I stared at the people in front of me and readied myself to chant a spell when I heard Brother Mavien's low voice.
"Try to use all your powers even though, something is restricting you," he said.
I stopped for a second. It's not that I'm worried about what might happen. I didn't think that Brother Mavien would take it seriously. Nonetheless, I chose to heed his order.
"Harshness of thy snow, the ice's sharpest blow, lying inside though could breathe and wake, show them our might and make them shake!" I chanted.
I once named a spell called Harsh fleeting of wintry weather. An offensive illusion-type spell. This one so far, was among my favorite spells. A spell that could remind me of the dearest past.
The anxious they were, the greater it would disturb one's inner mind. A spell that could be a nightmare to everyone. As great as it could be, it wasn't a long lasting spell, although it could distrupt one's opponent and change the tides of the battle.
A series of defense spells from the mages started to appear. My purpose was to show them my capabilities and I thought it's enough so I decided to stop it. I could also feel my magic slowing down, until the last drop and I find it hard to stand up firmly anymore.
Until I could feel Brother Maven's spell, helping me regain enough magic and stamina. The results were good though, because it seemed they were convinced of my powers based on their fearful expressions. Another one is not a single drop of blood came out of my body. The fifth time it was and meant that I could improve more unlike those past years.
I cheered silently inside. It seemed that my body's adapting to the vast magic powers I could have and would slowly control it as I waited patiently.
My magic reserves are really frightening as one's person normally could contain enough magic fit for ones body. If it increased more than that, complications could arise, worst is it could be permanent.
In my condition, I'm born with this rarity. I was always close to death many times that I get used to it eventually. My ice and water magic somewhat helped me heal my body though, insignificant.
The greatest power one held could also bring your worst nightmare, indeed.
I stopped reminiscing my past when Brother Maven told me to rest at the throne I was sitting earlier. I followed and observed my surroundings.
"Any doubts you harbor?" Brother Mavien said.
The vast hall became utterly quiet even though, there's a crowd of peole gathered in this event.
Although, it didn't last long. The families from 12 richest family of Soul'e started raising questions. The Welsey family being the first one to ask Brother Mavien.

"Your majesty, I understand that she could be qualified as an archmage, but why did a young lady from the n.o.ble house of Lightsoul Elvina main family only appear at this moment when the young lady could be known in the past years. I don't mean any harm, but it bothers me a lot, your majesty," the head of the Welsey family, Hendrid Sev Welsey said.
I looked at the man who said that. The one on his side was Ingrid Welsey, who is not only a student president of Soul'e Magic High, but also an only heir of Headmaster of Welsey Family.
Ingrid couldn't believe it, wasn't he? I thought earlier when we're still in Soul'e that he would search informations about us though, he wouldn't find anything about me being the youngest daughter of the late Ruler Timothy Elvina.
I felt Brother Mavien's chuckle.
"Seventeen years ago was one of the most critical period of our country. A delicate princess in father's eyes, would he be willing to lay his daughter into the lion's den? As a result, she's kept hidden, until she could protect her own life," Brother Mavien said.
He then rested his one arm at his throne's armrest and looked at them boredly.
"As your eyes could see, Irvene inherited from late Ruler Timothy Elvina, our father, his dark raven hair and skills and even the same magic attribute! Her other facial features were from our mother. She has the presence of a G.o.ddess like mother," Brother Maven said.
I understand that Brother Mavien started to lost interest of the Headmaster's logic, so Brother Maven continued instead. Although, I couldn't see the importance of exaggerating everything. G.o.ddess? You're making fun of me, Brother Maven!
I made a straight face and looked at him.
"Irvene, you should thank me. I praised you even more at those people," Brothe Maven whispered.
I rolled my eyes at him. "I won't, and you're only uttering nonsense," I said.
The other families from 12 richest family of Soul'e followed and Brother Maven and Mavien answered them but not completely. The information he gave was direct and that they wouldn't have an opportunity to ask further.
The head councilor took forward and showed a doc.u.ment. It's only a long one-paged paper, although it has the seals of the councilors, late Ruler Timothy Elvina and Brother Mavien.
"This is the testimony that Archmage Irvene Elvina obtained her position legally with all the councilor's approval and our current Ruler and late Ruler Timothy Elvina. It also included the announcement of a Warrior named Vaughn Estrama to be the leader of the Seventh Unit to be trained Black knights and would be ent.i.tled as the Black Sword General under Ruler Mavien Night di Lightsoul Elvina's personal orders!" Head Councilor George Woodluck announced.
Afterwards, I saw Sister Adelaine with Vaughn, Sid and Meryll. They're walking towards us.
Our visitors inside the hall once again, filled with their own opinions regarding the announcement but none took courage to show their true emotions to the Ruler and chose to wait for the Ruler to explain it. The Soul'e rich people still have some harmony left on them.
"This would be my new general, Vaughn Estrama. Once a member from the esteemed Estrama Family and also, Sid Salford, a special warrior under Vaughn from the n.o.ble Salford family if you would ask," Brother Mavien said.
"Then Meryll Dellmira, who'll be Irvene's personal a.s.sociate and will accompany her in her position as an Archmage," he continue.
It's very clear that the people wanted to know their family backgrounds instead of knowing why we're a.s.signed to our positions. Although, I thought from what they experienced from my spell a while ago, they wouldn't dare doubt our abilities.
"I would respect your Majesty's decision. Since it included all the councilor's decision and not only our Ruler Mavien, it only means that they have the capabilities for that position. Although, whether they could constantly fulfill their responsibilities or not would be relying on their experiences and resilient mind," Headmaster Salford said.
"The councilors could always change the person in position if some of them failed to do their tasks, so I couldn't see a problem anymore," he continued.
The headmaster of the Salford Family was still doubting us even though, one of his son was with us. It only meant that he saw Sid as nothing. Sid didn't deserve to come back from his family!
"You'll see the results in the near future," Brother Mavien said.
He even looked directly at the Headmaster of Salford. I could feel that Headmaster's slight trembling body though, he sat on his chair quickly for everyone not to notice his cowardice.
His att.i.tude were worse than the Headmaster of Estrama. No matter what, they're still the same. I drifted my thoughts to another subject for these two Headmasters wasn't worth my time.
Meanwhile, the hall gathering continued to celebrate the event until it ended. Our guests came back from their own mansions while we went straight to our room. Brother Mavien said that I should rest and I didn't have the chance to talk to Vaughn, Sid and Meryll after the event.
I could still felt a slight headache so I quickly changed my dress and sleep fast.
I wonder what would happen tomorrow. Can I fullfill such tough responsibilities of an Archmage?
