Psalm 1:1-4
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the unG.o.dly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The unG.o.dly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Whatever happens to you is not a burial but a planting. The worst of the attack of the enemy does not make you go down forever. But the expectation of the wicked can perish. A planting of G.o.d is different from a burial. We discard the body of the dead person but when a seed is planted, although it changes in the soil but it will come up later.
Mk. 4:26 26
And he said, So is the kingdom of G.o.d, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Jesus in the above scripture spoke about the mystery of planting. The seed goes through a death process. Even when it comes up again, it comes up in stages. That is why as a believer, never say it is over. Expect great things. This is your redemptive destiny as the beloved of the Lord. That the seed is buried is only a transition, so there is a future for the righteous.
Daniel in the Lion's den experienced a planting in order to rise to the very top of his career ladder in G.o.d. What they meant for evil G.o.d turned it to good for him. But G.o.d was not finished with him until he made his enemies to go down to their graves. Surely G.o.d exchanges men for our lives because we are precious to him.
The story of Lazarus is told in John eleventh chapter that he died and was later raised by Jesus. Why did Jesus weep? Some who were not thoughtful believed that it was over. But do you know that between the planting and reaping is a shower of blessing. It was not a weeping of desperation but wetting the seed to produce a harvest of miracle that will astound the people of his days.
Psalms 56:8
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.
Many today ask why G.o.d allows the righteous to go through suffering. But the weeping is to prepare the seed for a bountiful harvest to astound your generation. The bible recorded it that Jesus groaned; it means to cry. The people in Jesus' day believed that the dead could be raised within 3 days after death by exceptionally and spectacular power but not after the third day as decadence sets in. They believed the spirit then goes back to heaven. Martha, the sister of Lazarus was trying to excuse Jesus from public disgrace by protesting that the body was smelling already. She was saying all these because it was stinking and they would be set up for ridicule visiting a closed matter. She was reminding Jesus that he had died four days, as if Jesus did not know. We do the same thing as Martha was doing here. We tell Jesus what he already knows about our inadequacies and lack.
Jn. 11:40-41
40Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of G.o.d?
41Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
They took away the stone reluctantly. G.o.d will not do the impossible until you do the possible. When tears come upon the seed, it transformed the seed. Jesus called him forth and then commanded them to loose him and let him go. The harvest came! The power of G.o.d did it because Jesus himself is the resurrection. Lazarus came back better, whole and free. Whatever you are going through, your life is going through a transformation. G.o.d is refurbis.h.i.+ng you. When you go through many years of planting, you become pa.s.sionate. Joseph could not revenge his brothers for many years of darkness has taught him to be sober. There is nothing you sow as a seed that comes out worse. It is a matter of time, the harvest will come.
Psalm 107: 12-13
Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
In the above scripture, the word cry occurs many times. G.o.d is compa.s.sionate. He is moved by the trouble of his own.
Psalm 126:1-6
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Every seed receives rain from heaven for the harvest. Rain is refres.h.i.+ng, when G.o.d allows you to go through troubles; the weepings are the rain to water your seed.
Joseph had the seed of a dream, they believed in his dream that was why they attacked him. No one rob an empty house, so you too must believe in your dream. Don't drop it. Your dream is a precious seed. Your harvest shall come if you don't give up
Isaiah 61:1-4
The Spirit of the Lord G.o.d is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our G.o.d; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
There is no need for you to be depressed or to commit suicide. The Holy Ghost is the same in all ages. What he did in the ministry of Jesus, he will do for you. Once you come to Zion, G.o.d gives you beauty for ashes. He gives you joy so that your strength will not fail. The Spirit of heaviness is the spirit of depression. Don't allow the enemy to destroy you by painting the picture of a bleak future in the screen of your mind.
In John 9:1-3 is the story of a man without sight.
Jn. 9:1-3
And as Jesus pa.s.sed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of G.o.d should be made manifest in him.
A man was born sightless. The disciples asked Jesus the person that sinned that made the man to be born that way. Jesus told them that although the enemy had done his worse but he has come to turn the situation around. Jesus did what G.o.d did with Adam. He rubbed the clay missed with saliva on the man's face and told him to go and wash. The river was named after him. Some must have mocked the blind man when they saw him going. If you don't know how to manage shame, you may not get to where you are going. The man expected solution so he went to the river. When he came back seeing, they were shocked and fought themselves whether it was the man or not.
Ps. 56:8-9
Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for G.o.d is for me.
Beloved, never say that you are hopeless; you are born to make a difference you must understand that before joy comes, there are momentary pains but they are watering your seed. David killed a giant and afterwards became a vagabond. The tears that he shed during those years of wanderings; G.o.d stored in his bottle. The tears that Jesus shed too at the tomb of Lazarus was not meaningless tears. G.o.d has a bottle in heaven where he put your tears. When it is full, G.o.d manifests on your behalf.
The tears of pain in choosing to go all the way with G.o.d when others would have jumped the queue, G.o.d has collected them in his bottle. You must know that G.o.d is on your side. The tears you shed in the place of intercession and supplication is not in vain
Romans 8:31
What shall we then say to these things? If G.o.d be for us, who can be against us?
Cries have a way of relieving the heart. Some, bottle up their emotions. They have been made to believe that crying is not manly. Research has shown that those who cry are more likely to be healed of emotional wounds much more earlier than those that bottle up their emotions. It has also been discovered that crying releases stress hormone or toxins from our body therefore reducing tension. It helps you to reduce stress, sadness, grief, anxiety and frustration. Emotional tears contain mood regulating manganese which if not released will lead to headache and high blood pressure. It has also being found to contain strong antimicrobial powers. It also contains the fluid called lysosome which can kill up to 9095% bacteria in 5-10 minutes. Crying also indicates a need for help. The cry of Nineveh made G.o.d to send Jonah. The cry of the oppressed in Sodom made G.o.d to rise. If the cry of the unG.o.dly made G.o.d to send help, how much more the cry of the righteous?
Is. 12:3-4
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
After your pain in the will of G.o.d, G.o.d turns things around. The bible says you will draw waters. Well contains water. Tears too contain water. Salvation means preservation and safety. This means that G.o.d will draw salvation out of your well of tears.
I Sam 1:6
And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
We can learn from the story to Hannah and Peninah. Peninah did not know that were it not for the problem in the home of Elkanah she would not have been in that home. Her arrival in the home of El Kannah brought pain to Hannah. She became an adversary to Hannah. The word adversary from the root word means diabolos. That is the name bible calls the devil, the devil was the one instigating Peninah to make Hannah miserable.
G.o.d permitted all this to make her bottles of tears to be full so that one of her children will be better than ten of Peninah's. At the end, G.o.d gave her a new song.
1 Sam. 2:3
Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a G.o.d of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
G.o.d enlarged her mouth over her enemies. Nothing meets G.o.d unawares. That people don't know what to do does not mean that G.o.d does not know what to do. G.o.d has answers before the trouble comes.
Gen 15:13-14
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
Abraham came telling G.o.d that Eliezer would inherit his blessing. G.o.d in helping him, brought him out to see the stars. We are told that you can count up to 5,000 stars before you lose count. G.o.d spoke 400 years ahead that the descendants of Abraham would stay in a strange land. After 400 years, G.o.d came to speak to Moses when the time of fulfillment was near.
Ex. 3:7-8
And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hitt.i.tes, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
When the tears of the children of Israel were full, G.o.d came to deliver them. There is no history of a nation coming out of a nation than Israel yet they came out, still retaining their Jewish language and ident.i.ty because G.o.d was involved. All the journey of hatred of Joseph to Egypt was under the supervision of G.o.d. When Jacob was brought to Joseph in Egypt, he thought that he would be there for 5-10 years not knowing that his generation would be there for 400 years. So nothing meets G.o.d unaware; G.o.d is working for your good.
Is. 49:15-16
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compa.s.sion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
G.o.d promised that he will never forget you. G.o.d says he has engraven you in the palm of his hands. Your palm is close to you and you cannot remove the prints on it. So your life is secure in G.o.d.
Is. 40:25-31
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is pa.s.sed over from my G.o.d?
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting G.o.d, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
G.o.d compares us with eagles. They don't eat rotten meat. The unG.o.dly may faint but G.o.d will increase your strength. G.o.d is about to console those that are in Zion, that is why he picked you. A new day has come for you. Keep confessing the word,when Hannah sang praises her story changed. We did not hear of Peninah again, she took over. She gave one Samuel out of one and when she gave Samuel, her story changed.
Beloved you must know the seed you have to sow
1. Stop confessing what the world is saying; say what G.o.d is saying
2. Learn to rejoice in the midst of trouble. Your pain will be converted to joy. You will soon make a difference.
