THE PROPHET FACES THE MAGIC BEAST

Dominic saw the higher spirit in front of Eisen fly away as she erased the tornado. He has been a magician for a decade but he had never seen anyone else do this. Not only did Eisen bravely approached the higher spirit who's been clad with thick magic power body, but he also wipe out the tornado after talking to it for a few minutes.

「Otis-san is so brave, you're able to drive away a higher spirit by words alone.」

After being relieved from the great pressure the higher spirit gives off, Dominic gives Eisen a heartfelt praise but he shook his head.

「No, it's because she simply let us go⸺or should I say, she left everything to us.」

「Eh? Left everything to us?」

「We've got a lot to do. We got to kill the magic beast that's spreading miasma, it's the one that the higher spirit was keeping at bay using her strong wind. I'll be explaning our situation shortly.」

Dominic then heard from Eisen what the higher spirit was doing. She wasn't being hostile. In addition, she was protecting the humans around her.

「S-So that happened… So there's a magic beast that's spreading miasma and then the higher spirit was protecting humans from this?」

Dominic was apologetic for how he acted earlier after hearing this.

「I was very reckless, I acted without thinking. I have to apologize to the higher spirit.」

In other words, its appropriate to treat this magic beast's rank equivalent to a difficulty of C-Rank. Eisen and Rinne are Rank C, so it's a good match for the two to challenge. However, they're also newcomers who has yet to fight violent magic beasts.

「I want to help you, Otis-san.」

「Oh, is that fine with you? I thought we'd take the liberty of doing this ourselves.」

Dominic nodded at Eisen's words.

「Of course. If that's the best way to stop the tornado here then I'll do it.」

「I've been leaving everything to Otis-san so far so I want to help you even for a little.」

Dominic came here with the intention of taking care of them. He knows he really can't do that much to help them but Dominic don't want to leave everything to them. That's what he think when said this.

Before Eisen could finish his words, Rinne who was next to him called their attention as she readied her dual swords.

「It seems that isn't necessary now, sensei, Dominic-san.」

Dominic understood her words and her actions⸺he saw three large moles that's about a meter long body with horns in their heads, and their body were clad with swirling black mists. Among them was a certain beast with a particular kind of black mist surrounding it's body⸺this is a proof that it's the magic beast that's producing the miasma.

「Grr⸺」

That mole growled at them. 　Unlike the higher spirit, this one obviously gives off pure hostility towards them.

「So that's the leader of the moles that the higher spirit was trying to keep at bay.」

「I see, it must have resurfaced here after the tornado disappeared.」

After saying so, Dominic touches his pouch and called out his lesser spirit. Ranking is only a guide.

(Our opponents are 3 Rank C magic beasts. If I  can release a magic, I might be able to hit one of them, and there are rules of experience that may actually actually destroyed them.)

Even with just the three of them, they can defeat the moles with their current party. Bearing that in mind, with the of a lesser spirit of light in one hand, Dominic began to take a step forward.

「Wait a minute, Dominic.」

Eisen's hands stopped Dominic.

「What's wrong, Otis-san. If we don't do this now these mole might get away and the higher spirit will raise another tornado.　」

「You see, there's still more beneath the ground⸺」

Eisen tapped the ground with his staff as he speak⸺

At Dominic's line of sight⸺the ground between them⸺dozens of moles with bodies about a meter long, resurfaced from the ground, clad with black mist .
