Not telling him I love you, but finding another means to tie him to me.'
Lyn felt terrible after saying those words but she knew she did not want to take them back either. Lyn wondered since when did this start? Since when did everything become so complicated? No, it is not like things became complicated. From the very moment she met these two again, it was doomed to fail, her idea of a normal life. But Lyn did not mind that at all.
Her gaze fell on Rhys who kept placing light kisses on her neck line. This person actually treats her quite well minus the whole s.e.xual hara.s.sment factor.
"Mmm."
Rhys hands stopped at the small slit down her dress. "Stop?"
"A little is fine." She ignored the voice in her head that told her that she was crazy. The voice that told her not to lose control. She could hear an imaginary chime ringing.
After she said those words, she watched as his expression darkened slightly. She knew it was dangerous to provoke him like this but Lyn did not care, right now she liked the feeling of his hands on her legs.
"Lyn." Rhys growled. "Don't make that noise in public."
While not many people were in the area where they stood, this was still a public place. Lyn became painfully aware what this would look like to other people. But that still didnt make her push him away. So when he kissed her forcibly, Lyn is not surprised.
Right at that moment the kid turned around. "P-evets."
Her sweat fell when she heard that comment. Uh, why on earth does such a young child know what that word means?
"No. But we are a couple." Rhys held up their intertwined hands for the child to see.
Lyn felt very embarra.s.sed by this and tried to yank his hand away. But unfortunately she could not muster any strength.
The child nodded. "Like my ma and pa."
Uh this is awkward, she ought to change the topic quickly otherwise she would go crazy. Then again this is already driving her insane.
It would be easier if we knew his name.."Ah, right that should work. "Hey what's your name?" Lyn asked.
"I"
...just a single letter?
"Sa."
"Sa?" Rhys repeated.
"Kree."the kid said and pointed at a random direction. The two of them turned to look at what it was and saw an ice lolly stand.
Her eyes twitch in annoyance. "Hold on a second Isakree..Wait you mean...j?"
The kid nodded happily and Lyn sighed. Rhys lets go of her. "Wait here."
…...
Once Rhys finished lining up, he gave it to the kid whose face changed into bliss instantly. "And we ended up buying it for him." Lyn does not understand why Rhys did something like that.
"Now now. He seems so much happier."
Well that's true. She supposed the whole giving kids sweets to shut them up really does work. She tugs on the sleeve of his top. "Maybe we should have halved that. You know the pay for the--" Rhys brushed his fingers across her lips.
A gorgeous smile graced on "Don't worry it's only ice. It barely cost me anything."
Huh is that so? Then she supposed it was alright. Still, it is rare for him to smile like this.
Despite what he said earlier, maybe he is happy with this situation after all?
But he doesn't say that line huh?
"-canda."
Lyn turned and saw the vibrant pink stall of cotton candy.
Rhys sweat dropped. "Uh...right..."
For cotton candy that's quite the price. She turned to him, yet he shook his head and immediately took out his wallet.
Is he really okay for paying for that?
But really kids these days can sure eat a lot. He just finished his ice cream too and now he wants more food? To their surprise the child points to another food stand. The food aside, the next target we're toys.
"Wait how come he can say…" Lyn didn't even know what to say anymore.
In the end she found herself walking with the kid who is in the middle. Carrying what looked like a bag of toys and cotton candy in his free hand. A sulking grey aura around the red haired boy who was looking at his wallet in despair. "I just got paid too.I.. If we don't find his mother and father soon. My wallet will be out of luck."
s.h.i.+ro spoke up, "That's what you get for acting like a gentleman."
At that comment she hits the white kitsune,
"Ite, Lyn-sama.. Surely that wasn't needed."
She watched him sulking and she guessed. "Rhys, are you sure I don't have to pay for anything?" Lyn asked. She didn't understand why he paid for it. Act like a gentleman? Why would Rhys bother with something like that for?
He shook his head. "I'm sure after all your mo---" He paused causing her to blink. Was he about to say something just now? "Anyhow you have to admit this would be easier if the kid would stop crying for every single thing."
Her sweat dropped. "Yeah this technique of getting your way reminds me of something…"
'Where have I seen this before.'
"We really do need to find them soon. But if it's just us two alone then it may not be possible. Especially with all these people around." Lyn said. They can't possibly stay with this child for a long time.
For now n.o.body recognizes Rhys, but she stood out a lot. Rhys helped her put on a disguise earlier. But she knew this could only last so long. Her thoughts broke off when she felt Rhys squeeze her hands. "Rhys?"
"I am here."
Just three words and she immediately understood. He is trying to rea.s.sure her not to worry, that he is here and even if something happened he would protect her. Lyn has always felt conflicted whenever she heard the words protect. She felt conflicted because she saw being protected as something that exposed her weakness.
Only weak people end up having protection.
