It did not occur to her that watching Rhys make medicine and do his work would interest her. Due to her sudden illness, it led to them having to stay. Allen still had work here so it worked out perfectly. Initially he was going to send her back and then return here. But now he does not have to do that. It worked out in the end.
'Lyn I am leaving you in that mans care, but if you need anything use your magic to call me over.'
Her sweat fell when she recalled those words. Does Allen truly think Rhys is dangerous? Sure Lyn could not deny those words. But he isn't that bad, at least she knew he would not try anything when she is sick. After he treated her, he did not
do anything else to her. It surprised Lyn when he pulled away, normally he would do something. When it came to matters regarding Rhys, she could not talk about it with anybody other than Master Ralph.
The last piece of advice he gave her was something Lyn could not do. She can't accept his feelings just because another person told her to do so. Besides, it's not like she did not try before. She already tried to confess before but he cut her off. If he did not do that then it would have been a problem. He did it for her own good but it still felt strange.
Lyn wrapped the blanket around her and weakly stood up. She walked over to where Rhys was and sat down beside him. She rested her head on his shoulder.
"You okay, Lyn?"
"Very tired. But it is hard to sleep in this place."
"You should have asked Prince Allen to send you back to the palace."
Lyn shook her head. It would mean leaving Rhys behind here.
It turns out Allen is not the only one who has work here but Rhys too. It was not a c? "Rhys, where were you the past week?"
"I had to see a friend."
A friend? She repeated those words in her head dumbfounded. Rhys has friends? Sure when they first met, she ran into a group of friends of his. But other than that time she seldom saw him with other people. Both Rhys and Kazuya are the lone wolf types, they dont have many friends. She does not see Kazuya speak much with the people who came with him, other than f.u.kami. Rhys talks to people easily but his gaze is elsewhere.
"Was it a girl?"
"A cute girl, yes."
At that comment Lyn frowned. This was the first time Rhys admitted to seeing other girls, but its not like she did not know about it.
So thats why he disappeared for a week. He spent the week with that girl, what were they doing?
When a man and woman spend the week together, is it not obvious what happens? Lyn sighed at the thought. It is a good thing she did not say anything other than this. Right now she s acting jealous. Acting jealous is far too sly of her, how could she do that?
Lyn simply nodded. "I see."
A comforting silence fills the air for a moment when the doors suddenly opened. Her eyes widened when she saw Kazuya. "Ah.."
"Rhys, you have to--" Kazuya paused when he saw her.
For a moment he did not say anything when they hear the sound of rus.h.i.+ng footsteps approaching. Rhys moved her asie and stood up. "Kazuya, hide over there." He pointed to behind the bookshelf.
"Lyn, go back to the bed."
Lyn immediately understood what he was trying to do and walked over to the bed. She quickly adjusted her clothing and loosened it so her shoulders were exposed. The room turned dark since Rhys closed the curtains, he quickly lit up a single candle. After he did this, he joined her on the bed and wrappd his arms around her waist.
"Work with me on this, okay?"
She nodded.
By the time the footsteps stopped. Lyn felt her body burn up due to the pleasure she felt from Rhys kissing her neck. It felt weird and she wanted him to quit teasing her. Kazuya is in the room, this act is so shameful. She does not want him to see this.
The doors opened again and a man with platinum blonde hair stepped forward. She recognized him as one of the people she saw speaking to Allen the other day.
She felt Rhys fingers intrude in her mouth causing her to make ambiguous sounds. "Did you need something?" Rhys called out. His voice was hoa.r.s.e, and sweat clung to his skin.
"Uh…" Stephen looked very embarra.s.sed but quickly composed himself. "Apologies for disturbing you Prince Rhys and Princess Lyn, but did you see your companion?"
"Which one?"
"The one they call the flash."
"That guy? I haven't seen him in awhile. " Rhys replied.
"Mmm…"
Rhys chuckled. "Calm down sweetheart, people are watching." He removed his fingers. Traces of saliva remained on her lips and her eyes watered still. It left her with a very alluring look. The other soldiers who were in the room were very embarra.s.sed.
Lyn too wanted to crawl into a hole somewhere and hide.
Even if it was for a cover, it was still very embarra.s.sing. She could imagine the rumors after this. All her efforts last night to make a good impression is wasted now. That calm and elegant image she went for will now be destroyed. What strange things will they say? Lyn was very worried but what could she do about it.
After some parting words, the group of soldiers left. But Lyn could not miss how Stephen looked at the bookshelf with a frown.
It is easy to trick a group of soldiers but not the commander. He most-likely knows that Kazuya is there and yet he is leaving without saying anything. What a peculiar person…
Once the group left, Rhys wrapped his cloak around her. "Go back to sleep Lyn."
She shook her head. "I want to know too."
It would not be fair of him to go off and speak to Kazuya alone. She also wants to be updated on the news.
....
Lyn understood why Rhys told her to return to sleep now. It was indeed awkward facing Kazuya after what happened just there. Rhys however did not seem bothered like usual and calmly smoked. "So," Rhys drawled. "What did you do to make them chase you?"
Kazuya grinned and pulled something out of his bag. "Tada, my latest finding."
Rhys eyes twitched in annoyance. "You stole something again? Keep your hands of things for one moment will you."
Lyn sighed as Rhys continued his lecture. Normally she would say something too, but she can't now. Her gaze fell on the so-called latest find and her eyes widened. Isn't this one of the Mist Kingdom treasures?
