A few days ago she was tossed into the mountain and almost got eaten by the wolves. Her twin brother was very nice to her!”

Eh? It's only September, why was there a cold breeze and felt like a winter storm was quickly arriving? Yin Mei shuddered and looked over. The hall master looked like he was about to unleash his fury, but yet, if one searched hard enough, one would also be able to find a trace of tenderness. What was going on with the hall master today? He seemed to be a completely different person ever since he had met that little girl. He has emotions, and he was letting them shown – making him much like a real person. The hall master in the past resembled more a walking iceberg; he could freeze someone on the spot with just one glance!

Yin Mei, while withstanding the pressure, continued. When he got to the part where Mrs. Gu felt squarely onto the ground while chasing the two siblings, the viciousness on the hall masters decreased a little. Yin Mei tried to antic.i.p.ate his master's mind and took a guess, “Hall Master, would you like me to go take care of that mean woman?”

Right now, Ling Juechen could see in his mind how the little brat had used the “Spring Finger Technique” that he had taught her to punish her stepmother. That little brat was no pushover. He didn't know whether the red lotus dimension transmigrated with her. Nonetheless, with or without the dimension, with her incredible apothecary skills, that Mrs. Gu has it coming for her.

“No!” Ling Juechen decided to take a trip there himself, to stand in the yard where she had stood, to listen to the soft breathing of her sleep, to take a look at her sleeping face…

During dinner, Mrs. Gu looked at the wild vegetables along with the mushroom soup. There were no grease whatsoever on the table. She thought about the pheasant that Mrs. Wu said was at least four to five jin. She has angry all over again, but her foot hurt too much for her to try and strike them. That did not, however, stopped her from cussing them out. Finally, it was Gu Qiao who had had enough and shouted for her to stop.

She was so angry she tossed and turned in bed that night, not able to fall asleep.

Tonight, the moon shone like a stream. Ling Juechen stood in a dark corner inside the courtyard and watched the small and scrawny body sneaked out of the bedroom after her brother had fallen asleep. She stopped suddenly in her steps and her sharp eyes scanned the backyard.

Ling Juechen chuckled to himself: Oh, this girl was still very vigilant. Nevertheless, he was the one who taught her every trick that she knew directly or indirectly. There was no way she could detect him being there!
