But in fact, there was a man standing not too far away from Xi Rin. His well-trained body was leaning against the hallway, laziness in his posture. Wearing a robe the colour of blood, silver locks pilled down his figure. Just like a devil with a deathly allure.
But the most concerning thing about this man is the way he looked. Like a ghost, he seems to be fading. The edge of his figure was blurry and he was partly transparent. But that didn't concern him at all, instead, he was observing the girl in front of him. He knew the girl couldn't see him. No one can. And it's all due to his high cultivation and expertise. Even experts won't be able to detect him.
So he calmly stared at the at the girl without fear. From the start, he has always been here. Always to check on her condition, certain that her fate would be like the others. Dead. But on the third day, he found her awake and alive.
How?
This girl clearly has no cultivation. Even masters of cultivation have died due to that illusion, how come she hasn't? So how?
His eyebrows slightly scrunched together, as he realized something. The past two days that Xi Rin has been unconscious, the white lilies that were kept in her bag fell out and were scattered across her body. But now, those flowers seemed to have disappeared, leaving inconspicuous white dust on her body.
If memory serves him right, this girl was chased by the Purple Lightning Serpent before she landed in the cave. Lightning Serpents are ordinarily nonchalant creatures and would always mind their own business. Unless... you touch the White Moon Flowers that they guard. It was then, they would become aggressive and hostile. They will chase you to the ends of the world for its flowers if it must.
Troublesome creatures they are, But those white lilies were White Moon Flowers?
How lucky.
White Moon Flowers were extremely rare flowers that were said to be miracle medicine. It can enhance your cultivation, perhaps even breaking you into another stage. It was said for being able to the almost dead back to full health. It seems that the little girl has already absorbed all those numerous flowers.
He saw her stood up as walk towards the door to the next trial. But her eyes looked wildly confused. This girl does not know about this place at all. It was all accidental. She should not be here.
But it doesn't matter now. Since you're here, there's no way out. You either complete the trial. Or you die. Of course, upon completing it, you'll gain treasures and riches. But he'll never let anyone who covets his treasure walk out alive.
So with cold eyes and an icy curve of his lips, he watched her approach the next step of the ques, the Sinful Door.
But she seemed to spot something else.
Turning his head along her line of vision, he saw a gla.s.s door. Like gla.s.s, it reflected the light beautifully but it wasn't transparent and see through like normal gla.s.s. Like a gate, it stood proudly, guarding whatever secrets stood behind its cover. But this was no ordinary door, it was the door to the Gla.s.s trial for the Gla.s.s PaG.o.da. But she of all people, shouldn't be able to see that.
The Gla.s.s PaG.o.da chooses its owner. And even then, they have to go through a test known as the Gla.s.s Trail. All masters of the Gla.s.s PaG.o.da were powerful beyond compare. Alchemists, Beast Tamers, Void Mages, they all left their possession and knowledge in here, in hopes that someone will pa.s.s on their legacies. Countless precious cultivation techniques. Pills, weapons, knowledge, scrolls. Innumerable precious treasures. Many of whom who are lost to the outside world, is now just sitting and waiting to be used in the Gla.s.s PaG.o.da.
But that door is only visible to those who are deemed fit to be master. So why would a little girl with no cultivation be able to see it?
But to his dismay, she started to walk towards the gla.s.s door. Before that grand door, her figure seemed small and hesitant. Contemplating to herself on which door is the safer path, she sighed and firmly held onto the gla.s.s door's k.n.o.b. And without a moment further, she walked right into the door.
