Collic searched the entire bottom of the lake over and over again, without missing any details, but could not find any traces of Steve.
"Impossible! How could he have vanished?" Collic's face was sullen. "Even if he had a device that s.h.i.+elded his life characteristics, he still wouldn't be able to escape the energy sensor! Also, traces of his blood and the remains of his weapon are still here, so he must still be in the lake."
Collic did not want to give up, so the demon activated the residue energy scanner once again. As it did so, a hazy image of residual energy, which had most likely been left behind by Steve, appeared in front of it.
Anything that had been used would leave behind some residual energy, no matter how weak it was. In fact, even something as mundane as breathing would leave behind residual energy.
Following the trail left behind by the remaining traces of residual energy, Collic walked to the deeper parts of the lake. Finally, he reached a cliff at the bottom of a waterfall, where the energy disappeared inside the rock wall.
"The residual energy disappears here," Collic said, while pointing.
Right then, Steve was looking at Collic on the other side through the cliff, as if they were separated by a transparent liquid mirror. As such, he could observe the situation outside, but Collic was unable to see Steve on the inside.
Steve was so nervous, he had even stopped breathing! He looked at Collic, not daring to move. After all, he was fearful of being discovered.
"The darn thief disappeared here! Did he hide inside the wall?" Collic scowled fiercely, then punched the wall all of a sudden.
Bang!
Upon the demon's fist's impact, the cliff exploded, cracked, and collapsed. Countless broken pieces of stone then splashed down into the water, and the whole cliff swayed violently, sinking into a huge pit.
Steve, who was still hiding inside, was shocked. However, he suddenly realized that, although the stone outside had been broken, the s.p.a.ce inside had remained unchanged. As such, they were still separated by a transparent mirror! Even the distance had remained unchanged.
"We're in different dimensions!" Steve exclaimed to himself in shock, sobering up instantly. He then continued murmuring to himself, "This is another dimension. The mirror's just a screen. You can see what's going on outside."
Steve reached out and touched the mirror in front of him. He saw it magnify with his touch, closing the distance with Collic! Steve then shortened the distance with his mind, until Collic's face occupied the whole screen.
"Indeed, this is just a screen. I was sent to another dimension as soon as I entered!" Steve said.
Right then, with a change of his mind, the picture changed dramatically, too. The image now showed the waterfall outside. Water was still rus.h.i.+ng down from the huge waterfall, and the lake had sagged hundreds of meters, but was now rising again slowly.
"There's a very powerful demonic energy in front of us. It must be Collic!" a voice was heard just then, as ten humans could be seen appearing at the top of the waterfall, riding the fastest ejector!

"It's the human evolved beings, they're finally here!" Upon seeing that group of people, Steve could not keep from shouting in excitement, "I'm here!" Come and save me!"
Unfortunately, the group outside didn't notice Steve calling for help, and the instruments in their hands locked onto the lake in an instant. Seeing this, Steve was shocked and sobered up immediately. He was now in a different dimension, so they were obviously unable to see him.
What do I do now? Steve wondered.
Even though the screen in front of him could change the scene being portrayed according to his thoughts, it could not transport him out. In other words, he was trapped!
At the same time, Collic, who was at the bottom of the lake, had also felt the ten powerful sources of level-one evolved beings' energies emanating from outside the lake.

The pa.s.sage reached all the way inside, but he was unsure as to where it would lead. Regardless, other than going deeper inside, Steve saw no other way out.

At that moment, not long after Collic had left, the s.p.a.ce above the huge lake suddenly split open, a beautiful woman emerging from it. This beautiful woman's clothes were very ordinary.
In fact, she was dressed like a normal housewife. She was even holding a kitchen knife in her hand! But, her appearance was still amazing. Even though she wasn't wearing any makeup-less, she exuded a tempting and mature charm, her every move filled with natural appeal.
Her eyes were as beautiful as the night sky, and she had a sharp chin and a dainty face. She was like a fairy, who could touch the hearts of all.
Her exquisite figure was also full of curves, especially her big and perky b.u.t.t! Young girls would not be able to compete with such a huge and charming temptation! Simply her appearance, her exquisite figure, and her charming temperament would be enough to cause most people to be unable to restrain themselves.
"The Star of Hope's energy has clearly appeared here. Why did it suddenly disappear?" The beautiful woman asked, a frown appearing on her face.

She could clearly see Steve being chased, then saw that he had fled into the lake. She then watched the seven-colored egg on Steve's neck light up.
"That's it! The Star of Hope! So, it's with the fellow!" The beautiful woman was excited. However, just as the seven-colored egg lit up and its light wrapped around Steve, he disappeared without a trace!
"He disappeared? Where did he go?" The beautiful woman's face changed.

"He should be nearby, so how is it that I cannot find him?" The beautiful woman looked pale.
It was understandable for Collic to be unable to find Steve. However, with her strength, she should be able to find this little fellow, who was not even an original being!

At this point, Steve realized that there were some pictures on the walls around him. The creatures in the pictures were similar to human beings.
Some battle pictures were included. Within these, when the creatures would enter battle mode, a golden eye would appear on their foreheads. Then, from these golden eyes, attacks would issue forth!
Also, the creatures in the pictures could control the universe, and their genetic evolutions were different from present-day humans'. These creatures, by simply lifting their hands, could raise a whole mountain range and even summon a meteor shower in the sky! As such, the pictures portrayed them fighting against all kinds of strange, dark creatures.
Steve was sure that he had never seen anything like these strange creatures before! They were very different from magical beasts.
Steve felt a strange creepy sense of evil, while he was looking at the strange creatures on the drawings. They were also different from demons, as they emitted evil and darkness from the inside out. Even if they were just pictures, Steve still felt a sense of horror filling him.
What are these things? Steve's teeth were chattering.
In the picture, the dark organisms and three-eyed beings were engaged in a battle, the scale of which was earth-shattering. Finally, the dark organisms had managed to occupy most of the regions.
But, in order to survive, the three-eyed beings made large quant.i.ties of s.p.a.ces.h.i.+ps and left their original world. This was because the mainland, where they had once lived, had been destroyed by the dark organisms and had sunk to the bottom of the sea.
The pictures on the wall portrayed a long war history, which seemed to contain many large battles. These battles stretched from the land and sea to outer s.p.a.ce, then continued on to the civilization's final defeat and escape.
