The street was quiet. There were trees on both sides of it, their leaves slightly yellow with decay. Occasionally, a couple of pedestrians would cross the road. They would glance at the luxurious car parked on one side but quickly lost interest and walk away.
Just opposite to where they parked was the best aristocratic kindergarten in G City.
The children admitted here belonged to high society. People in the locality had become accustomed to seeing various luxury cars throughout the day. Yet such an expensive car was never seen in that area. There were only a hundred such cars in the world, and less than ten in China. And in G city? There was only one.
The one in front of them.
Gu Yubai glanced at his watch. He looked at the closed kindergarten gate.
The information Qin Yue gave him in the morning was beyond his expectations.
“Gu Shao, Miss Lin Meng returned to Ouyang home six months ago. She brought a three years old child with her. But Ouyang Jun pa.s.sed away three years ago. It is rumoured that he provoked someone in the underworld and they murdered him. The child is the heir. Ouyang's father met Ms. Lin Meng six months ago. He saw her alone with the child so he took her back home.
Gu Yubai exhales a ring of smoke. He closed his eyes. The memories flooded back to him… her smile, her anger, the cute gestures, and the occasional pampering…
The scenes flashed before his eyes like a movie.
Someone had advised him: 'Don't force yourself to forget someone. With time you will naturally forget the person.'
Gu had not thought of her even for a moment in the past five years. Even the thought of her had brought him pain, a pain so deep that he could feel it in his bones.
Love is ironic, not remembering doesn't mean you have forgotten.
He had thought that a chance for them to meet again would not come in this life. She had been so eager to follow another man; she had rushed to find the happiness in her heart. His best friend and beloved woman had betrayed him for their love—their ridiculous love!
However, it turned out that it was not enough to simply love.
Gu Yubai himself had no idea how he felt towards either of them. It had been many years. He had forgotten the feeling.
He thought that he could treat her return nonchalantly and continue with his life.
But when he drove the car there, he realized that he had never forgotten.
