Mystical Encounters 2 Chapter 2

"I wanted the eternal black lotus in exchange to an orb." Irvene said. Her words sounded normal and ignored the shopkeeper's expression.

"I'm afraid you can't afford it. The eternal black lotus held high value therefore it's only exchangeable to a black orb." he said.

The frail and thin looking man already judged her. 'One weak punch and it'll be the death of you.' A thought lingered through her mind. Irvene's cold gaze met his eyes. She lifted her hands and showed him the black orb she obtained. Her lips slowly formed into a smirk.

The latter got his eyes bigger. Irvene thought that the shopkeeper hasn't laid his eyes on one until today. It is as rare as eternal black lotus hence it's worth exchanging for.

"Pardon for being rude. I'll get the eternal black lotus." he said.

After a while, she gave him the eternal black lotus in exchange for the black orb. Irvene can't stand the att.i.tude of him thus, gets out of the store and decided to go home already.

Irvene is walking in solitude when someone b.u.mped into her shoulder. She looked at her in confusion. 'What's wrong with these people?' she thought. Even if she only has a low level ability, it doesn't mean that they have the rights to bully her.

"What? You're blocking my way!" the girl said. She looked at the street. It's wide and only a few people are pa.s.sing by yet she b.u.mped into her.

'What an unreasonable logic.' she thought.

"Oh, I apologize for what happened." Irvene said. Although it's not her fault, she apologize to end her conversation with this childish girl. Her foot's left hanging on the air when the girl quickly held her arms. This woman's long nails dug her shoulders.

"You are not leaving just like that! You have to follow my commands for your wrong doings or else I'll send you to jail." she said.

Irvene almost laughed at her. This girl is so self-centered and has no manners. "Get out of my way. " she said. But the girl continued to grab her until they stopped at a store.

"You, Irvene Xu! You must be my slave as a compensation for what you have done." she said. Her face showed evil intentions. Irvene thought this girl had planned this situation and it's not surprising that this town's people knew her name.

"Let go of me or I'll burn this store of yours." she said. Her dark aura surrounded the place and that the girl who bullied her trembled in fear. She's wrong for underestimating her enemy although the girl still didn't let go of Irvene's arm.

"Don't regret your actions. You let me do this!" she said. Her mouth opened and started chanting some words. "G.o.d of Fire, let this house perish of your endless anger!" she said. The fire slowly burned the house.

The girl stood frozen from her position and her eyes widen. Her parents would abandon her if they found out that she couldn't even manage their store and having it burned will be the worst thing to happen.

She doesn't know this weakling have such strong powers. Irvene smirked and let go of her arms from the girl's grip. "Y-you, s-stop this fire or I'll call the guards and let you rot in h.e.l.l!" she shouted with fear. This girl is just an average villager in this town yet she acted in such manners.

The guard went towards their way to see what's happening. The girl told him that Irvene burned their store. "Have you gone insane? Your house looked fine and doesn't have a trace of fire." the guard told her. She looked at her store and once again, shock came across her face.

"H-how did it happen? It was burning just a moment ago." she said. She looked at Irvene and glared at her.

"Sir, it looks like she has been saying untruthful things about me. I'm a pa.s.ser by here and I don't expect to have such treatment in this town." she said. 'Let's see who'll be suffering of shame' she thought. The guard looked at her, unsure of what would be his actions and didn't know what to say. He knew the rumors about Irvene but it's none of his business.

"Miss, you know our rules here in our town. If you ever do this, you'll be fined for slandering people." the guard said with authority. Some people pa.s.sing by murmured. Her impulsive actions led to an undesirable end. The guard then, walked away after the incident.

Irvene left that forsaken place. She outsmarted the girl. A troublesome girl can't even be considered as a hindrance for her. The reason it wasn't burned up is because the fire is just an illusion she created. She wouldn't dare cause a ruckus for her peaceful life would vanish. She even couldn't control a fire but she'll learn it soon enough. She thought, encouraging herself and finally made to get out of the town after getting into trouble.

Irvene walked down the road which leads to her humble house, away from the judgmental eyes of the people. Her house is made out of wood. It is built by herself and improved it's structure with few magic spells. It's not elegant yet it has the ambiance of a home and decent enough for her to live. Her house is surrounded by trees which shades it from the heat of the sun.

She entered her house and placed the eternal black lotus on the table. Irvene rested on her couch and hugged a small pillow.

'Going to rest for a while' she thought and close her eyes. The recent incident shouldn't happen again.
