"Thank you for telling me this, I will look into it." Xiao Jun said and stood up.

Seeing Xiao Jun was about to leave again, Qianru's mood totally depleted. She rested her head on her arms atop of the table while staring at the sky outside absentmindedly.

Why it would be always like this? He even didn't apologize for going back on his own words.

Oh, right… he was trying to bring up the topic, but it was her, who had cut off his words, however it didn't mean he couldn't talk about this again right?

Ugh!

Qianru felt complicated and didn't know what she should think of for now. In the past she would just accept it, but now… had she complained too much?

She closed her eyes, but she couldn't close her mind from thinking all of those frivolous things. Did she become a narrow minded person?

Qianru let out a heavy sigh.

"Upset?" Suddenly Xiao Jun's voice sounded near her ears, his warm breath brushed her neck that made her s.h.i.+vered.

Her eyelids opened abruptly and found his face near hers, he smiled and crouched down in front of her while holding her hand and caressing her temple.

"Can I make it up our dinner with lunch instead?" Xiao Jun tried to amend his mistakes.

He didn't apologize directly, but his words meant he knew his mistakes and wanted to rectify it. He smiled helplessly at her.

"Next time don't send a message like that again, I almost kill Feng Jin for that." Xiao Jun said.

He brought her here not for make her suffer, if something bad happened upon her while she was under his protection, how he could keep going on? Even he didn't know how to protect his woman well.

"Alright." Qianru agreed sullenly to both of Xiao Jun's proposes. She still refused to look at him in the eyes.

"Then I will…" Xiao Jun was about to say that he would go out to take care some business, but then he remembered, it wouldn't be good to go again after what he had said not a second ago.

Qianru wouldn't throw tantrum or chided him, but her upset's expression was enough to make him uncomfortable.

In the end he said. "I will ask Liu Wei to do me a favor, I will call him in, alright?"

Only then, Qianru raised her head and looked at him in the eyes while smiling faintly. "Hmm." She hummed in agreement.

Xiao Jun kissed her forehead and called Liu Wei to come inside the room.

Actually, he needed to thank Qianru for her brazenness for scaring him with the idea she was being kidnapped, or else it wouldn't remind him about how dangerous the environment they were in now.

Probably it was only Qianru's bluffing, but it didn't mean something like that wouldn't happen. All the possibilities could happen here and Xiao Jun was not in the mood to imagine the dire consequences.

The glimmering sunlight fell on an empty table, making a ray of light from the window along the way to the surface of the woods with beautiful swirl of dust within.

There was no one who appreciated the beauty of this worthless detail except a woman on the bed, her eyes were so bright and held emptiness.

It has been so long since she was grounded inside this room, but it didn't matter, for her it was only another prison after the others.

Not long after that there was a sound of door being pushed opened and three guards came inside to bring her breakfast, though she was being grounded the food that they served could be counted as scrumptious.

They didn't treat her poorly, or 'he' didn't treat her poorly.

Xiao Tianyao didn't throw her back into the dungeon, he let her stayed in his room, the same room that Luna had occupied when she just awoke from fainting.

Lin would come frequently to check her condition with two guards followed her inside, afraid if Luna did something toward the innocent Doctor.

The thing that they didn't know was; the possibility for Lin to harm her was higher than she tried anything stupid to hurt her.

However, after all this time, she did nothing that could cause Luna in danger. Probably she was waiting for the right moment or Modama, Luna's dearest father, not yet gave her an issue to execute her.

She knew very well, his father would deadly object for Luna to keep the baby and Luna didn't have any reasons to keep it either.

This baby would bring her more trouble in her detestable life, moreover this was unexpected aspect in their great plan! Something that they didn't calculate and occurred based on ploy and plot.

It could ruin everything, everything that Modama has built.

But, somehow, from the deepest of her heart, the place that she didn't even know was still exist, she want the baby with all the consequences that might happen or would happen.

And as the time goes by and the baby had grown within her, it was hard to shake that thought.

The thought for having her own family, a normal family of her own, the dream that once she had when she was only a little girl, careless from the hatred of the world.

Luna was staring apathetically at the guards who hastily put her breakfast on the empty table and strode out of the room in rush.

Ever since that night, Luna had not yet saw Xiao Tianyao, not even once he came to see her nor Luna could feel his presence. She was too weak to sense him, her body and her power, both seemingly had been deteriorating.

Caressing her belly, Luna made an attempt to sit, no one could see that she was currently pregnant, but if there was someone touched her stomach they would know the different, after all she was not showing yet.

The baby would be two months by next week.

Heaving a deep sigh, Luna tried to bring herself up and walked toward the table. Though she didn't feel like eating, she must to.

She needed to survive, the baby needed to survive… if she didn't eat, she would suffer so do the baby…

Only that thought that accompany her for these past days and kept her munching her food one spoon after another, although it taste like sand in her mouth.

Luna ate as if it was a work that had to be done, not because she enjoyed it, chewing it just so she didn't choke.

Occasionally she would caress her stomach, feeling her stomach hardened and continued to eat again until all the dishes vanished or she couldn't push another food down her throat.

Despite she was eating regularly and had much time to rest, her complexion didn't seem better, she was still pale and if anything became thinner.

Luna chugged down the water and sat for a while, feeling slightly dizzy, before she went to bookshelf and pick the book that she previously read.

It was a good thing there was something that she could read, though Xiao Tianyao's book mostly only talking about war and politic, at the very least she wouldn't spend her day s.p.a.cing out and do nothing except eating and sleeping.

Picking up the book, Luna sat down near the window, from here she could see the small barren garden.

There was a sound of door being opened was heard when she had read the third page, she didn't bother to raise her head as she knew it would be the other guards who came to pick the empty plate of her breakfast. It was the same routine every day.

However, there was no sound of the clanking porcelain, instead Luna felt someone stared down toward her direction.

It needed a while for her to realize there was something unusual. She stopped reading and raised her head slowly only to see the man who had not visited her for many days was standing on the front door, leaning his back at the door frame.

The two of them were staring at each other for long time, apparently no one wanted to start the conversation.

Xiao Tianyao had been avoiding her these past days, he thought this woman would demand his presence and made things difficult for the guards, who were guarding her, or the doctor that he had sent.

Unexpectedly, she was very cooperative, she had never asked for him or troubled the guard, not only that, she was eating all the food obediently, without any complain.

Doctor Lin said she was indeed pregnant for two months.

"What do you want?" Luna gave in, this staring contest would bring them nowhere and she was too tired to partic.i.p.ate.

That was the same question that Xiao Tianyao had been asking himself. What he wants?

He just wanted to see how this woman kept up with her current condition, since she carried his child, he couldn't be possible to get rid of her by ending her life, moreover she has more valuable if she was alive.

"I will let you live until you give birth to my child, afterward you will never see this child. Whether you will alive or not, I will decide later." Xiao Tianyao said heartlessly. There was no warm in his tone, the way he always talked to her previously when he was still under her hypnosis.

He stood there rigidly, gave off dangerous aura around him as he stared dagger at the pregnant woman, who perched near the window.

That decision was made on a whim as he didn't know what exactly he wanted to say to her.

Xiao Tianyao thought the moment he saw Luna, anger and resentment would consume him, made things easier for him. However…

After all these long day without her influence, he was very certain he was free from her hypnosis, but those dreadful feeling didn't come.

He felt no anger or resentment, or the desire to kill this woman and this baffled him completely.

"Do as you wish." Luna said clearly and then lowered her head to continue read the book in her hand without giving Xiao Tianyao room to continue their conversation.

Or, actually there was never conversation in the first place?

They turned out from a lover to become totally stranger, although they were indeed stranger if it wasn't for Luna's ability that brought them closer.

Although Xiao Tianyao's statement sounded heartless, but Luna knew she couldn't keep the baby with her, it was hard enough to keep herself alive, how she could manage to save one more life?

Modama, her father, had made this matter very clear that he didn't want this child and wanted to get rid of it immediately, he even didn't give her a second glance or he was worried about his daughter safety.

He knew crystal clear that Luna's body was very weak and with the miscarriage no one could guarantee she would survive.

She should thank Xiao Tianyao instead for his willingness to keep the baby, gave the child his name and would be under his protection.

For once in her life, Luna knew that she did the right thing.

Luna thought after saying that Xiao Tianyao would leave however after many pages that she read, that man was still rooting on the door way, locking his eyes on her.

"There is anything else?" Luna closed the book again and raised her eyes to meet his.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

Xiao Tianyao's expression was as impa.s.sive as always when he asked away the question that had been bothering him. "Why do you want to keep this child?"

Luna had thought that question when he decided to not drink the abortion potion, to put it in the right word, she couldn't bring herself to drink it.

That revelation surprised her as well and along with that she became aware of one thing…

Subconsciously Luna ran her hand on her stomach as she spoke. "I admit it that I am not a good person for scheming and forcing myself onto you, but I will not kill my own flesh and blood."
