A new series I’ve read recently and got me hooked on the novel (which is surprisingly wholesome and funny). I tried to not make the whole conversations too ‘polite’ as I’ve done on the other web novel.
Chapter 1: Story 0 Prologue: The Hero Now Departs To See His Apprentices
“Yosh, I’ve decided. I’m going on a journey around the world.”
I suddenly announced in my study room as I lay down my pen in the desk.
“Eh? What happened, Eisen-sensei? It’s not like you to suddenly say something like that.”
Before me is an elf wearing a slightly red dress about to take a book from the shelves. I answered her—
“Do you remember, Rinne? There used to be a man named Duke who became my apprentice.”
“Coming from a long-lived race, I have a very good memory so I remember him perfectly… but how did that come about?”
“I’ve got a letter from him the other day.”
『Greetings to my dear master, Eisen Otis-sama.
How are you?
Twenty years have pa.s.sed since I became a King.
Thanks to master, I was able to carry out not only political affairs but also various jobs which improved the economy of the country and developed many cities. It became a very fun place, so I’d be happy if you could come here at least once. Please contact me when that time comes because I’d like to welcome you as a state guest and introduce you to different places in my country.
Until then, please take care of yourself.』
“—is what he had written.”
“Oh, that’s right. Every month you get these kind of letters from your other apprentices, too.”
Rinne glanced at the cupboard. There were numerous letters in the cupboard and she took some of them.
“This one is from Frausto-s.h.i.+ who had become a Wiseman a few years ago saying 『I have flourished a country after a fantastic subjugation』 and this one which came last week was from Heinrich-s.h.i.+, the Grand Knight, who’s also saying, 『Please come to my place at least once. Please, allow me to show you around』. Other than the ones who became a lord, a headmaster of a Magic School—they’re all members of the Hundred Heroes.”
“Right? I’ve been receiving such kind of letters for a long time. I didn’t have anything to do here, and I thought that I should go at once because they’ve been telling me about how attractive their countries.”
“Will Eisen-sensei send a magic telegram to those who sent you letters? Or do you want me to send back a letter for you? ”
I shook my head at Rinne’s words.
“No, I don’t think we should contact them.”
“Eh? Why?”
“Why, everybody’s in a tough position, aren’t they? What if I start contacting them and get them into trouble, wouldn’t that be too annoying?”
All of my disciples are in a tough position holding important roles such as being a king, a lord, or a headmaster. I don’t think it’s right to bother them.
“So I think it’s a good idea to go on my own, enjoy it on my own, and say a few greetings if I ever get a chance to meet them.”
“I see… so you’re going incognito.”
“That’s right.”
“When is the date of your departure?
"I’m thinking of leaving this house by the end of the day. ”
“Oh, you’re in a hurry.”
“I thought that it’s better to move as soon as I think of it.”
I’ve prepared my luggage for the trip and I finished saying goodbye to the neighbors. All I need to do is leave the place.
“That’s why I’m going now. Rinne, you are free—
"Alright, I’ll follow you. I’m going to pack my bags, so please wait a moment.”
Before I could finish talking, Rinne ran swiftly to the corner of the room and began to carry a backpack and other things.
“What—Rinne? Even if you’re a resident apprentice, you don’t have to take care of me anymore, you know?
"Well, I will take care of Eisen-sensei not because I was your apprentice but because on my own volition. So this time, I will follow you regardless of being your apprentice. Eisen-sensei was the one who told me to be free——is it okay?”
Rinned asked timidly and perked up. Well, she’s certainly free now, there’s no reason to stop her and also—
“I’d be saved if you’re with me in this journey.”
Rinne’s expression then brightened up.
“Yes! Please give some more time. I’m almost done with packing my equipments and I’ll be ready to go!”
“Huh? Isn’t this the first time I’ve told you about the journey and you’re all ready?”
“Of course. I’m fine wherever Eisen-sensei wants to go! And I’m done!”
I raised my thumb.
“You sure packed your things really fast, Rinne.”
“Fufu, thank you very much but, say Eisen-sensei. I wasn’t really surprised about this journey, were you expecting this?”
“I had a feeling that this would happen.”
Rinne is a caring child so I had a hunch that maybe she would come along.
“As one would expect from Eisen-sensei the prophet.”
“No not at all. Even though I have the skills like 「prophecy」 and 「prediction」 I can’t predict the future, you know?”
Prophecy and Prediction are magic that can’t foresee the future. Basically, a 『Prophet』 is only a magician of words and spirits. In the first place, the magic of “seeing” the future used by the Prophets is very precise but due to various costs needed in exchange to see the future, I can only see a few things in the future. I’d be able to do it before but I have a hunch I won’t be able to do it now.
“Oh… That’s right. Eisen-sensei lost the majority of his magic powers in the fight with the Evil Sword King.”
“It can’t be helped, it turns out that at that time I couldn’t maintain my bad state. Now that I have rested and recovered my strength here, I don’t mind going back now.”
I said as I left the study room and opened the back door of the kitchen. Outside the house was a rainbow colored sky, the meadows stretched far with glowing lights on the atmosphere.
This is the 『Other World』 a place which exist between the boundaries of Human World and the Spirits World. After getting wounded in my previous battle, I came to this world with the help of an acquaintance. I healed faster due to the special nature of the time in this world. It took me 20 years to recover but there seems to be no decline in my body and I still got my young appearance as if I haven’t changed at all.
“Eh? Does that mean Eisen-sensei’s going on a journey to regain his magic powers?”
“Well, that’s just the cherry on top since I feel like I’ll regain my powers on this journey. The first goal, as I said before, is to go sightseeing around the places where all of my apprentices are present.”
We stepped out not far from the house and I pointed a finger at Rinne’s direction. A gate made of lights appeared—this is the gate that connects the other world to the human world.
I was about to push the door open when someone came not far away from me—
“Oya, you really are leaving, Eisen Otis-dono and Rinne-dono?”
Next to the s.h.i.+ning door, a woman dressed in a white dress appears.
“Ah, Elder Spirit-san. Thank you very much for all you have done.”
When Rinne returned her words, she who was called the Elder Spirit, shook her head with a smile.
“It’s fine. There’s no need to thank me.”
“Please don’t say that, I’ve recovered my strength after all. You also helped me exchange letters with my apprentices until now, thank you for your kindness, Elder Spirit.”
Saying this, I returned a smile at her.
“You don’t have to thank me so much, Eisen Otis-dono. It was originally our responsibility that you were wounded in the fight against the Evil Sword King. Besides, you have given my children some great knowledge, I should be thanking you two instead.”
Elder Spirit says as she eyed her back, there stands the little spirits behind her with semi-transparent body, the reason why is because they’re not good enough to show their bodies clearly.
“Sensei~ Thank you~”
They said while waving their hands to me.
“Eh, Eisen-sensei. It seems Elder Spirit-san’s children calls you 'sensei’, too.”
“It’s because you call me 'sensei’ all the time, Rinne.”
“Haha, well it can’t be wrong to say you raised them, Eisen-dono. Please don’t hesitate to call us anytime there’s anything related to the Spirit World for not only me, but also these children who have been raised and trained by you, will surely be of a.s.sistance.”
Elder Spirit held out her hand and I shook hands with her.
“We’ll be in your care when that time comes, Elder Spirit… See you later!”
“Everyone, take care!”
“I, the Elder Spirit, wishes you good fortune in your journey.”
Elder Spirit sees us off as Rinne and I pa.s.ses through the door.
“Now, let’s go around the world without telling my apprentices, Rinne!”
“Yes, Eisen-sensei!”
With Rinne, I set foot in the Human World for the first time in a long time.

“Hahaha. The prophet Eisen who not only trained heroes but also raised some spirits, has come down to the Human world. It would be fun once he realized that he has not only a hundred apprentices that adores him.”

“At last — that day has come!!!”
In a room under the Royal Palace in the capital of Lega, King Duke let out an uncontrollable delight as he looked at the group of magicians before him.
About twenty people in this group of magicians were all wearing robes and holding crystal b.a.l.l.s while their heads sweats heavily.
Then King Duke made the people repeat their words again and again. He listened to the same reports again and again.
“The prophet will appear in the Human World. The prophet, like the one who killed the Evil G.o.d who once tried to destroy the world, the Evil Sword King… ”
He hasn’t heard things mistakenly. At this, Duke clenched his fist tightly.
“At last! At last this prophecy has come!”
Duke speaks to the people in front of him gleeful expression.
“Well done, my dear fortune-tellers!”
The moment Duke said those words, the fortune-tellers lowered their hands that’s holding the crystal ball and at the same time, fell on their knees.
“Ha… Wah… How was it, Your Majesty?”
“Oh, it’s been a few years of hards.h.i.+p. It’s the desirable result, everyone!”
“Is that true?! ”
“Yes, you may now rest!!”
At the King’s voice, the fortune tellers saw what they achieved at the same, they felt relieved. After saying his grat.i.tude towards the fortune-tellers, Duke was loss for words as he bursts into tears.
“It was worth throwing in my own money every year, making a large budget, hiring more than one fortune-teller, purchasing and preparing magic equipments…!”
The fortune-teller will keep his magical powers for a month, and with all his magical powers he will use the magic of “Prophecy"—they do this every month.
"Even with this amount of budget, numbers of Prophets and magic equipments—I would never achieve the degree of accuracy at sensei’s level…”
The place they’re currently working on is a ceremonial hall designed and built many years ago to strengthen the magical power of fortune tellers. Originally, such magic cannot be activated without strengthening the fortune-teller with special magic equipment, to acc.u.mulate magical power within one month, and to activate it with multiple fortune-tellers at the same time.
There’s no other man in the world who could have used the word “Prophecy” in its sole discretion that was as good as his master. He don’t know when the prophet will come or if it is his sensei at all. Nevertheless, it is certain that he is likely to be his sensei, and if he was his sensei—
“When I find out that that it’s really him, I’ll devote all my energy to give him the best hospitality he deserves!”
