everything now!'

Misha stopped savoring the flavor and shoved everything she had into her mouth.

*MEW!* (Leave some for me!)

"Never!"

The fast eating contest continued.

In the end, Misha managed to eat 100 pieces of tuna. Unfortunately, she could not eat all of her seaba.s.ses and tuna steaks as her hunger gauge was full.

As usual, Tama stole all of her food and ate all of them, including its portion. Sometimes, Misha wondered where all the food went since Tama had never ejected any waste from its body.

'Greedy cat!'

While Misha was praying for the man, Mana tugged the orange clothes.

"Sister, are you rich?"

"Err, no. I'm very poor, actually. Why do you ask? Do you want more jellies?"

"That kind of tuna is selling in the market for 50 yellow gels at the lowest. Did you buy it?"

Misha coughed and almost vomited out all food that she ate.
