The battle sequence took over an hour to decide. Then, after the partic.i.p.ants rested for over an hour, the official battle started.

Sofia's injuries had healed completely by now. In the ring, the she and Steve were competing against each other and the ambience was tense. Both of them had waited very long for this battle.

"Steve, everything happened because of you. Today, I shall defeat you and kick you out of Lucy's world! You will never be together," Sofia said, coldly.

"Lucy is a living person. She has her own thoughts. Have you tried to understand what Lucy wants?" Steve said. "You only know how to force your own thoughts on Lucy and are never really thinking about her."

"Nonsense, I have always given the best to her!" Sofia said angrily. "It was you who ruined our relations.h.i.+p."

Steve did not wish to continue arguing with her, as Sofia's personality was too strong. She would not calm down and think things through, without first experiencing defeat at his hands.

"Looks like I can only force you to calm down by defeating you," Steve said.

"You'll defeat me?" Sofia mocked him, suddenly rus.h.i.+ng forward and disappearing, just as she neared Steve.

This was the exact same move that Lucy had used last time. Steve felt as if he had been targeted by a venomous snake, which was hiding in the dark corners, ready to rush out and give him a fatal bite!

Whoos.h.!.+

But, Steve did not back away. He rushed forward all of a sudden, then struck towards the dark corner with a punch.

Boom!

An unexpected collision ensued. Sofia had both of her arms crossed in front of her chest in an attempt to block Steve's attack.

"How did you find me?" Sofia was surprised that her concealing technique had been interrupted by Steve.

At that moment, a stinging pain came from her arm. She had been hit. Steve was stronger than she had expected!

Steve's expression was calm, as his left hand pulled out the Blade of the Spirit Hunter, its light glinting and the afterimages of the sword intertwining and blooming like flowers.

"You thought that you could defeat me, just by figuring out my concealing technique? You're too naïve." Sofia calmed down quickly, as she grasped a dagger in her left hand and a small sword in her right.

"Over there!" She locked on to the trajectory of the Blade of the Spirit Hunter in an instant, bringing her small sword up to block the attack, the dagger slas.h.i.+ng at Steve's chest.

"Dark Shadow!"

But, Steve's attacking speed increased suddenly, the psychedelic shadows of the sword forming myriad afterimages. Sofia's small sword pieced past the afterimages of the Blade of the Spirit Hunter and could not block the attack,. At this moment, the Blade of the Spirit Hunter was already slas.h.i.+ng towards Sofia.

"Why has your attack disappeared?" Sofia was shocked, she had just blocked the attack, but it had turned into an afterimage.

Seeing that the Blade of the Spirit Hunter was just in front of her, she gave up on the chance to attack and blocked Steve's attack with her dagger.

A soft sensation came from his palm. Steve's slap had landed right on Sofia's chest To make it more convenient for the battle, Sofia had put on a bodycon leather top without a bra. Hence, the sensation was very real!

"You!" Sofia felt a sharp pain coming from her chest, but mostly, she felt shame and anger from being touched in such a vulnerable spot.

"So soft." Steve's hand landed on her breast and gave it a habitual squeeze, as that supple feeling was very different from Lucy's!

"Go to he*l!" Sofia was full of shame and rage.

With her small sword in hand, she thrust it towards Steve's chest. Steve let go of Sofia's b.r.e.a.s.t.s a little reluctantly, the nails on his hand suddenly growing longer and sharper, like a sword. The sharp claws then blocked Sofia's attack.

"Beast Soul Technique!"

Sofia was even more shocked, as Steve had summoned the Beast Soul Technique!

The Beast Soul Technique is even more valuable and stronger than the fundamental technique!

After Steve used the Claw Storm Attack to block the attack, he put it away quickly, so that, other than Sofia, n.o.body else would see it. Sofia was stunned, as the methods that Steve was using were unexpected.

This new Steve before her eyes was so different from the poor and weak Steve that she had always known. This only made her want to defeat Steve even more, not thinking about the reason why.

Upon seeing that her first few counterattacks were useless, Sofia retreated hastily. She then focused on finding another chance to strike back.

Her level of cell activation was stronger than Steve's, and even though her techniques had failed to beat Steve, she was still faster and stronger than him. Therefore, if she could just find an opportunity, it was still possible to defeat Steve.

Sofia flickered a few times, her silhouette going into hiding gradually, as she was waiting for another chance to strike back. But, Steve sped up suddenly, chasing her.

Once again, Steve caught up to her and suppressed her with his techniques, his sword striking out like a python coming out of its den, swift and fierce.

"How could your speed up so fast?" Sofia's expression was one of shock, realizing that she had actually lost the advantage of speed!

In her haste, she could only defend herself pa.s.sively from Steve's attack. But, to avoid her weapons from being sliced apart by the Blade of the Spirit Hunter, she could only try to dodge the attacks.

After attempting to dodge a few times consecutively, a few more wounds appeared on Sofia's body. She had clearly been suppressed by Steve and did not have the chance to strike back at all.

"Such a fast speed! Steve's speed is actually faster than Sofia's!"

"Sofia looks as if she has been suppressed. How did he do it? Actually managing to suppress Sofia!"

"Steve's unexpectedly strong!"

"Way to go Steve!"

"Even Sofia is nomatch for him!"

"Go!"

The whole place was bubbling over with excitement, commenting on how Steve could actually suppress Sofia, forcing Sofia to defend herself pa.s.sively! Sofia had always been the strongest female recruit in the military, and a lot of men dreamed about defeating her. Even Stuart had unable to have a complete victory over Sofia, yet Steve had done it today.

Stuart's expression turned grim.

Sofia's speed and strength should be above Steve's. Yet, she was completely suppressed by Steve and completely lost the upper hand.

"Steve had such a fast speed! He had equipped himself with an accelerating weapon, and the sword in his hand was so sharp, it was able to slice through F-grade compound metals. What exactly happened to him during these last seven days?" Stuart wondered aloud.

He was shocked and confused. However, he was still confidant that he could defeat Steve.
