The Writer's Romance 67 Will You Hate Him?

"Clark, are you sure you'll walk me home? As in walk?" Sheen asks with a worried look on her face as Clark locks his office.

"Yes, I will walk with you, as in walk. Is there something wrong with that?" Clark asks.

It's past 9 P.M. and he purposely made Sheen wait for him to avoid her from watching the press conference of the director.

He knows exactly how she will feel if she knew that Allegra's just toying with her.

"Oh, okay. It's just I never seen you walk from here to the condominium and it's 30 minutes walk, Clark. Are you not going to get tired?"

They are standing in front of the elevator, waiting for it to go up.

"Are you saying that I am weak, Sheen?" Clark asks while raising his eyebrow at Sheen.

"No..." Sheen looks up at him with an apologetic smile, "Anyway, I'm glad that you want to walk with me. We'll get to spend time together," she said blus.h.i.+ng.

Clark looks at her, it seems like she forgot about the scandal and he intends to keep it that way.

"By the way, where's Cj? Are you sure you can leave him alone for a long time?" Sheen asks as they enter the elevator, "Should you call his nanny?"

"No. He's fine. He already ate on the way home and he might be sleeping now. I asked Mr. Rogers to stay with him until I got home," Clark answered and pressed the b.u.t.ton.

They were quiet for a while until Sheen can't hold back her happiness anymore and took Clark's hand and held it tightly.

Her chest began to feel thunderous as her smiles break free.

Clark clears his throat to relax his face from trying to hide the tension forming in his lips from denying the smile.

They did not look at each other until they got to go out, "Oh, we're here," Sheen got surprised and is about to let Clark go but he just held her tightly, not letting her to take her hand away.

"Hey, they'll see us!" Sheen whispered as she tries to pull her hand away.

But Clark just keeps his calm face and put his and Sheen's hand on the pocket of his coat and started walking.

The guards and other employee looks at them but it seems like it's not a big deal.

Sheen blushes as they walk towards the exit, "You're embarra.s.sing," Sheen whispered.

"Am I?" Clark stops and pulls Sheen's other hand and the next thing he did is to press his lips against her.

She just stands frozen with Clark in front of her as she felt her face heat up and her heart raced faster than ever.

'This is the second time!' She thought as her eyes meet Clark's emerald eyes.

He looks victorious as he moves away from her, "Now, that is embarra.s.sing both of us," he said and started walking, dragging frozen Sheen with him.

"What was that? In front of your employees?" Sheen ranted as she walks faster to follow Clark's pace.

"Yes, in front of the people I pay to work for me not to gossip about me," Clark answered as the cross the street.

Sheen sighs, but she can still feel her heart's beating fast.

"Do you know any good restaurants around here?" Clark suddenly asks while they walk in the street with other busy people who seem to be tired and on their way home as well.

Sheen can't help but notice ladies glancing at Clark.

He really catches attention.

Sheen felt proud as she is walking with her handsome fiance but whenever the ladies look at her and giggle, she felt insecure.

Clark notices this and leans to kiss her cheeks to slap to the ladies face that Sheen's beautiful and he loves her.

Sheen looks away after the kiss as she blushes.

"So, do you know any restaurants?" Clark asks with a slight smirk on his face as he looks around.

"Y-yeah... It's not that expensive but the food is really good!" Sheen nervously replies, 'If you won't stop teasing me, I'll die from a heart attack!' she thought.

"I see. If you like it then, let's have dinner together," Clark replied.

He noticed that some men are staring at Sheen making him tighten his grip in Sheen's hand which made her look at him.

"Is something wrong?" she asks.

Clark stares at her, 'Can't you see men are staring at you?' he thought.

Sheen looks at him confused, 'Why is he making such an irritated face?' she thought but she just smiled sweetly at him.

The moment Clark saw her pretty curved lips, he looks at the guys with a proud face as if he's screaming: "This lady's mine!"

"It's here," Sheen said as she points to a small restaurant on their right side.

Clark stares at it, it's the same place where Kira told him about her being pregnant.

His face suddenly went serious, making Sheen feel worried.

"If you don't want to eat there, then, let's find another place," Sheen said while staring at Clark.

He shakes his head, "It's fine, it's fine..."

He started walking towards the restaurant while Sheen just follows with a frown, "You don't have to force yourself, Clark."

"What do you want to have?" Clark asks as he pulls the chair to let Sheen sit.

"Are you sure?" Sheen asks as she sits down.

"Yes, don't worry. I'll have what you'll have," Clark answers as he sits down, "I just remembered something."

Sheen takes the menu on the table, "Then, we'll have chicken fried steak and iced tea," she said to the waiter who's standing beside them.

He takes down the note and repeated what Sheen ordered.

"Do you want anything else?" Sheen asks before the waiter leaves.

Clark shakes his head.

"Okay, that's all," Sheen smiled at the waiter, "What did you remember?" she asks Clark.

Clark looks at her, shocked, he thought she'll brush it off, but here she is, asking. "That I left my precious ballpen in my office," he excused even though it is in his bag.

"Oh, is that so? Do you want to buy a new one? There's a shop nearby," Sheen said.

Clark chuckles. Sheen always seems like she's someone you can't fool but she trusts too much.

Which made him feel bad again.

He shakes his head, "No, I have a pen in my room. Let's just eat."

After a while, their orders arrived and they both started eating.

They were both talking about Cj until they heard the television in front of them.

It's on the channel that shows the press conference.

Sheen froze as she stares at the television.

Clark panics, he's trying to stay away from this but here they are, eating in front of the television.

He wasn't able to notice it when they entered as he is preoccupied with something else.

"We are showing you the messages that the director and Miss Allegra Guandemo had. After the director sent the photos, Miss Allegra replied: "Got it, just make sure you ruin that writer."

Sheen suddenly felt her throat dry, she took a sip of water and stands up.

"I'll go to the comfort room for a while," she said, avoiding Clark's gaze.

As she walks away, Clark received a call from Mr. Rogers.

"Yes?" Clark answered while ma.s.saging his head in annoyance.

"Mr. White, the bartender called. He's asking for a huge amount of money. He said if you won't give it to him, he'll speak."

Clark groans, "Just give him what he wants. I'll talk to him tomorrow. What about Allegra?"

"She'll be charged defamation and adultery, Sir."

"Okay. How's Cj?"

"He's asleep."

"I see. I'll be there before 11 P.M."

Clark ended the call as he stares at the television bitterly.

Sheen stares at her reflection in the mirror as she tries to calm herself.

The moment she heard it's Allegra who did that, she felt coldness run through her body as her hand began trembling.

"Why?" She whispered.

She takes in a deep breath, "Okay. I'll ask," she said and took her phone.

"Aria, is Allegra with you?" Sheen asks on the phone.

"Yes, she is in her room and if you want to talk to her, better not. She's been screaming at everyone."

"I just want to know why she did it," Sheen enters a cubicle and tune down her voice.

"We talked to her earlier, she said she's just jealous of you and she wants to have Clark."

"Oh, yeah. Of course," Sheen sighs.

"Well, don't worry, she'll have to face the consequence of what she did. Luke won't let her go, he won't tolerate this kind of thing."

"I see. Thank you, big sis."

"No worries. Oh, where's Clark?"

"We're eating outside. He wants to walk me home," Sheen giggles while thinking that but she suddenly felt surprised, "This is our first date!"

"Really? Oh my goodness, I'm so happy for you! But..." Aria suddenly went silent for a while.

"What is it?" Sheen asks worriedly.

"What if Clark's doing something you hate?"

"Hate? I only hate lies and manipulation."

"What if he's both?"

Sheen creased her forehead, "Where is this coming from?"

"Nothing, since you said it's your first date and you know, if you're not engaged, you should be getting to know each other," Aria giggles, "Don't take it seriously. Anyway, good night, Sheen."

"Good night, Aria," Sheen said seriously then she hangs up.

"What was that?" Sheen looks at her phone confused.

She went back to the table with a fake smile.

Clark, as he always is, saw that something went wrong, "What happened?" he asks.

Sheen continues to eat and shakes her head, "Nothing, why?"

Clark takes a sip of his iced tea while looking at Sheen, "Nothing. Anyway, do you want to stop by somewhere?"

Sheen tries to keep her calm while thinking that it's their first date.

Clark doesn't seem to realize that yet which makes her feel more nervous.

"What about... let's have a walk in the park?" Sheen beams a smile to Clark.

"Okay," Clark nods, "Then let's stop by the park real quick," he said as he finishes eating.

The warm breeze and silent park make Sheen close her eyes as they walk around.

Her hand is still in Clark's pocket while he holds it tightly.

'Aria's weird, Clark will never lie nor manipulate people,' she thought as she stares at Clark.

He still looks so far away from her.

Out of her reach.

Out of her league.

His broad shoulder and strong arms, his breathtaking jaw and dazzling eyes, he's totally not fitted for her.

She suddenly let out a sigh, catching Clark's attention.

"What is it?" Clark asks as he slows down to sit on a bench.

"Nothing, I am just... uh, full," she sweatdrops as they sit down.

"Are you over thinking again?" Clark asks while looking at her seriously, "I can feel it."

Sheen sighs once again, it's Clark and he can feel what she feels.

"Yeah, I was," she surrendered, "I'm just thinking that you're way too good for me."

Clark snorted, "Why again?"

"Because! You're just perfect while I'm a mess!" Sheen yelled out since no one is around while pointing at herself.

Clark stares at her, "A beautiful mess," he said and smiled at her calmly.

She looks away with a blush, "That's cheesy," she said and tries to suppress her smile.

Yet, his hand suddenly reached out to her face and pulls her close to kiss her.

She can't help but smile as his lips touch hers.

So soft.

So warm.

So loving.

Slowly, he kissed her pa.s.sionately which caught her off guard, making her mind go blank as it fills every beat of her heart with excitement.

'I'll never hate him,' she thought as she keeps up with his pace while her hands go up to his hair.

They push each other away when they both ran out of breath with a smile on their face.

Sheen gives him a quick peck with her red face, "I love you," she whispered.

Clark kissed her cheeks, "I love you more," he whispered back.
