When Princess Lingchen found out that they might run out of medicine before the treatment finished, she was devastated. However, her cousin, Jiang Xiao Tian, revealed that there might be another method to naturalize the poison.
Prince Lu Wei of Qian Rong admitted that he has a method. However, he had his term: no one should be around during his treatment. The prince claimed that he had learned a secret technique to treat this cold poison from his concubine mother.
Princess Lingchen wanted to get better, but she was skeptical of Prince Lu Wei's way. There was no way that she would allow herself to be alone with a man who had no relations.h.i.+p with herself. After all, she is the Crown Princess of Da Cheng. Being alone with a man would only tarnish her reputation.
In the end, Princess Lingchen made a deal with herself. If the cold poison did not go away by the time her treatment with Ying Yi ended, then, she will accept Prince Lu Wei's way.
Back in Han Zhenting's small infirmary, Princess Lingchen sat quietly on the stool. Her right hand rested on a small pillow on the table as she watched her grandfather took her pulse.
Beside her, both Ying Yi and Jiang Xiao Tian waited anxiously for the result. When the examination ended, Han Zhenting heaved a sigh.
"How is it?" Jiang Xiao Tian asked. He could no longer bear the silence.
"We still need a month worth of medicine for the poison to disappear," Han Zhenting said.
The room was silent again. Princess Lingchen tapped her fingers on the table. Then she turned around to Jiang Xiao Tian. "Please arrange a meeting with Prince Lu Wei."
"You agree to his terms?" Jiang Xiao Tian asked.
Princess Lingchen shook her head. "I need to talk to him before I agree to anything."
Jiang Xiao Tian thought about it for a while and nodded.
"Regarding this prince, how much do you trust him?" Han Zhenting asked. "Is he really proficient in medicine?"
"I don't know," the Crown Princess slumped her shoulder. Although she had few interactions with Prince Lu Wei, Princess Lingchen could tell that the Prince had no bad intention towards her.
"You're willing to gamble and trust this person to treat you? What if he turns out to be a liar?" Han Zhenting continued to ask.
"This is why I need to talk to him before I agree. However, Grandfather, what if he really can heal me?" Princess Lingchen asked. "I need to get better. I need to get rid of this poison inside of me or else; I might spend the rest of my life, worrying if someone is going to take a chance to cause the poison in my body to surface again. I don't want to live like that, constantly worrying."
Han Zhenting could only sigh at his granddaughter's words.
"Grandfather, I need to make this gamble. However, this is the gamble that I do not think I could afford to lose," Princess Lingchen said. She placed a hand on Han Zhenting's arms to comfort the older man. "Don't worry. I know how to protect myself."

Prince Lu Wei strolled around the market place with a guard in plain clothes beside him. He entered a bookshop and silently browsed through the t.i.tles. The Prince picked up a book and frowned when something blocked the light source. The frown on his face quickly disappeared when he met with Jiang Xiao Tian's gaze.
"Your Highness," Jiang Xiao Tian greeted. His voice was low as they were in a bookstore.
"Commander Jiang, I did not expect to see you here," Prince Lu Wei spoke. He put the book back on the shelf and noticed that the guard by his side was no longer around. In was then that he saw that the shop had been evacuated.
"You don't have to worry. I'm only here to invite you for tea," Jiang Xiao Tian said.
"You don't need to empty the shop to invite me for tea," the Prince said.
Jiang Xiao Tian smiled. "The shopkeeper made an unnecessary gesture. I'm sorry if this has made you uncomfortable. Your Highness, if you're free right now, would you come with me for tea?"
Prince Lu Wei placed both hands behind him. "If you have something to say, you can say it right here, Commander Jiang. After all, this shop is empty."
"It wasn't me who wanted to have a word with you," Jiang Xiao Tian said. "It's the Crown Princess."
