Keira looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing an outfit, specially made for her by Monique.

Today, she chose to wear a cla.s.sic pastel pink-colored skirt suit, which she partnered with a sharp-looking blazer and her stiletto shoes.

She smiled, it's a calculated smile indicating a mixture of excitement and confidence at the same time.

Zach dropped her off to her work.

Keira looked for a while at Zach, she wanted to say something but hesitated.

"Good luck, have a great day. Tell me once you're done and I'll pick you up," said Zach with a lovely smile.

Keira answered him with a sounding peck on his lips.

"Thanks, General. I'll go now," she whispered and winked before she stepped out of his car.

She held the ID she was wearing that served also as an entry pa.s.s.

They would all need to gather at the conference room first for an orientation and introduction.

Keira entered the elevator since this was also the same building where she had her interns.h.i.+p, most of the people already knew her.

"h.e.l.lo, Keira, welcome back!" everyone she pa.s.sed by greeted her and as usual, Keira gave them her natural smile and replied, "Thank you. It's nice to see you again, Senior."

Yes, they were all her Seniors since she was a newbie…

She was going to meet other juniors like her in the conference room. She hoped to see familiar faces that she had trained with during her interns.h.i.+p.

Keira greeted everyone inside the conference room and sat with the other new reporters.

"Hi, I am Luke," said a reporter beside her with a smile and offered his hand for a handshake,

"Hi, I'm Keira," she answered as she accepted his hand.

"h.e.l.lo, I'm Jazz," said a woman sitting on her right. Keira smiled and said, "Hi, nice to meet you Keira here."

"You're so beautiful," Jazz mumbled hastily that made Keira chuckle.

"Thank you and you are pretty too," she complimented with sincerity because she found Jazz cute too.

The introduction began, Chairman Cooper made a small speech as he welcomed all the new recruits for the News Department.

Seniors had introduced themselves, from the News Directors of Morning, Noon and Evening News.

Keira smiled widely at Mr. Holmes who was handling the primetime news, the block of broadcast programming and was also working with major television networks to broadcast their season's nightly programming: The best time that gained the highest ratings.

Anyway, Keira's target was the main anchor…

The other members of the News Department were introduced like the Producers, a.s.sistant Producers, a.s.signment Editors, Writers, Videographers, etc.

That time, Thea Jones was called and everybody in the room excitedly applauded because Thea was a well-known international anchor reporter.

Thea was asked to give a simple greeting to everyone as she was like a celebrity for the News Team, except for Keira of course. Because for Keira, she was the woman who had hurt her General.

She had nothing against Thea as long as she didn't do anything bad to Zach again. To be honest, she was grateful to Thea because if not for her breaking up with Zach, she wouldn't probably have the chance with her General.

Thea gave everyone a big, warm smile as she said her greetings.

"Thank you so much for having me here. It's truly an honor to be a part of this network. I will give my best and work hard. Please, take good care of me," said Thea followed by a bow to everyone.

A round of loud applause was given to her.

"Wow, she's pretty… So pretty in person!" commented Jazz as her eyes were full of admiration, as she added, "She's my idol…"

"Nah, I say Keira here is the most beautiful of all," Luke commented that made Keira laugh.

"Yeah, you are right, Luke," seconded Jazz with a wink at Keira.

"Hopefully, we can achieve more, like Thea," Jazz added.

The Cooper News Team had new faces that would cover the news as reporters and Keira was one of them.

They were all called one by one at the stage and introduced by Mr. Holmes, including the Sports Editors/Anchors and Meteorologists.

"They are chosen by our panel of judges from the hundred, and they all agreed that these ten are the best among all the applicants. On behalf of the news team, we all welcome you, guys, and we hope to see you all in action!" said Mr. Holmes followed by a wink.

Keira smiled and her beauty was very distinguishable as it radiated the whole conference room.

Keira did not mind the crowd at all, only the glare of a particular person, who was sitting at the front. She could see her clearly from the stage.

'Looks like she's here for trouble,' Keira mused. 

Because she could have already been dead for all she cared with Thea's glare at her. She felt like her eyes were shooting arrows directly at her spot.

Before going down the stage, Keira answered that glare with her beautiful mischievous smile saying, "Bring it on!"

Looked like Thea had done her a.s.signment well, just like her. 

The lurking Thea was doing outside Zach's building for several days was intentional. Even the bidding for Zach that took place previously at the bar. It had come to her knowledge that Thea was the second-highest bidder at that time. She knew all of these details, thanks to John's reliable and scrutinized reports.

Keira let out a long sigh. She still hoped that war wouldn't happen, but with Thea's glare, she seriously doubted it...
