True to what James had read about the mech station, the robots that had been created for the Knight's combined, creating a large, 30-foot-tall humanoid mech. To their credit as well, though James wasn't certain if it was a game mechanic, or they were just somehow that used to playing games together, they piloted their new, single mech quite well.
Without skipping a beat, the moment it was formed, they drew forth a large sword, and turned towards the candy dragon. A moment later, they were in the air, flying recklessly straight towards the candy beast.
"Well, there goes that threat." James mumbled. As much as he wanted to watch the epic mech versus candy dragon fight, he still had other things to deal with. Mainly, the fact that movement around BLANK was catching his eye, as the form standing beside The Candy King made a gesture, as if commanding additional forces forward.
James couldn't see the units moving through the trees on their way towards James area, but he could see as a ma.s.sive Gummy Bear, standing taller than even the Candied King, began making its way forward. Its entire body was made from Gummy Bear, and the sunlight pa.s.sed through its translucent green body. Its eyes seemed to flash with hate and an intent to kill, as it let out a terrifying, strange, roar. Then, it began its advance.
To make matters worse, as the ginormous gummy bear, which James was guessing was the mysterious third floor boss James had heard mentioned briefly before, he saw a rabbit, perhaps ten feet in height, hop past The Candied King and into the woods. It moved extremely quickly, but James was certain he saw it carrying a wicker basket, and it was apparently wearing a bowtie… Or at least… that's what James thought he saw.
"I'm coming." Rue purred in his ear. James whipped his head towards her, just in time to watch the fairy's body disappear.
Rejoice Players: The White Beast of Chaos has been summoned.
At James's side, Rue's ma.s.sive white tiger beastkin avatar appeared. Players let out screams of terror and confusion, quickly scrambling away as her form solidified. James had seen her avatar before, when they were testing their desired forms out in the practice area. However, standing next to her now, on the fields of chaos, she seemed even more terrifying and glorious.
She stood equal height with James, though her bulky steampunk dinosaur armor, which covered much of her muscled, white furred body, made her form seem even more imposing. Add onto that the gigantic steampunk battle axe she had selected as her preferred weapon, which was crafted from a Steamosaurus's chain blades that extended in its Schneider form. The ma.s.sive weapon was covered in various plates of metal, giving it a ma.s.sive amount of heft. The double heads of the weapon were composed of the chain blades, and as Rue let out a wild, beastlike roar, she activated the weapon. The chain blades both roared to life as black steam erupted from the head of the weapon. Rue was ready.
"Are you ready for battle?" She growled besides James, her eyes laser focused on the approaching enemy, the ma.s.sive gummy bear. It was a third-floor boss, and considering BLANK was a Tier 3 Rank 8 dungeon, the boss was level 47. James, and Rue, on the other hand, were only level 25. On the other hand, they were Avatars, with a cost of 5k essence each, while the third-floor boss only cost 2.5k essence. James was guessing Avatars got a larger stat boost than the world bosses and floor bosses did. Meaning perhaps Rue and he could take on the Gummy Bear. Plus, James knew if they took on the enemy boss, they weren't going to do it alone. They had all of their players, all ready to follow the Avatar's into battle.

"Just give me about another 30 seconds." James mumbled back to Rue. He had 23 of his 25 summoner points back. However, 1 was still being used for the d.i.c.ken that was linked to Z. And James needed 23 points total free in order to summon what he was wanting to summon. He also decided, given the situation, he was going to pair his summon to Rue. If ever there was going to be an epic pairing needed, this was going to be it. Plus, he wanted Rue to stay alive as long as she could…and he didn't quite trust her to be the most, focused on self-preservation type berserker there was. After all, that kind of went counter the fighting style of a berserker.
"Fine." She growled, and turned towards a random group of adventurers. "Hurry up and Summon the Jenkins! Then, we shall feast on our enemies!" Adventurers all around them cheered. Or at least, James was pretty sure they cheered. The chaos flowing around them, the countless sounds of battle, the explosions, roars both mechanical and b.e.s.t.i.a.l, and the tremors of the shaking earth from the approaching Gummy Bear, all kind of made it hard for James to focus. It was complete and utter chaos.
"Those of you with essence remaining, summon your d.i.c.kens! Prepare to charge! The moment of glory is nearly upon us!" Rue let out another roar, as players rushed about. James winced as more and more d.i.c.kens began appearing across the battlefield. The summoning of them seemed a tad reckless and wasteful. Especially considering they weren't sure how much essence they would be able to gain back in the upcoming fight.
James shook his head as the thought crossed his mind. Those were rational, careful gamer thoughts. James needed to embrace the chaos. He needed to embrace the unexpected. Afterall, he needed to at least respect the claims Xander had made about BLANK, and the claims BLANK made about themselves. If they were really as good as they claimed, rational thoughts and behavior wouldn't bring them down. Instead, he needed chaos.
"Oh dearie me. Do you see this mister Jenkins?" An elderly voice came from the chaos, as Grandma Jenkins appeared. At her side, Old Man Jenkins came into being as well. The players were even faster to listen to Rue's commands, than they had been of James. Then again, his AI did always seem to be rather good about ordering people about. She could be extremely bossy at times.
"I, must lead my farm, my flock, to their aid." Old Man Jenkins's voice crackled and fluctuated, causing his voice to take on a demonic tone. However, James saw the farmer's eyes soften for a moment as he looked at Grandma Jenkins. The Ais for his bosses, after all, had been filled in on their story they were meant to live up to. "Shall we…clean up this mess? As we always did Leeroy's?"
Grandma Jenkins smiled warmly back at him, and nodded as she placed a warm hand upon the demonic farmer's face. "It's your fault Leeroy turned out like he did, you old codger."
James grinned at the exchange, and then grinned even more as his eyes glanced upward, pulling down his quick menu and showing his stats. His Summoner points had just ticked once again. He now had 1/24 (25*). He could finally summon what he wanted to. They could finally kick off their counterattack.
